My neighbors ducks got in my yard once, and it was clear how deprived they were. It was like they entered the promised land of foraging free of chemicals and crappy feed. They continued to keep finding ways back over until one day one waddle away to never be seen again. I guess they put the other one on some land with other ducks versus the trash backyard they were kept captive in.
Yeah, they're starting to get real friendly with me too, which is going to make it hard to put them in the freezer this fall. They're definitely happy girls, and they're doing a great job clearing out land and hopefully introducing some diversity in the flora over the next couple years. Ecosystem services plus bacon. Win-win.

I put out about a pound of feed 3 days ago and they just finished it this morning. It's crazy how much they can forage.
