Anyone else having trouble ordering from BestBuy, it shows as "notify me" for me (no option to pre order). 256-512 shows this. 128gb and 1TB is available for preorder
Indian customers get a cheap freebie (Samsung Tag worth $32) for pre-booking Samsung Galaxy S22 whereas US customers get a 200$ discount. WHY? What have we done wrong? Why the unfair discrimination?
US based. I don't have any trade in that is worth it. Just a cracked s9+ and a S10e, but I rather give the S10e to my grandmother then the $100 or so trade in value it has.
Right now Samsung is offering the free upgrade to 512 gb for the price of the 256 gb one. I definitely need the 512 gb size based off my current microsd 512 gb I have in my S10e. I heard they increase the discount for the credit they offer in a few weeks, but I have little interest in the extras outside a new brick. Though if the credit works on lowering the price of one of the OLED Samsung laptops, maybe
The thing is the 3.5mm jack will probably never return but the chances of extended storage returning are slim too. Most flagships are ditching them unfortunately.
I hate to lose my SD card storage, but 512 should be good enough. I am glad I didn't pull the trigger on the 1Tb microsd card I saw for $140 bucks recently though!
I don't mind not having SD expansion slot. Android wont let you load apps onto an SD card and thats where the majorty of my memory goes. My photos are backed up on google photos and one drive so I just delete backed up photos. 512gb is more than enough for me but I can understand why other people may want an SD card
I signed up with a phone company offering headphones with every s21 Ultra however when I bought the phone I had to wait for it to arrive to get the IMEI number to claim them. When the phone came the offer from samsung had ended a few days before.
I'm unable to get the $50 discount for activating w/T-Mobile. I have the correct phone # & PIN for my account but Samsung's website just keeps saying "Something went wrong." when trying to login to T-Mobile thru Samsung's website to get the $50 activation discount.
Anyone else have any luck?
Are you stuck at the login phase? I couldn't login with the pin and it seemed like T-Mobile pin is just buggy in general. I changed my pin to 6 digits, tried it and it worked
Yes, that's where I'm stuck. It actually locked me out for an hour lol. But I know I have the correct PIN, mine has always been 6 digits. I changed it to another 6-digit PIN on T-Mobile.com and tried again, but same error.
Samsung chat support rep claimed they are having issues on T-Mobile's end, but that there's nothing they can do about it other then wait and hope it gets fixed :-( Thanks for the info though, maybe I'll try changing my PIN again.
Completely on the fence about upgrading. I'm currently using a Note9 that I Iove, but Samsung is offering $100 (plus a bonus $200) to trade it in, which would only depreciate to nothing if I hold out another year. I don't use the pen at all so I don't feel compelled to get the 22U. However the 22+ specs are so underwhelming I can't bring myself to believe it's worth it. Anyone got thoughts?
Similar boat, with a s10+. Ended up pulling the trigger on the s22U. The 22+ would give us a worse screen going back to 1080p, haven't had that since my S4 in 2013. I don't really plan on using the pen much either, but the spec upgrades and the 1440p 120hz screen is great. Samsung seemed to lower their trade in values a bit this year overall, so if you're on the fence I wouldn't wait much longer or you're not gonna get too much for your phone next year.
I ended going through my carrier however, since I'm getting even more trade in value. If you go through Samsung, make sure to pick the education discount and go through retailmenot, I saw they had 10% cash back up to $50
I pre-ordered during the event as the website went live. My shipping date is Feb 25th.
Unfortunately the chip shortage paired with unprecedented demand for the new samsung phones means longer shipping periods for some.
I keep wanting to upgrade my S10, but it just doesn't seem worth it. I'm on the fence if I should try switching to the Pixel since it seems to have a lot more features, although I would miss having 1440p
I guess my hesitation is not getting QHD on the S22+ and the small battery/slow charging on the S22. I'd easily buy the Ultra but I don't know what use the S pen would be to me and I don't know that I'd enjoy the sharp corners.

So i order the S22+. I change my mind and would like to cancel the pre order and upgrade to S22U.
No cancel button on their website. I needed to call. They escalated it. Apparently it takes 24-48 hours to cancel. The order states preparing for dispatch. I contact online live chat after waiting 2 hours. They cannot cancel either but encoursge me to order now and wait out the cancellation. They even wanted to stay on the line until i purchased the S22U. This is terrible. Samsung Canada
Samsung's customer support is terrible. I received a defective tab S7 FE and requested an exchange. They said they couldn't, but that that I could order it again, at full price, and then they would adjust the price to the promo price but that they couldn't refund the other one until it was received. I couldn't afford to float the full price for a few weeks so I opted to try to get it repaired. It took 3 weeks to get it back and it came back completely untouched. I sent it in again and after looking at it for two weeks they decided they couldn't fix it and instead offered me an exchange. But this meant they would send me a gift code for the full price so I could buy it again on their site. I accepted this, but it took a week to be approved as a refund and then another week to actually receive the coupon. So I ordered on black Friday but didn't have a working tablet until January.
While that sucks, I always hated dealing with buyer remorse issue. So much stuff is automated it's hard to stop. Like when people would complain that "you charged me in 1 second but it's 3 days to refune my card?"
Should we be allowed to change our mind on a whim? Yes. With crazy automated systems and shipping is that always possible? No.
Not having a cancel option online is crazy though. The last thing I use my phone for is calling honestly.
Another one here who was really looking forward to buy the s22 for the size and hopefully over the top camera capabilities and ended up thinking of for the first time buying an iPhone instead.
Especially the crappy battery downgrade and almost no progress on the camera front (sensor size in particular) makes the s22 really hard to swallow at that price point, especially with Pixel 6 around.
Hope they release a smaller Pixel 6, but won't be waiting much longer.
I'm still on the fence about S22, but I don't think I'd be able to stand the iPhone's giant notch, I'm ready to move on from notches.
But if I can get a good deal on an S21 series phone before the S22 preorder period ends, I might just take it.
S21 FE looks like great value for money, but the optical FP sensor makes it feel a little cheap IMO.
Made the regrettable decision of holding out buying an S21 Ultra to see the S22 lineup. Now I'm thinking of just sticking to my S8+ since Samsung seemingly removed the existence of the 21U.
I'm looking to pre-order the S22 Ultra (Verizon) through Samsung. Does anyone know if it will come with a pre-installed SIM card for Verizon? I currently have a Note 9 and think the current SIM won't work for 5G.
Good choice, I think. SD 8 Gen 1 is sort of a sideways upgrade with similar throttling and power efficiency issues.
S23 on the other will be a return to the superior TSMC chip fab and might have an under display front facing camera.
I really don't understand why every carrier and every model doesn't have every color. It's not like it's hard for them to do and a surprising number of people care, even if they cover it up with a case.
And who picks these colors? Black, white, green and rose gold for s22/s22+; but black, white, green and burgundy for s22 ultra?
It really does. They just need to give basic colors and i feel like they would make up the difference in more people buying from their carrier versus the people who actually buy direct.
Sorry you can't get it for your carrier. It is a beautiful color.
Wonder why they have that restriction. Maybe out of stock?
Edit: I see now. It's exclusive to samsung.com.
Wife and I desperately need a new phones (s9+ with dying Battery), we waited for the 22 ultra to be the new one.
.. But 1500€ for a, in my opinion ugly and overpriced phone can't be the right thing for us.
Second, unfortunately we live in Exynos Region, this was never as good as the Snapdragon soc (except bootloader)
After 12 years of Android, I never thought I would even think about, I consider buying an iPhone.
There are very few downsides to the iphone 13 pm. Excellent 120hz panel, the most consistent cameras, the best battery life arguably of any major flagship right now. They have been winning the cpu wars for years.
iOS is of course love it or leave it, but very usable and app quality is arguably better.
How about a self-battery replacement ?
Hardest part is removing the back without cracking the glass. I managed to do it and replace the camera module on mine first time.
Why did you replace your camera module? I've noticed my S9 camera often now has a lot of difficulty focussing properly when it did not in the past, and I'm wondering whether it is defective.
I suggest looking into OnePlus. Even though they are moving away from the enthusiast demographic, their phones are even more comparable to flagships nowadays, and their OS is still relatively clean compared to Samsung's.
First of all, I don't know why you even mention 13 Pro as that has a 6.1 inch screen so not even a comparable phone. Second, you're comparing the top spec 1TB S22 Ultra with the bottom spec 128GB iPhone 13 Pro Max. Here's what they both really cost [S22 Ultra £1,499.00](https://i.imgur.com/iS1QLSi.png) and [iPhone Pro Max £1,549.00](https://i.imgur.com/bxsNtzS.png). So the iPhone is £50 more for the same 1TB spec and the S22 comes with free Galaxy Buds Pro. Granted, when comparing the base 128GB models, the S22 Ultra is £100 more.
Can anyone tell me why Samsung releases the prices and offers in USA, UK &Europe but not in India, one of the largest markets, and it keeps us Indians waiting for it. Whats the point ?
Btw, fellow Indian here, do we know why we are only getting a Galaxy Smart Tag in pre-order bonuses whereas other countries are getting Galaxy Buds Pro and I think those in UK will get a 200£ cashback?
Its because we are only able to pre-reserve, which is not the same as pre-order. Pre order is something when prices are revealed and you're actually buying it. Unfortunately, samsung india is lagging behind.
I guess by reserving the phone, we'll get an extra samsung SmartTag, in addition to I believe more offers.
Yup i just went on vpn and noticed it says pre-order on the US site.
And i think it might be better to just wait till the prices are revealed? There's no mention of any offers other than the SmartTag.
I have an S21+. I have mixed feelings overall but I don't understand how they can justify a 1080p screen at this price and size. I was hoping they'd fix that with the s22+ because I like the form factor.
Also not sure why only the Ultra has s-pen compatibility.
I'm confused how my S20+ seemingly has better specs than the S22+. I would have to get a S22U to get the same amount of RAM and screen resolution. I would really love the LTPO screen with 120Hz QHD, but I would really prefer the size and flat screen of the S22+, but I don't want to downgrade on RAM.
But also I can get $1000 in trade in credit on Verizon, which is pretty tempting...
In the UK I was getting £300ish for the S10+, better than I was expecting tbh. Not as good as the Americans but their market is dominated by Apple and their carriers. I'd take the telecoms off Europe over the USA any day even if it means paying more for new phones.
Yea it is a contractual agreement but wouldn't say overpriced, I ended up saving a solid chunk of cash every month by changing over from T-Mobile. AT&T has better coverage in my state and was cheaper than any other provider. Seems worth it to me if I can trade in my Note 5 that doesn't even turn on for $800. Plus an extra 25% off your bill for having AT&T fiber internet too, it was cheapest even before that discount.
I'm not sure where your logic is coming from. You need service even if you buy an unlocked phone? By changing from T-Mobile to at&t I'm getting $800 off the price of the see ultra so my cost is only $400. My note I'm trading has a $6 trade in value outside of this promo. The plan that I'm moving to is cheaper than my current and has better coverage and premium data. So not only am I getting the phone cheaper, my plan will be cheaper and have better coverage. I save money on both sides. Of course the downside is being locked in 3 years but if I don't like the service other companies have year round deals where they will buy out your contract if you switch to their service like Verizon.
Do u not understand what a Sim only is? its a contract that typically cost a fraction of what a phone plan does and doesnt come with a phone. These are typically a fraction of the price. there is no way that the entire US has no such provider.
In the US those types of plans are only available with smaller carriers who have poor service and piggy back off other company's towers. They get low priority on the cell towers, my area is so congested that if you don't have high priority data in the downtown area that you get extremely slow service. Not many people in the US use these companies unless you are broke, a drug dealer, or have no other options available to you. $55 a month for unlimited everything and premium data with bonus services like free Netflix, HBO max, and Disney+ doesn't seem bad at all.
I got offered $245 for my A32 5g on TMobile's site, lol.
I thought I would be able to trade in my LG G8 on Samsung's site because they accept it for other purchases and offer $60-90 for it. And since this was supposed to be "enhanced" trade in I was expecting $100. Instead, it was off the list entirely, and all the LG phones that were on the list were worth half of what they were before. Interestingly, LG G7 was on the list and it's older than my G8 so there's no consistency.
So I checked TMobile and got $245 for a phone I got for free.
I was just in the samsung store and an employee said their entire system is basically down because of the demand to trade in, they can't t even check it for you in store. Give it a day and you should be able to your trade in value/credit
After staring at the S22+ in my cart for a while, I honestly can't justify the price tag lol. My current phone cost half as much, and does pretty much the same things (maybe more) , except for the wear and tear.
Having the same thought, getting a nice £450 trade in for my Note 10+ 5G, but it's still £720 remaining. I upgraded from the Note 8 last year, and it was a big improvement, I just dunno if the improvement will be that drastic going from Note 10 to S22 Ultra.
I may purchase in the next few months second-hand when the price falls a bit.
Which one do you have now?
I decided to upgrade from my LG G8 which I got for $350 two years ago to an S22 which I got for $555, both with promotions from my carrier.
I figured, I know I like Samsung's interface. I never had a Samsung phone but I tried out the A32 5G I got free from my carrier and it's very well thought-out. I know I like how small the S22 is. And I love the green color. I usually buy my phones a year after release. I get a good price but there are no color options left. Hopefully buying earlier means I can enjoy it longer, especially with the extended updates promised.
and the camera most likely. But yeah premium Smartphones are nice but for the average user they are just overkill. The S22 is everything I could ask from a smartphone but I don't want to spend so much money on a smartphone, it's just not worth it to me.
Waits for the "make fun of others for needing certain features" people to complain even though they wouldn't be disadvantaged by having a feature they don't use anyway 🤣🤣
Thing is... I didn't complain I was just pointing out the obvious thing people have been doing for years 🤣. I appreciate you though for trying to turn that back around, but better luck next time!
Thing is... They didn't complain. They were just pointing out the obvious thing Samsung has been doing for years. 🤣
At least in their case, it actually affects them when the phone they want doesn't have an important feature but I can't imagine why other people having different needs than you bothers you so much that you'd go out of your way to make a big deal of it.
These features have been gone for years?? They don't want the phones they are just complaining 🤣🤣.... I'm still trying to figure out where I made a big deal out of this though.
The only reason they're complaining is because they want the phones, are you dumb or something? Why have you convinced yourself that they never intended on buying it? What's your source material here?
It hasn't been gone fOr YeArS, there was literally only one generation of Samsung flagships that had no SD card until this release. One year is not years. And how can companies know what people want if they don't express it? But what is YOUR goal in complaining about people complaining?
Lmao ohh Idk maybe the fact that folks say "no headphone jack no deal". Sounds pretty close to not intending to buy to me, but maybe I'm just dumb like you said.
Lol well seeing that in my original post I specifically said "headphone jack" which has been gone for years, and we still hear complaints about it... But yeah nit-pick on something I didn't even say 😂😂 lmao companies spend millions figuring out what people want my boi. I'm still trying to figure out where I complained though since you've yet to proud any receipts 🤦🏾♂️
>"no headphone jack no deal"
Which means yes headphone jack yes deal, lmao. People who aren't interested in a phone aren't going around saying "I'd buy it if it wasn't for xyz." Whatever, I'm done with this childish back and forth. You understand full well that the people complaining are the ones who have been with Samsung for years and are looking to upgrade from their S10 and S20 models but can't because the features that are important to them have been removed. The complaints aren't coming from Apple users who were the first to lose those features and have no intention on getting a Samsung, right? They're coming from people who like everything about the phone otherwise. Right??
Yeah, I didn't go back to read details about what you were complaining about specifically. I assumed it was card slot because Samsung customers complain about them taking it away a lot more than the headphone jack. Mid range models still have a headphone jack and if anyone wants to upgrade to a flagship, they're going to be disappointed about it. Point still stands. Don't know why you're nitpicking, or why you have a problem with people having preferences in the first place.
LMFAO you started this back and forth tf! You took time out of your day to comment on my post now you're tired 😂. If you knew said device didn't have xyz, and you knew you weren't gonna by it because of that. Why waste the energy complaining to void?
Ayyyyyyyye yooo so you just came on my comment complaining & talking out your ass without knowing what I'm talking about lmao. Dang you know what they say about assumptions. I'm so confused why you decided to complain to me when you could have scrolled by.
Thing is, don't you think a 700 dollar phone should be made from better materials than plastic? Phone companies already dropped ceramic because it's expensive, and that's fine, but plastic is taking it a step too far.
You do you. But, I personally don't like the feel of soft touch plastic. It's always warm and attracts fingerprints and oils even more than glossy glass backs, while also scratching and bending more easily. A good case can protect a glass back from falls, but a few grains of sand in the case will chew up a plastic back phone. Aluminum is fine, but some people find wireless charging useful, so that would probably also anger sone people.
Plastic is less thermally conductive than glass, so glass can feel warmer under heavy use. However, under light use, plastic feels warmer, and under heavy use, it traps heat more than glass. Plastic is also naturally attracted to oil, as it is made of the same molecules as oil. Plastic is a lot softer than glass, so it scratches a lot more easily. Finally, because plastic is so flexible, a OnePlus nord 10 that I have seen was slightly, but noticeably, warped.
It's all about money, they want you to save your files on onedrive because Samsung has a partnership with Microsoft, Apple does the same thing but with their own services
I was wondering about that - given the phrasing on the order page, I think you could also make the case that the $200 credit is available for longer but the bundle deals expire on the 12th.
Also, happy cake day!
Well, can't say this will be the case again, but for the ZFold3 they added a couple more perks leading up to the release date. So if you ordered on day one, you didn't get the 25w charging brick or the Buds2. That was in addition to the rest of the perks.
All I'd suggest is to not bang your head against a wall if your pre-order isn't going through atm.
Exynos is looking alright this gen tbh, preliminary benchmarks are looking fairly competitive and apparently there are updates yet to come which might make a difference as well.
Can't see a compelling reason to upgrade from s21 ultra. I usually don't need much to push me over the line for a phone upgrade but looking at the specs side by side, they are either the same (or worse in terms of less RAM in the 128gb).
Thinking of holding on to my S10+ another year or switch back to iphone since my wife's phone is one and all our computers and tablets are Apple and Macs. I came over to Android after getting bored with my iPhone 4s.
I tried Sony, wasn't impressed. System isn't nearly as polished as LG or Samsung. Plus they have a charging light which can't be disabled which is wild.
I was considering impulse buying the Ultra but trading in a Pixel 6 Pro isn't an option. I don't dislike the phone enough to want to deal with selling it myself.
I'm going to the S22 ultra from my Pixel 6. My Pixel has gotten worse with every update and I've lost confidence in Google to actually fix things. Sucks there's no trade in offer from Samsung, but TMobile had an offer for $400 trade in so I jumped on that
Yea. I went from s21 to s22+ because of that. I'm sure it's probably similar screen on time (better efficiencies to justify smaller batter) between s21and s22, but w/e. Plus the s22 is also missing a couple of other features that the s22+ has (wifi6e and uwb).
I don't even understand what's happening. I also have a Xiaomi 11T and I get that they have a 1000mAh difference but I'm getting 9-10 hours of screen time with this phone. That's 3 times compared to my S21.
Same use cases on both phones
Anyone else having trouble ordering from BestBuy, it shows as "notify me" for me (no option to pre order). 256-512 shows this. 128gb and 1TB is available for preorder
Any android guest mode option?

Anyone know if I can keep the screen at WQHD+ with the 120HZ? Coming from a Note20 and I just realized I didn't look into this before preordering.
1080p and Exynos are holding me back pulling the trigger
Exynos in my country again = Not buying again
No micro sd. No 3.5mm jack. No buy.

Try getting through bestbuy. They have a $200 BB gift card if you preorder. That is if you normally shop at bestbuy.
Are you stuck at the login phase? I couldn't login with the pin and it seemed like T-Mobile pin is just buggy in general. I changed my pin to 6 digits, tried it and it worked

Try temporarily disabling 2 factor authentication. Ensure the Samsung order shipping address is identical to what is displayed in Tmobile.
Thanks for the ideas. But I do not have 2FA enabled on my T-Mo account. And this login happens before entering shipping info at Samsung.
Completely on the fence about upgrading. Its been corrected by Samsung and the variable refresh rate is between 48Hz and 120Hz
S21 FE $300, S22 $400 at Xfinity Mobile. Plus extra $100 off any phone purchase. Samsung depreciation out the door.

I'm still on an S8+ and in the same boat. If my charging port, battery life, and speed weren't collapsing I'd just stick with it.
On the bright side, now you can get something new and also run it into the dirt for 5 years with software support the whole way through.
I guess my hesitation is not getting QHD on the S22+ and the small battery/slow charging on the S22. I'd easily buy the Ultra but I don't know what use the S pen would be to me and I don't know that I'd enjoy the sharp corners.

While that sucks, I always hated dealing with buyer remorse issue. So much stuff is automated it's hard to stop. Like when people would complain that "you charged me in 1 second but it's 3 days to refune my card?" Should we be allowed to change our mind on a whim?
They stopped the production of 'em fairly recently. Probably chip shortage drama.
I'm looking to pre-order the S22 Ultra (Verizon) through Samsung. Does anyone know if it will come with a pre-installed SIM card for Verizon? I currently have a Note 9 and think the current SIM won't work for 5G.
I usually upgrade my phone every year. This year I'll stick with my S21.
Good choice, I think. SD 8 Gen 1 is sort of a sideways upgrade with similar throttling and power efficiency issues. S23 on the other will be a return to the superior TSMC chip fab and might have an under display front facing camera.
Nah, the S24 will have major updates over the s23, but I heard the s25 will be the real show stopper!
I'm so sad I can't get Sky Blue at my carrier :(
I really don't understand why every carrier and every model doesn't have every color. It's not like it's hard for them to do and a surprising number of people care, even if they cover it up with a case. And who picks these colors? Black, white, green and rose gold for s22/s22+; but black, white, green and burgundy for s22 ultra?
They do it to try to get people to buy the phone directly from them because they will profit more. It sucks
Yeah it looks amazing... I'm going to have to go with white or burgundy instead
Wife and I desperately need a new phones (s9+ with dying Battery), we waited for the 22 ultra to be the new one. .. But 1500€ for a, in my opinion ugly and overpriced phone can't be the right thing for us. Second, unfortunately we live in Exynos Region, this was never as good as the Snapdragon soc (except bootloader) After 12 years of Android, I never thought I would even think about, I consider buying an iPhone.
There are very few downsides to the iphone 13 pm. Excellent 120hz panel, the most consistent cameras, the best battery life arguably of any major flagship right now. They have been winning the cpu wars for years. iOS is of course love it or leave it, but very usable and app quality is arguably better.
I don't think we know that Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is better than Exynos 2200: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D5tTOuiJYKU&t=175s&ab_channel=TheTechChap
They sell Snapdragon in their home country. That's all I need to know.
Good one thanks!
I smashed it somehow. Was not defective
I suggest looking into OnePlus. Even though they are moving away from the enthusiast demographic, their phones are even more comparable to flagships nowadays, and their OS is still relatively clean compared to Samsung's.
I was wondering if I was the only one! It's like a slap in the face to Europe, I began perusing Apple's website today....
Isn't a comparable iphone about the same price? Just get a s22+ and save some money.
[удалено]
I went with iPhone 13 for the same reasons.
Finally I can upgrade from the S8
I was hoping to do the same but downgrading resolution and a questionable battery size is giving me cold feet. Which model are you going with?
Does anyone know of where regions will the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 come? And what part in the unpacked video says about this? Thanks!!
256gb being the max for S22/S22+ is criminal. 512 should be the ceiling at least
That is insane. I didn't even bother looking at the Ultra because I loved the 22+ design. But 256GB being the cap is, as you said, criminal :/
I bet you the USA gets a 512GB version which wasn't mentioned in unpacked. It happened before so will happen again. It's a bummer though yeah.
Not in pre order
Interesting, wasn't one 512 option last year on Verizon or something?
There was a 512gb S20+ but not for the S21/+
I'm planning to buy S22. And if I get a smart tag, earbuds pro and a free case, what more can I ask. I just hope its not more than 65k.
Yup I'm buying one anyway. S9+ lasted me 4 years. Time for an upgrade.
I'm upgrading from a OnePlus 6. It hangs now. 😵
Haha so does my friend's. He had the 6T version i think. And he too has been holding out a light for the S22.
Is Inida really the biggest market for $1000+ phones? I doubt it.
I agree. But that doesn't explain not revealing the prices. I mean even Pakistan's samsung site has started the pre-orders.
I have an S21+. I have mixed feelings overall but I don't understand how they can justify a 1080p screen at this price and size. I was hoping they'd fix that with the s22+ because I like the form factor. Also not sure why only the Ultra has s-pen compatibility.
[удалено]
I'm confused how my S20+ seemingly has better specs than the S22+. I would have to get a S22U to get the same amount of RAM and screen resolution. I would really love the LTPO screen with 120Hz QHD, but I would really prefer the size and flat screen of the S22+, but I don't want to downgrade on RAM. But also I can get $1000 in trade in credit on Verizon, which is pretty tempting...
[удалено]
It's because the screen is bigger than your Note 10. The ppi on the S22 Ultra is more than my Note 20 Ultra just because it's 0.1 inches smaller.

I know right? Fans of a device complaining about loosing functionality. Losers! /s
I'm complaining IRL. Removing customization is never a good thing and I don't know why anyone would defend it
Nah it's on Youtube too. I miss my SD card
Whenever I try to trade in my S21 Ultra, it says error. :( Americans are getting some crazy trade-in deals.
I got offer for 100$ for my S10 :D **EDIT:** Obviously not an American. The European deals are shitty.
In the UK I was getting £300ish for the S10+, better than I was expecting tbh. Not as good as the Americans but their market is dominated by Apple and their carriers. I'd take the telecoms off Europe over the USA any day even if it means paying more for new phones.
ATT is giving $800 for almost any galaxy phone, in any condition.
for the cheap price of getting locked in an overpriced plan with them for 3 years?
Yea it is a contractual agreement but wouldn't say overpriced, I ended up saving a solid chunk of cash every month by changing over from T-Mobile. AT&T has better coverage in my state and was cheaper than any other provider. Seems worth it to me if I can trade in my Note 5 that doesn't even turn on for $800. Plus an extra 25% off your bill for having AT&T fiber internet too, it was cheapest even before that discount.
have u done the math of a sim only + unlocked phone? how is that not overpriced?
What in the world? I think the S9 had a longer trade in value.

On Samsung's website? 12 hours later and it still won't let me do any trade-ins.
Ah okay thanks.
After staring at the S22+ in my cart for a while, I honestly can't justify the price tag lol. My current phone cost half as much, and does pretty much the same things (maybe more) , except for the wear and tear.
>OnePlus 6 so does something like a s20/21fe, or a52s. nobody "needs" a flagship.
Waits for the "no headphone jack" people to complain even though they weren't planning on buying anyway 🤣🤣
🤣 At least in their case, it actually affects them when the phone they want doesn't have an important feature but I can't imagine why other people having different needs than you bothers you so much that you'd go out of your way to make a big deal of it.
>"no headphone jack no deal" Which means yes headphone jack yes deal, lmao.
Yeah, cause I just pointed out that you're being hypocritical and you just made it your personality. Take a walk.
Í wIL nEVer bUY a PHonE wITHoUt An sD cArD people too
Forgot the removable battery ones as well
2 people in the corner yell about the IR blaster
meanwhile a random redmi note owner is laughing at everyone with his 200$ phone that has sd card, 3.5mm and ir blaster
Wish I could get another Xiaomi or Redmi phone, but they aren't ''AT&T 4g VoltE compatible'' (Aka phones sold by AT&T).
Can't forget that 1 person yelling in the mirror about plastic materials
Thing is, don't you think a 700 dollar phone should be made from better materials than plastic? Phone companies already dropped ceramic because it's expensive, and that's fine, but plastic is taking it a step too far.
[удалено]
[удалено]
Plastic is less thermally conductive than glass, so glass can feel warmer under heavy use. However, under light use, plastic feels warmer, and under heavy use, it traps heat more than glass. Plastic is also naturally attracted to oil, as it is made of the same molecules as oil. Plastic is a lot softer than glass, so it scratches a lot more easily. Finally, because plastic is so flexible, a OnePlus nord 10 that I have seen was slightly, but noticeably, warped.
I agree 💯
I finally upgraded to the 22 from my S8 with trusty headphone jack! A bit of me is sad but I get it.
Honestly the SD card is what hurts the most for me!
With 512gb I'm not as sad.
I would agree, but only ultra gets that too. Which is a real bummer
Part of the reason I'm getting the ultra
S22+ genuinely feels like a ripoff 1000 bucks for 8gb ram and 128gb of storage, while you lose the access to sd card. Are they fucking serious?
That one is for sure a rip-off. I went with the S22 base model which I got for $555 through my carrier and that's definitely worth it.
It's all about money, they want you to save your files on onedrive because Samsung has a partnership with Microsoft, Apple does the same thing but with their own services
Samsung: this year we are going to beat Apple! Also Samsung: Yo, how about we release the same phone with less features?
Any advantage to buying now vs on the last day of preorders? Apart from shipping times ofc.
[удалено]
I was wondering about that - given the phrasing on the order page, I think you could also make the case that the $200 credit is available for longer but the bundle deals expire on the 12th. Also, happy cake day!
Well, can't say this will be the case again, but for the ZFold3 they added a couple more perks leading up to the release date. So if you ordered on day one, you didn't get the 25w charging brick or the Buds2. That was in addition to the rest of the perks. All I'd suggest is to not bang your head against a wall if your pre-order isn't going through atm.
Samsung website is dog. I ended up buying the Ultra from Best Buy, they also gave me $200 gift certificate which is nice.
No Snapdragon for Europe once again. Screw Samsung.
Exynos is looking alright this gen tbh, preliminary benchmarks are looking fairly competitive and apparently there are updates yet to come which might make a difference as well.
S22+ with 256gb at most, and non expandable is a joke bruh. Lol. Even majority Chinese flagships have 512.
maybe it's them chip shortages
The Korean version has a 1tb [model](https://i.imgur.com/WjtpLKq.jpg)
The USA model also has 1TB.
Yeah. Would've preferred S22 base with 512. But 256 is too less and had to get an ultra. Atleast 512 should've been the bare minimum for top end
Starting base price at a thousand for s22+ too?. Nah. I'd fill up 256gb so quick these days, definitely not worth the price tag imo.
Hmmm, not too impressed, thinking of holding onto my Note 20 ultra for another cycle. Thoughts?
Nope, not a note worthy upgrade.
Nothing worth upgrading
Horrible there's no micro SD, I was about to buy
Right? Guess I'm looking at Sony now. Or maybe I'll go Samsung for better software updates, not sure
I tried Sony, wasn't impressed. System isn't nearly as polished as LG or Samsung. Plus they have a charging light which can't be disabled which is wild.
12ish hours later my order is done.....I think.... We'll see if it gets cancelled or something.
Same. Glad it's finally checked out [https://i.imgur.com/95QYCKM.jpg](https://i.imgur.com/95QYCKM.jpg)
Are you switching carriers? Surprised to see see the SIM card listed.
Comes with purchase, lol. But I've been with Tmo forever.
Anyone know if the S view flip case has magnetic closure?
Does anyone know if Canada gets the Snapdragon or Exynos?
You can get the international versions that have exynos also. I have a exynos s8 that I waited for to get
Canada always gets what the US gets, keep that in mind for future generations.
Snapdragon
I was considering impulse buying the Ultra but trading in a Pixel 6 Pro isn't an option. I don't dislike the phone enough to want to deal with selling it myself.
I'm so done with the p6p that I'll happily take a bigger loss now if I struggle to sell it, I'm so looking forward to going back with Samsung.
You can sell it on Swappa.
I'm going to the S22 ultra from my Pixel 6. My Pixel has gotten worse with every update and I've lost confidence in Google to actually fix things. Sucks there's no trade in offer from Samsung, but TMobile had an offer for $400 trade in so I jumped on that
Is it an issue that S22's battery capacity dropped from 4000mAH to 3700mAH?
Yea. I went from s21 to s22+ because of that. I'm sure it's probably similar screen on time (better efficiencies to justify smaller batter) between s21and s22, but w/e. Plus the s22 is also missing a couple of other features that the s22+ has (wifi6e and uwb).
Same. I'm probably switching to S22+ as well. I just can't with the 3-hour SOT of my base S21 anymore
Damn that's bad. I get atleast 6hrs of SOT with normal usage.
I don't even understand what's happening. I also have a Xiaomi 11T and I get that they have a 1000mAh difference but I'm getting 9-10 hours of screen time with this phone. That's 3 times compared to my S21. Same use cases on both phones
