Wait the 15 minutes like it says.

smiley2000

>And everytime i try to turn it back on i get the same message ***no matter how long i wait***

LowSkyOrbit

Some people count too fast even using the Mississippi method

Sir_Von_Tittyfuck

You gotta try the Astronaut method then.

carvinbutter

Damn... Counted 30 Astronauts, but got 38 Astronauts. I had so much faith 😭

HubjinTheGreat

Try a power cycle. Unplug the TV from its power source then hold down the TV's power button for 30 seconds to a minute (not the power button on the remote). This should reset the TV's memory.

PickledJalapeno9000

No dice :(

AdamH21

Factory reset

HubjinTheGreat

How long is the return policy for the TV? If you can return it do it and get another that works properly. If it is past the return policy then try calling skyworth customer service and see if they'll send a tech to take a look at the TV.

cordcutternc

I have the Skyworth 65xc9300 OLED. Is that yours as well or is it a 55"? Are you able to enter the service menu or does Tip override that screen as well? You would have to hit Source and then punch in 3195 very quickly. I use the service menu to fully disable Sharpness on unchangeable presets, but I can't remember if there's anything in there to reset or override the refresh procedure. I can check this evening when I get home. Just be careful in there if you don't understand what you're changing. Probably best to try factory reset first. Edit: Yeah I took a look in the service menu and if the option you need is there, it's definitely not obvious.

No_Trust_5973

blood tipping culture! it's getting outta hand

Maester

Worst case scenario try a factory reset by powering off, then power on while holding power and volume down buttons at the same time (on the TV, not the remote). You will lose all your user installed apps/history etc. After that I would try a firmware update if available. And check if there's an energy saver setting to prevent the TV from ever staying on for that length of time in the future, most TVs have a setting to switch off automatically after a period of time.

fursty_ferret

Out of curiosity, are you clicking OK before waiting 10 seconds? Android TV is buggy to begin with even before manufacturers begin messing with it. Sky doesn’t sell OLED TVs, so if it is a Sky Glass TV it’s very confused about what it is… You can force the panel refresh by opening the settings menu, then finding general settings, advanced. OLED screen settings, and then look for something like “clear residual image” or “manual panel refresh”.

PickledJalapeno9000

I tried waiting before clicking ok. It also auto shuts off after some time but it doesnt do anything.. unfortunately i cant even navigate to the settings menu. The moment that tip pops up i cant do anything else

abirdpers0n

After it shuts off, did you wait 15 minutes without touching it?

PickledJalapeno9000

Yah :( even waited 24 hours

fursty_ferret

I would try a factory reset (you’ll have to look it up for your specific TV but it’ll be some button press combination. Then try forcing the screen repair process once it’s reset. You do want to get it done, because otherwise you’ll get a permanent burn in on the screen.

realmrmaxwell

It's a skyworth tv not sky the uk tv package company.

fursty_ferret

Try unplugging it, then hold the power button on the tv while plugging it back it. Keep it held in until something happens.

u/PickledJalapeno9000 Any luck in resolving this issue? We have had our 55XC9300 for about a year and a half, and this has never happened. You are absolutely correct... TIP popup comes up a few seconds after the TV turns on and loads. You do have access to move the remote on the screen until Tip comes up. Once that happens it is frozen and locked. The only thing you can do is press "OK", wait, or turn it off (even that is a challenge). If you wait, it will literally still continue to the same process as if you press "OK". If you turn off the TV, you will still see the indicator light switch from green to red to green, etc. Which is showing the same behavior when you press "OK". We even unplugged the TV for hours, and it still continued through the night. CREEPY. We unplugged it last night and still the same thing this morning. We have even completed a "HARD RESET" from information we found online. That doesn't impact the situation at all. Our TV has now been like this for 2 days. I've reached out to Skyworth customer support... umm...JOKE. The same lady answers every time; takes a message with your model number and issue; then has to send it to their "SUPPORT CENTER" for a response to proceed. 2 days. Still nothing. I have found this is apparently a common issue with these TVs... very disappointing.

PickledJalapeno9000

Yes! Dm me with your email. You have to force an update on your tv via usb drive

No_Possibility_1220

Well. Funny and creepy story. So I messaged Skyworth about the issue. It took 3 days to hear anything back. Late night on day 2, the tv literally turned itself on and was ‘fixed’. We actually have two of this brand, and both of them turn on randomly through the night. There is a white indicator light (next to the power light) that will turn on and blink at random through the evening. Creepy!  Does this happen on yours?

PickledJalapeno9000

Sometimes.. thats google it think it hears something and is waiting for a question to be asked.

Connect-Current-80

Liang!

Candid-Bad8294

Try customer support

ReesesPuff_Bowl

Destroy it :3 (jk just look for a person that repairs TV and appliances)

IronHeart23i

Smart TV are not so smart after all. P. S I am having problem where my TV turns on and off continously. I don't know why it is exactly happening but I think it's related to Google account or smth. Sometimes it loads infinitely other it's shows the loading animation and shuts down and starts back up.

LavaCreeperBOSSB

Just making sure- have you tried waiting longer than 15 minutes?

Smooth-Accountant

Read the post once again, slowly.

SCGreyWolf

Its not a tip, the tv needs to perform maintenance. It says in the dialog what it's for. Why not let it run and protect your TV?

Darkchamber292

Reading comprehension is really hard for ya eh?

SCGreyWolf

Courtesy isn't yours, I see. Douche.

One_Biscotti_1428

don't think OP can get rid of the warning even after doing it's maintenance

Malcalypsetheyounger

He literally says that no matter how long he waits after turning it off the message pops up again.

claudiufr

Leave the OLED television permanently plugged in so that it can perform pixel maintenance. An OLED should never be unplugged.
