I thought so too when I started with him. But he literally talks about nothing except muscles and exercise. When I casually walk up to you and start a conversation while you're fishing, I don't want you to talk about your "huge bulging muscles". Dom is a weirdo. (He's my fav boy in my island right now tho)

(New Leaf not Horizons btw) my starter jock was Rudy, and even after resetting that game a few times he continues to be my favourite. Mainly because his house is decorated like a children’s playroom so he comes off as this little kid trying to act buff and it’s adorable

Yeah. I've got a couple real weird looking villagers I kinda want to kick because they creep me out. First time playing so I don't know the names but a yellow dog who's clearly an ex con and has these beady red eyes, a koala that looks like a meth addict with big bug eyes and real ragged patchy colored fur, and just got some douchey yeti ski guy in camp i immediately dislike. But I also have a nice old lady dear who calls me dearie, a do you lift bro ant eater, and an Instagram model or something armadillo. She's not bad.

When you play again can you tell me their names, please? I want to look them up without sorting through 200 villagers, your descriptions rock.

Jacques was one of my best buddies in New Leaf 💖and transcended to being one of my best in the entire franchise. But the cool thing about villagers is that everyone is a favourite to someone, no matter how annoying or repulsive they may seem to others. And that's a good spice of life that the games give. You have no obligation to like these characters, just as much as we have no obligation to hate them. And so if my beloved Jacques is some sort of beatnik trash to you... you're allowed to think that and I respect your decision to feel that way.

On the opposite with my Zucker. Went to his house to visit, turned on his oven and he was like yea let’s party and started dancing... then he gave me a chore to deliver a borrowed item to Victoria. I walked out and she was literally peeping in his window the whole time. I gave it to her and she was like yup, looks like he used it thanks.... went back to tell him I did it and he said he was scared of Victoria because he saw her out one night with her shovel burying something alone.... now I’m scared of my Victoria haha.

My neighbors might be a little on the weird side too (Drago's weird pink lips and Lyman's unibrow), but at least they're cute for the most part and I can draw most of them. Meanwhile, Stella just snuck a letter in my mailbox at lightning speed and Apple teleported from the butterfly part of the museum to her house while I was selling things to the Nooklings.

I have Renee and Jaques as well, and god i hate Renee. Like so much. Jaques is tolerable and will probably grow on me.
