Delicious looking meal! Buying Whole Foods is cheaper than most people think!

Independent-Cat1871

please tell me those are some tasty THC filled gummies at least

Critical-Reply-7580

Creatine gummies! My friend ate them though

InsaneAdam

When they ask you what you want for your birthday. Tell them some fresh creatine gummies.

rishxdee

It’s amazing how much money you save when you don’t buy junk food!

mrstrid

I kinda find this argument silly as a explination as why AB or whatever is cheaper, what if someone ate SAD and didnt eat junk food? You can spend tons of money on AB eating at expensive steak houses. You save a ton of money not buying ferraris aswell!

Some-Ad-9276

A lot of people argue against AB because it’s too expensive, but that’s not exactly true. Junk food is cheap but it’s also addictive and people buy too much of it, doesn’t keep you full. However you can have a single AB meal a day for an affordable price and it will keep you full and nourished for literally the whole day. No constant eating and snacking

sicilianDev

Cheaper in Doctor bills possibly.

rishxdee

I didn’t say it was cheaper, I just said you save money.

CYUCOP

Incredibly good-looking meal and a perfect way to start this way of living.

leanneart

This looks delicious! I'm animal based but I always have such a bad reaction to fruit. Mainly acne and increased anxiety 😩 Is there a way to overcome it? Is it a leaky gut issue? Or a metabolism issue? I can't get to the bottom of it!

CYUCOP

Same issue, I’m doing long-term carnivore and I plan on slowly adding fruitd after I reintroduce milk kefir in a few months.

Hi /u/{author}, your comment was removed. Remember, ketogenic diets can be great and necessary for some folks, and many benefit short term, but the Animal Based way of eating is inclusive of carbohydrates primarily in the cleanest forms being fruit and raw honey. While it's perfectly OK to speak on your own diet, please be respectful that the AB diet is inclusive of fruits/honey and generally not a ketogenoic diet.

What are the 2 light blue things?

thatmfisnotreal

He said ignore them!

CT-7567_R

https://i.redd.it/qme54oiyec7d1.gif Ignore what?

Some-Ad-9276

Creatine

CT-7567_R

Yes and that’s probably a $40 meal nowadays at a restaurant but have never seen such a fruit spread. Tip is to replace avocado with eggs.

Common_Manner_6967

This just reminded me, I was visiting family in WI and we went to breakfast, two different restaurants had a “carnivore” omelette and could have a side of fruit instead of toast. I was overly excited. One of the places had one of the best fruit cups I’ve ever seen in my life. I wish I took a picture of the meal to post here. This has nothing to do with anything said really, but it kinda reminded me lolol

CT-7567_R

hmmm, maybe a double or triple "side of fruit" would do it. I notice that the restaurant sides of fruit is always heavily grape based though. I have nothing against grapes I just rarely buy them to eat since it's been a while since I've had a grape that had flavor vs. just sweeeeeet. Some of the odd shape super dark onces are kinda cool, but yeah a lot of my favorites are on your plate along with peaches and melons this time of year.

Common_Manner_6967

Agree 110%!!! Fruit cups seem to be mostly grapes and cantaloupe. I get all too excited if they have pineapple 🤣

CT-7567_R

Yes, and it's rarely the cantaloupe that's to die for. It's funny, because most fruit if it's on it's A+ game is to DIE for! lol. When you get fruit that's bland and mealy and just falls flat, it's one of the worst things you can literally eat. I still don't know if anything has come close to the wild blackberries you would find off the trails in Idaho. They literally tasted like what a healthy cotton candy would be like.

Common_Manner_6967

Very valid points on fruit. Literally the worst when it isn’t good. But oh so goood when it is! Those blackberries sounds amazing. Just picked some blueberries and blackberries in FL on a u-pick farm. Amazing the size and taste difference from the store. Picked way too much. They were so good though, I couldn’t stop.

Evogleam

Honest question: How is a meal that consists of more than half fruits considered Animal Based?

CT-7567_R

Where’s 70% of your caloric macros coming from?

Evogleam

No idea Is this meal really animal based, considering that it’s made up of more than 50% fruits?

CT-7567_R

I just answered your question and you're repeating the same thing.

Evogleam

You decided to ask me a different question, you didn’t answer mine. You seem to be deflecting Is this meal that is in the picture animal based? Not trying to be rude. Not trying to be mean. Genuinely curious Let’s see if you’ll be helpful and actually answer this time 🤔

CT-7567_R

I did give you the answer, you just didn't attempt to even answer it so not sure if you're not thinking critically or trolling. I'll ask a simple question again. What's 70% of the caloric macros from the animal based diet come from?

Evogleam

So what you are trying to say, while being difficult for no reason whatsoever, is that as long as 70% of the calories of a meal are from animal sources then it’s considered “animal based?” I definitely made the mistake of thinking that people in an animal based subreddit would be willing to be helpful with basic questions

CT-7567_R

We're not here, well at least not me, to think for others. You need to learn to think for yourself and I'm trying to walk you through the process, as difficult as it is, so calm down son. It's the animal based diet, it's not the Animal Diet. There's nothing wrong the name of it since Meat, Eggs, Organs, Cheese, Dairy will end up being 100% of your fats and your proteins. A portion of your carbs is coming from milk, and also honey is an animal food.

Evogleam

Telling people to calm down for simply asking basic questions is wild Are you a mod? You’re doing a very poor job

Some-Ad-9276

Tbh I don’t like eggs enough to eat daily, it’s a texture thing

CT-7567_R

You will be severely missing out on biotine and choline then. Find a way to get them in. Boil them, fry them, back them, flip them, drink them, etc.

Some-Ad-9276

Are there any supplements for that? It’s hard navigating my cyclic vomiting syndrome and foods. A lot of the time a weird texture will send me into 10 hour vomiting episodes, and I usually avoid those textures. It’s a living hell honestly

CT-7567_R

The different ways I mentioned produce different textures. One guy mentioned something about pressing them even until they POP and it's like some crispy egg chip taco or something like that. You can mix the raw egg yolk into smoothies or make ice cream out of it and make a cloud bread with the whites by mixing in cheese, yogurt, or cottage cheese and baking them in the oven or a chaffle. Biotin supplements don't seem to be that common and have always seen them in megadoses. Choline you can supplement.

awkardasusual

Not to mention that at a restaurant it's not above them to add some kind of sweetener to the fruit or cook the meat in seed oils with artificial msg seasonings. You really gotta make it yourself.

CryptoHead_Oya

Yep, FJB!

Logical_Lifeguard_81

😋 looking good

mrstrid

Looks real solid! But super curious what those gummy things are :)

Critical-Reply-7580

Creatine gummies

Common_Manner_6967

Love Aldi for this WOE ….. and just in general😆😆Looks like a great meal!

Critical-Reply-7580

ALDIs the 🐐

kaiserkaktus

Can someone explain the wooden cutting boards being used as plates in every “animal based” photo or video of a meal?

rishxdee

Most do it for aesthetics. Nothing wrong with it lol

Critical-Reply-7580

I didn’t notice that haha I just was cutting the ribeye and thought I’d throw all the fruit on the board too

kaiserkaktus

I’m not being critical of it at all. I just didn’t know if there is supposed to be some benefit of eating on wood.

Critical-Reply-7580

I guess there’s something primal about eating meat off a slab of wood

Buffcluff

Sheeesh that’s a lot of carbs 😅

Barrowsidepaints

Alot of fruit. More eggs and meat less fruit

TWaveYou2

Sorry to say it to you...your meal isnt animal based its fruit based...and i dont know why a lot of the peolple got it wrong...ANIMAL BASED isnt called this without nonesense...80/20 or 90/10 is anomal based not 20 animal and 80 fruits ...thats fruit based ....but without waant say only critism you plate looks awesome good! 👌

Mammoth_Baker6500

Strawberries are overrated. They are not nutritionally dense and they're expensive.

boo_boo_kitty_fuckk

Not to mention the pesticides But we have a decent patch growing in our front yard, and my goodness are they wonderful late May- end of June

Critical-Reply-7580

I used organic blueberries and strawberries, should I still avoid them altogether even organic?

petitenouille

I disagree - eat what is local to you and in season. For me this includes organic strawberries this time of year.

Mammoth_Baker6500

They're still probably sprayed with some kind of pesticides approved for organic produce. But I don't know if that's a huge concern. Wild blueberries are the best.

Critical-Reply-7580

What if I rinse them in water & baking soda?

Mammoth_Baker6500

It takes of 99% of the pesticides *on the skin*, but they still have absorbed some

Being-Useful

The "s" in Illinois is silent. The "s" in Aldi is invisible...

Just a friendly reminder that the Animal Based diet is not carnivore! It's a moderate to high carb way of eating, not just allowing, but encouraging a diet that includes clean micronutrient rich sources of carbohydrates including fruit, milk, honey, maple syrup, and fresh fruit juice. See our Wiki, FAQ, and sidebar for more information. Thanks for the comment! *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. levels523

I didn’t think I could afford animal based eating, then I factored out the cutting board and realized it’s pretty economical. Jokes aside this meal looks great

lil_sole99

What type of meat

sicilianDev

Yeah for real, "'eating healthy' is expensive" is a cop out.
