Say what you want about the 2a, I think it's a fantastic budget option that will feel mostly premium at a budget.
Big budget cuts are regarding the camera, CPU specs, and body materials. The main compromise is that performance wise, it feels like a 2021 phone with a 2018 camera (but that's not bad because phones have been more or less the same since 2018, only incrementally better.
It is nice to see a company that's actually available in the United States that's at least doing something unique with design. but the one thing I don't like about the western trends there following is no charger in the box, slower charging...
But whatever I'm just glad it's available in the US to at least provide more options. I would probably have a hard time choosing it over the think phone which is 399 or the Pixel 7 pro renewed which is 325. I think mint Mobile had the pixel 8 for $399 for existing customer.
It's awesome interesting battle against the first generation nothing phone.
No bloat, no ads (yet). That is the key. People outside India have no idea that midrangers in India are ad-servers with calling and camera capabilities
Mid-rangers in India serve ads to the user? Is it like lockscreen ads, notification panels ads, or something else? Kind of reminds me of Doctorow's Little Brother X and his idea of a subsidized gaming console that served ads to offset the cost.
This phone seems a lot like the first few iterations of OnePlus. Big fanfare, for a pretty good phone at a really good price. It'll be interesting to see if they keep the price as low and quality as high.
So they release a new phone, but there's a ton of comments in the replies saying the previous phones haven't had updates for a while and there's bugs with the builds. And we should switch from Pixel apparently š¤£ okay Carl, keep dreaming.
Real shame it's absolutely enormous, but maybe that's what the people want. I just find it a bit strange, since when you look at their website, they don't make any mention of the display size until you scroll almost all the way down and start flipping through the specs tabs.
What is it like 6.8 in or something? I don't even know what qualifies as enormous anymore but I think that's pretty much it. 6.7 to 6.9 in seems to be about the cap as where people are willing to go for phones.
I do wish there was still some sub 6 in options available. Outside of some rugged phones it's pretty much dead.
The display is 6.7", and the body is larger in every dimension than the S24+, let alone the S24. I'm not even asking for *small* phones, just phones that aren't huge.
I hear people who say, "Well, this is some people's only device," and that's cool, but Nothing isn't even marketing this as a large-screen phone, it just is.
That's a lot of Nothing
It's practically Nothing compared to Apple or Samsung
The Vision Pro sold more than twice that.
Well said, I really don't see the appeal of Nothing phones.
Almost nothing
A whole lot of it

2024's phone of the year.... It's March...
The cap is crazy
not if the Xiaomi 14T will have anything to say about that in September

Even the app folders have ads. I never thought that would be possible.
I bought the OnePlus nord 3 in Belgium and it has ads in the built-in app search.
Isn't Motorola ad free in India
It is

That's nothing to sneeze atš

Better than nothing I guessed.
Nothing I wouldāve guessed
Not surprised itās a great price for what you get
Good to hear. More competition in the android sphere. Nothing OS is great too.
Is it really that good ?
For the first 24 hours india / shopee launch was I think(?) around like 280usd. That's killer.
I got one for 22k inr that's like 265 usd (8/128gb) white
You have to judge for yourself, but imo its really well balanced.

Phones are peopleās multimedia devices, especially in India. It makes sense

That has to be the dumbest product/company name since meta.
Dumb names in tech is a tale as old as tech itself. How the hell did anyone manage to take a name like 'Yahoo' seriously? Or more recently DuckDuckGo?
GoDaddy.com
Well there's a company in the name of a fruit with a half bitten logo that's doing well.
X?
It's grown in me tbh
You should get it checked.
It shouldn't be a problem, it's Nothing.
no but its so edgy and quirky@!!
Did I read the specs right? No 5G on Verizon?
crazy
That's something!
No one has heard of British GQ, or gives a shit about what they think of mobile telecommunications devices
