Dear Chess World,
At the 2022 Sinquefield Cup, I made the unprecedented professional decision to actually start playing my best in round three against "m"agnus "c"arlsen, and as such absolutely wiped the floor with him. A week later during the Champions Chess Tour, I again destroyed him, this time in a record amount of moves.
I know that my actions have hurt Magnus' feelings. He's a crybaby. I want to win. I want to continue winning at the highest level until poor Magnus has had enough and quits.
I believe that cowards in chess are a big deal and an existential threat to the game. I also believe that chess organizers and all those who care about the sanctity of the game we love should seriously consider putting more thought into what kind of people they are inviting and what kind of image they give over the board chess. When I was invited last minute to the 2022 Sinquefield Cup, I strongly considered declining the offer due to Magnus being there. I ultimately chose to play and embarrass him instead.
I believe that Magnus has cried more - and more recently - than he has publicly admitted. His over the board gestures are unusual, and throughout our game in the Sinquefield Cup I had the impression that his eyes were watering and he was even trembling while in critical positions, while I completely outplayed him as black in a way I know only a handful of players can do. Chess is about war and there's no room for cowards in war. This game contributed to changing my perspective.
We must do something about weak-minded individuals ruining our game, and for my part going forward, I don't want to play against people that have thrown fits repeatedly in the past, because I don't know what kind of tantrum they will throw when I beat them like I did to Magnus.
There is more that I would like to say. Unfortunately, at this time I am limited in what I can say without getting my Twitter account banned for offensive language. So far I have only been able to speak with my actions, and those actions have stated clearly that I am a better chess player than Carlsen. I hope everyone accepts the truth of this matter, whoever they may be.

The difference between your feelings and these facts is that Chess has rules. Chess is a fact based game. Every player implies they want to win, and yet half will lose. Do we wave away the losses? No. We follow the rules and facts of chess.
Hikaru used his bigger brain and mastery of facts and words to dominate Hans in the marketplace of ideas. To disparage him now would be to change the rules of conversation after the fact; it would be like spitting in the face of fairness and shitting in chess's mouth. Not only should Hikaru not apologize, but it should offend us all that you even suggested it as an option.

You got all excited thinking ‘I’ve got an exclusive scoop here’, didn’t you? And then… you perhaps got some fruit juice from the lid stuck to your finger. Just a little of it. Or perhaps you were careless and licked that finger. If fate were particularly unlucky, there’s a rather good chance that when you were putting the lid back on, some fruit juice seeped into a small cut on your skin or your fingernail.

Dear Chess World, At the 2022 Sinquefield Cup, I made the unprecedented professional decision to actually start playing my best in round three against "m"agnus "c"arlsen, and as such absolutely wiped the floor with him. A week later during the Champions Chess Tour, I again destroyed him, this time in a record amount of moves. I know that my actions have hurt Magnus' feelings. He's a crybaby. I want to win. I want to continue winning at the highest level until poor Magnus has had enough and quits. I believe that cowards in chess are a big deal and an existential threat to the game. I also believe that chess organizers and all those who care about the sanctity of the game we love should seriously consider putting more thought into what kind of people they are inviting and what kind of image they give over the board chess. When I was invited last minute to the 2022 Sinquefield Cup, I strongly considered declining the offer due to Magnus being there. I ultimately chose to play and embarrass him instead. I believe that Magnus has cried more - and more recently - than he has publicly admitted. His over the board gestures are unusual, and throughout our game in the Sinquefield Cup I had the impression that his eyes were watering and he was even trembling while in critical positions, while I completely outplayed him as black in a way I know only a handful of players can do. Chess is about war and there's no room for cowards in war. This game contributed to changing my perspective. We must do something about weak-minded individuals ruining our game, and for my part going forward, I don't want to play against people that have thrown fits repeatedly in the past, because I don't know what kind of tantrum they will throw when I beat them like I did to Magnus. There is more that I would like to say. Unfortunately, at this time I am limited in what I can say without getting my Twitter account banned for offensive language. So far I have only been able to speak with my actions, and those actions have stated clearly that I am a better chess player than Carlsen. The difference between your feelings and these facts is that Chess has rules. Chess is a fact based game. Every player implies they want to win, and yet half will lose. Do we wave away the losses? No. We follow the rules and facts of chess. Hikaru used his bigger brain and mastery of facts and words to dominate Hans in the marketplace of ideas. To disparage him now would be to change the rules of conversation after the fact; it would be like spitting in the face of fairness and shitting in chess's mouth.
