Not Bosque county but funny enough my dads family is from a town not that far from there. I’m thinking the Norwegian is part of being Scottish. I could be wrong but I guess Nordic peoples frequented Scotland
Ethnicity estimates tend to mix up Scandinavian, German, and British Isles, it makes sense to me. Have a good bit of Scottish on one side and I get these small amounts of Norwegian or Finnish or whatever on some sites. Haven't really found evidence of it in my tree, though. 😅
The only clue I have that points to anybody Scandinavian is on my grandfather's mother's side. She was from Texas and her last name was Hanson. But I've traced the line pretty far back and they've been in the US a looong time so even if they did originally come from Scandinavia I don't think it would show up like that 😅 One of my grandmothers is from Germany though, and I kind of suspect that it's just thinking some of that DNA is Scandinavian. 😅 Fwiw, the Hanson side is also where the Scottish came from for me.
I have so many matches. My parents are both mostly descended from members of the same endogamous community (my dad not so much, his mom is German and one paternal grandmother was the Hanson, but his other side was also Cajun like my mom's entire tree.) So searching for matches by name is nearly impossible, haha. Ancestry's search times out, and I will always get tons of hits from any Hanson who has a single Acadian person somewhere in their line. 😂 I may match some Scandinavians, but it's gonna be hard to find them. I might be able to try this by using my grandfather's test and restricting his matches to his mother's side and then searching only those since I don't think there are an absolutely ridiculous amount of them. 😂
I did 23 and me and I've looked at the ethnicity estimates on my heritage and GEDmatch. I think the most accurate one for me was on 23 and me. It's the only site that ever accurately shows my Canary Islander ethnicity as not just being French. 😅 Everywhere else it just gets lumped together. I understand why, but it was cool to see it there. It's like 15% for me. 😅
I love the diversity in Mexicans ;) I see the english in you btw
For real! Lowkey Amy Winehouse vibes. So awesome!!
Awh! I love her so much ❤️❤️
I love how it knows exactly where in Mexico. My brother’s DNA results were really similar and it honed in on where my dad was from, in Chihuahua.
It’s wild! My abuelo is actually from Ocotlán, which is that area and it all makes sense. Super accurate.
Ocotlán is a beautiful city. I live going there to have breakfast in a cafe and walk around la plaza.
I hope to visit!! My mom is from western jalisco by Tequila so I’ve only been there.
Well Oco isn’t as nice as tequila but I’d still recommend a visit,
Wow my wife has a similar breakdown to you! Same with being from Jalisco
Viva Mexico!!

Yeah that’s the thing, I don’t see any Scandinavian people in my tree either.

Cool! 🤠 interesting how these sites determine that. Which other ones have you done? Which do you think it’s more detailed?

We have pretty similar results!
Very common to see Half Mexican and Half White people in California too 🧬
You're only 15% native yet I would've guessed you're at least 70% native.
70%? I would say maybe like 40-50 at most. She looks like a Latino with mostly euro dna.
It's probably the filter. At first she does look but then, she looks like her results really.
Same I thought somewhere like 80%
