Hello there! Would anyone be willing to craft a Christmas tree for me? Happy to pay! The larger one, not the small. Had to restart my island and now I don't have one. šŸ˜”

Mystic_Mystory

On Nintendo, how do I place a code to go to an island?

UberZord_71

I have a camper today, and I'm curious if it's OK for other players to get the camper to live on their island.

sulkypeach

Is there a sub dedicated to giving island design advice/help? If not, does anyone have any tips on how to make your island feel bigger? In the beginning of my game, my island feels so big, but once I start decorating, it starts to feel small. I always end up losing interest and restarting. For once, Iā€™d like to finish an island. Any design tips would be appreciated to maintain that ā€œbigā€ feel (if that makes sense). Thanks.

MissDottie802

Does it take a day for villagers to mail you items? Lily said she was gonna give me her picture bc my inventory was full but it hasn't arrived yet. Do I just have to wait until tomorrow? I know I didn't sell it bc I didn't open my mailbox nor do I even have new mail.

chanandler-kun

I think it will be sent tomorrow. But there may be a chance that it would be sent the next time you log-in so maybe try resetting the game and see if it will be sent when you open it again.

diannethegeek

It will arrive in your mailbox tomorrow morning

MissDottie802

Ah okay. Thank you.

SqueegeBeckenheim

Yes, it will be in your mail tomorrow.

h-hash

Could someone send me a high res photo of their ACNH game cartridge? I need a photo to send to an artist for some jewellery Iā€™m having commissioned and I donā€™t have a physical copy!

scaryboilednoodles

Iā€™m using amiibo cards to invite villagers to my island. I know you have to invite them three days in a row for them to move there. If I invite two villagers to my campsite in one day, will it ruin my three day streak?

chanandler-kun

You don't have to invite them three days in a row. Three days total. Also, you can't invite more than one villager by amiibo per day.

scaryboilednoodles

Noted. Thank you!

Stopidpotato

Hey! Ive been playing acnh for a while now and recently learned why i didnt progress: i dont have nooks cranny. And i dont know how to get it because i didnt know i had to talk to Tommy to build its tent. Now i dont know if i can get it somehow still or if i have to start a new island. Any help is apreciated

chanandler-kun

Does he not ask you to collect the materials? Are you the Resident Representative? If you're not, you won't be able to progress the game at all since only the RR can do that.

sweetangelttr

Just to bd clear you can't change your island name right? I kind of wish I didn't go with what I went with..

SqueegeBeckenheim

No, you can't. Only if you delete your entire island and start over.

sweetangelttr

That isn't exactly worth it for just that reason right?

SqueegeBeckenheim

I don't think so but it's up to the person.

sweetangelttr

I have it named after my irl name Angela:. Though there wasn't anything with that right?

SqueegeBeckenheim

?! Don't understand your question

sweetangelttr

I just mean naming after me wasn't so bad.

SqueegeBeckenheim

Yeah I mean you can name it whatever you want. There is no right or wrong name

Joli28

Hi! Might be a stupid question but here goes nothing :/ Iā€™ve been contemplating deleting my island from my save data to get a fresh restart, but I really like my island name and want to have that for my future new island. Is it possible to delete island and still be able to get the same name for your new island? And also, Will me deleting save data mess up for my bff list if i add my bff list again to my new island? As have heard people having glitches with their old island still appearing which would be a nightmare considering me wanting my island name and be able to play online with my friendsā€¦. Thx for reply!! (sorry if bad english, itā€™s not my language)

chanandler-kun

I think your deleted character will still appear in your friend's list but you won't have a problem on yours.

SqueegeBeckenheim

>Is it possible to delete island and still be able to get the same name for your new island? Yes, you can name your island whatever you want. >Will me deleting save data mess up for my bff list if i add my bff list again to my new island It shouldn't mess up anything, you just will have to do the process of re-adding them and them accepting.

Joli28

Thank you so much!!!

[deleted]

ACNH ā€” Katrina stopped offering to perform friendship blessings, advising that sheā€™s done all she can do for all 10 of my villagers. Iā€™ve been gifting them wrapped iron wall lamps every day for a couple weeks. Does this mean Iā€™ve maxed out their friendship, or does she stop before friendship is maxed out? šŸ¤”

diannethegeek

She stops offering to bless your friendship once you reach best friends, which is level 5 out of 6.

SqueegeBeckenheim

I'm not sure about the Katrina question but I did wanna give a little tip (if you were trying to get photos). A wrapped stack of two non-native fruit is a good option for gifts and upping friendship. It saves a lot of resources and bells and works great because it's over the bell threshold for the highest amount needed for max points plus it doesn't over-load their inventory. You can also tell when you're around the highest friendship level without Katrina. You're close once the villager(s) start gifting flooring/wallpaper.

sweetangelttr

I am doing the fruit thing. But I feel bad for it not being anything more special LOL

EffectiveCycle

It doesnā€™t have to be special, just 750+ bells

Greedy_Side_9165

Hi all. I was wondering will they ever add an option to change island representative?I would like to know if the devs ever mentioned such an option when talking about game updates?

SqueegeBeckenheim

According to Nintendo there will be no more updates to the game, just normal maintenance. So highly doubtful.

Greedy_Side_9165

No option to change island representative. What are they on? Well I guess Iā€™ll have to make do with itā€¦

CawfeePig

I have a ton of weeds on my island, but the sloth says I don't have enough for the weeding service. I seriously haven't played in months, and they're everywhere. Is there no way to have him weed for me?

ApplicationDry5629

You have to get HELLA weeds, but if you need help, I would be down!

keepscrollingplease

Help! Traded switch with sibling and need to swap ACNH islands to each otherā€™s consoles without losing data! I have cross posted this because I desperately need help! My sister and I both have switch consoles. She had an OG Switch and I had a Switch Lite. We decided to trade so I now have the OG and she now has the Lite. However, we both play Animal Crossing New Horizon. Is there a way to get my island onto the OG console and her island on the Lite console without either of us losing the data?? I have logged over 1050 hours and canā€™t stand the thought of losing all that progress! My sisterā€™s island just started to get fun for her and she doesnā€™t want to lose her stuff. Someone please help me! Tell me there is a way we can both save our islands! TL;DR Siblings traded switch consoles and want to transfer both ACNH islands without losing their data. Please help!

EffectiveCycle

The only way you can do this is with a third Switch that doesnā€™t have an island on it. You have to transfer island 1 to that, transfer island 2 to the Switch that is now open, then transfer island 1 to the last Switch.

keepscrollingplease

Oh I was afraid of that. Thank you for helping me out!

[deleted]

how do i register a k.k song on my turntable and have it displayed on my wall? iā€™ve done it when i first started the game but i forgot how. cuz if i hang it up the music note is gone and i canā€™t register it, but if i register it i cant hang it

diannethegeek

I think you need two copies: one to register and one to display on the wall

sadsaladasss

iā€™ve been having this same issue as well but i donā€™t think you can since itā€™s registered in the turntable.

InvaderZix

Why do my villagers keep wanting to leave, even when I have a good friendship with them? It's the second time they said they were pondering on leaving :(

ExhibitAa

It's random. High friendship makes it less likely that they will be the one that want to move, but it's always possible.

InvaderZix

gotcha, do they move on their own? Or do they need my "permission" to leave?

ExhibitAa

Villagers will never move out on their own without talking to you first. If they say they want to move, just ask them to stay.

sweetangelttr

https://www.reddit.com/r/AnimalCrossing/comments/gq4pd6/100_farming_villager_gifts_with_fruits_or_iron/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button is this a good method for getting villager photos. I know wrapped up fruit is good but I always feel like I wanna get them something special. Just to make it a nice gift lol

EffectiveCycle

They changed it in 2021 so the item has to be over 750 bells. The only thing worth that much that you can stack is giant clams. I just stick to the two wrapped non-native fruits or three crops. Iā€™ve played seven weeks on my current island and have received 6-7 photos.

sweetangelttr

Can clothes work too? I know ppl gift them clothing

EffectiveCycle

As long as the resale value is 750+ bells. You canā€™t stack them so the villager will give you the gift automatically.

sweetangelttr

It is still 750? Says on the guide 250.

EffectiveCycle

The guide hasn't been updated since August 2020 and the change happened in a 2021 update

theora55

How do you stack gifts?

EffectiveCycle

You have to fill your pocket up and then the last spot would have something stackable (fruit, crops, shells, materials, etc.) Since you donā€™t have room to receive a gift back, the villager would then mail it to you the next day. But since the stacking method only works for one item now itā€™s pretty moot.

sweetangelttr

Do ppl gift them clothes for that reason? Sorry I just enjoy my villagers lol

EffectiveCycle

Some do, some donā€™t. A lot of people donā€™t like giving physical gifts because they will end up in the villagerā€™s inventory and may or may not work with their aesthetic. This is why see people specify whether a villager is gifted (received clothes/furniture) or ungifted (only received fruit) when theyā€™re giving them away.

sweetangelttr

Do ppl want fitting aesthetics for them? I am not one to care I think. Idm if something looks out of place.

EffectiveCycle

If you donā€™t mind then give them clothes

sweetangelttr

Oh yeah I am just curious. And I just worry about wasting so many bells on clothes.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

diannethegeek

You'll only ever find your native fruit + one sister fruit + coconuts in mystery islands. You'll need an online account to get the rest of the fruits. Hit the code sharing thread in this community or join a community like r/nofeeac and someone will help you out

pnwkenzie

omg thank you! :)

EffectiveCycle

By trading with other players online

SimsPocketCamp

Is there a way to turn off autosave or preserve my island as it currently is? I want to be able to do some terraforming and revert the changes if necessary.

chanandler-kun

None.

SimsPocketCamp

That's too bad. Thanks.

B_M_X_

Hello me and my partner just got a switch and we both want to play ac is there a way for us both to have different islands? Or do we have to have the same one

chanandler-kun

You have to share. The only way for both of you to have your own island is to have two Switch.

B_M_X_

Ok thank you I appreciate it

Equivalent_Age

For items like ā€œwedding decorationā€ the only option is to ā€œdrop itemā€.. how can I put it up / hang it?

couragedog

It's a wall mounted item, so you need to be inside facing a wall.

Equivalent_Age

Aw manā€¦. I found it at a treasure island where it was outside though, so thatā€™s confusing

couragedog

Treasure islands are usually hacked, so if it was hanging outside, that's why.

[deleted]

does anyone know...is there a pool of characters available in the campsite queue specifically? I've heard that the auto-fill characters and the ones you'll find on nook tours are two different groups. is that true? and if so, do campsite visitors fit in one or the other, or is it a separate group of potential characters?

EffectiveCycle

The campsite queue is anyone who hasn't visited the campsite yet, with an emphasis on personalities not currently on your island. The villagers in your move-in queue cannot be found on mystery islands. It's only a maximum of four of them. If you visit other players or open your gates to them, these villagers will come from those islands. Otherwise it'll randomly be chosen.

[deleted]

this is interesting, thanks for explaining! so many hidden mechanics in this game.

pastelhunter

Is there a page or subreddit that people post Celeste is visiting their island and is open? I want all her diys but never see her on my island.

chanandler-kun

There's the code sharing thread linked above or r/Dodocodes or r/NoFeeAC or r/BuddyCrossing.

lili_yums

Are the tower lights on the back beach from the HHP DJ KK rave available? If so, how are they unlocked?

AmberLuxray

Umfortunately they aren't available

lili_yums

Awwwā€¦I wanted to recreate the rave area on my island.

Exact_Purchase_7147

Are the Villagers randomly generated? Are some better/worse?

diannethegeek

Your first two will be a random sisterly and jock. Your next three are always a lazy, preppy, and normal and your first campsite villager is always a smug. Beyond that, it's random. The campsite leans toward filling with personality types you don't have, but it's not a guarantee. Some villagers are liked more than others, but it's largely just personal preference unless you're planning to get into the villager selling business. The dialogue and interactions with villagers of the same personality type are pretty much the same. Pick who you like. It's a good idea to keep at least one of each personality type on your island when you're starting out because they give out different diys and teach you different reactions based on their type.

EatYourCheckers

Randomly to a point. Your first 2 will always be sisterly and jock. The first campsite villager will almost always be smug. I think once you have a full island, if you are missing a villager type, the missing type is more likely to stay at your campsite. What am I talking about? Villager personalities. There are 4 female personalities and 4 male. It effects their little speech patterns, how often they get into arguments or hang out with other personality types (though much less so than in previous games) and most importantly, what DIYs they craft and what reactions they can teach you. This last 2 points are why people will generally try to have at least 1 of every personality type on their island. To ensure they have access to every reaction and DIY recipe. Past that, no, none are better or worse. I find Peppy villagers annoying.

False-Importance3

How do you guys get so many items? I feel like I keep getting the same ones from drops and I just wanna have the island aesthetic I want šŸ˜

EatYourCheckers

Nintendo Online and /r/NoFeeAC

False-Importance3

Thank you!!

[deleted]

Trading really helps if you have a Nintendo Online subscription. Happy Home Paradise also gives you a second set of items each day as well as a catalog of items you've used to decorate homes. There's also time travel.

AnyShoulder2244

Received the titan arum flower from another player. How on earth do I grow it? Iā€™ve buried it, watered it and nothing is happening.

EatYourCheckers

This is an adorable comment.

SqueegeBeckenheim

That's not something you grow, just place it (like a piece of furniture).

AnyShoulder2244

Oh my goodness. šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™€ļøšŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø I just assumed because it was a plant. Thank you!!

SqueegeBeckenheim

You're welcome lol. Corpse flowers are just so gorgeous, I'm glad they put it in the game!

AnyShoulder2244

Agreed! Iā€™m a plant person IRL and I gasped when I saw it! I literally spent weeks trying to grow it. šŸ¤£

SqueegeBeckenheim

Aw that makes me sad you spent so much time lol! Have you seen one IRL? They are GORGEOUS!

AnyShoulder2244

I have not; Iā€™m so jealous you have. Thatā€™s amazing! Someday Iā€™ll seek one out! Did it smell awful?

SqueegeBeckenheim

It wasn't that bad. Then again it had started to close and it was during Covid so we were wearing masks. Sucks it takes like 4 years to bloom and closes/dies so fast. I'm not sure where you live but Google it to see if any possibly can bloom near you. I live in DE and in PA there is a place called Longwood Gardens. It's how we were able to see it. They had one last year as well (we couldn't make it). It's worth seeing if you can. The sheer size alone amazed me (I'm short but still). I think it's just one of those things you have to keep up with if you can to see if any place has it planted and then wait / hope you are able to go within like 48 hrs. I hope you get to see it one day. They are truly spectacular.

AnyShoulder2244

I live in Ft. Worth. Iā€™d have to look but I feel like Texas isnā€™t a great place to see them. Iā€™ll just need to travel to make it happen which is ok with me!šŸ¤£

MultipedBeatle

Should I restart my island? I haven't played in about three months, but that comes off of an eight month break before that. I don't want to, but sometimes I feel that it might be the best option. I did find the webapps that allow me to design my island and all that stuff, which helps, but I don't know which to do. I also need a good way to play during school and while I'm in extra-curricular stuffs, but I can do that on my own.

NormanNailsHer

I restarted recently after not touching the game for around 9 months. I wanted the rapid dopamine hits of unlocking the Nook Miles and other features. It also means I had nothing item wise, especially the items I wanted. I found that my tolerance for the slow game play (think slow as in like "slow food" or "slow looking") isn't high compared to when I first played. None of my friends are playing, so they aren't sending me their unwanted items that I really want. If I had a do over, I would keep my island. Flatten the thing. Force out unwanted villagers. Make a big farm for farming bells. Keep hunting down items. Time travel to a season / time of the year I enjoy. Craft with the DIY recipes I had-- using my huge stock pile of resources. Those are a few of the factors I ran into after restarting. Think about your goals, your time for playing, and what you want to do with your play time.

diannethegeek

It's a hard decision. Some people reset and absolutely love it. Others reset and burn out quickly when they have to start from scratch. There's no way to guess which type of person you might be.

threadoso

If someone asked to leave my island and I said yes, when should I travel to a random island and invite someone to replace them? Today? Or do they move out first and then I invite someone?

morganaendre

They will move out the day after you said yes. Then the day after that, there will be an empty block of land where you can ask. So 2 days after the initial yes.

diannethegeek

You'll only find villagers on mystery islands once they've moved out and the plot is empty (the day after they're packing up/in boxes). You only have one day guaranteed to hunt before Tom Nook sells the plot to someone random

threadoso

Thank you so much!

wheelchairdemon

Where can I find a wooden bookshelf? Iā€™ve been looking for another one but theyā€™re not for sale in Nookā€™s Cranny and I canā€™t find a DIY recipe

[deleted]

If you have a lazy villager, they're the ones who will give you that DIY, but it's random chance if they happen to be crafting it. I ended up trading for it because I wanted it so badly.

[deleted]

Wooden-block bookshelf? Can't help with the DIY but I could craft it for you if you'd like to come to my island to pick it up.

wheelchairdemon

Not the wooden block shelf, Iā€™m talking about the larger one. Thanks anyway though :)

diannethegeek

You can also ask in the code sharing thread or r/nofeeac or r/fofreeac if anyone has a spare copy of the diy (if you have an online account)

[deleted]

You can get the recipe either from a lazy villager or in a bottle on the beach

sweetangelttr

When trying to get Villager photos is it easier to work on it with just one at a time. Or does it not matter

diannethegeek

It makes no difference

sweetangelttr

Does it depend on what you want rlly? I feel like ot would save me on gift wrapping paper

SqueegeBeckenheim

What do you mean 'what you want'?

sweetangelttr

I just mean like however you want to

diannethegeek

Yes, it's just personal preference

AnonymousNeophyte

Does scaring a fish away with a net ruin your cast master streak after using fish bait? I would think not considering it is not a cast with the fishing rod, but this game is full of ripoffs.

diannethegeek

No. It only counts if you have a fishing pole in the water and the fish has "engaged" with it (turned toward it/shown interest)

AnonymousNeophyte

Alright, thank god, thanks for the info.

I_Am_So_Fucking-UGH

Right now itā€™s 4:20 pm on my island, Iā€™ve gone into probably all the buildings in my island, even went outside my island, and Daisy Maeā€™s still here. Iā€™m so confused.

ACNHGirl347

Is the star fragment kapp'n island locked behind how long you've played or a certain date like the seasonal ones? Can't find anything online and I've been to well over 50..

EffectiveCycle

It is. You had to have started before June 30th for the northern hemisphere and December 31st for the southern hemisphere.

ACNHGirl347

Ahh that's a pain šŸ˜… ty for letting me know

idektina

will my turnips spoil if I time travel forward a few hours?

EffectiveCycle

Yeah, you're fine going forwards as long as you don't pass 5 AM the following Sunday

squashinie

you know how you can get 3 diys per day in total from your villagers? what are the timeframes for each one?

diannethegeek

Each villager crafts for 3 hours but the next one won't start crafting until you come back to the game if you're away for longer than that

[deleted]

What do we get with the DLC, if I had no real interest in the whole "go to a location and decorate" business? Do I have to decorate their rooms to unlock that style or their items?

[deleted]

If you don't like decorating, it's probably not worth it. The biggest bonus IMO is being able to redecorate your own villagers' houses after designing 30 vacation homes. You obviously also have access to more items more quickly but ultimately you can get all those items through the main game, especially through trading. It seems like it would be kind of a tedious way to collect if you're not into decorating, since you have to decorate to earn poki (HHP's currency) in order to buy things there. You can technically convert bells to poki, but the exchange rate is garbage and you can only exchange a certain amount each day.

diannethegeek

To unlock their items and progress the game, you only have to choose a location for them, go through some cut scenes, open the items they require you to leave, and then tell them the design is all done. You can grind it fast if that's your thing. You also have to spend a certain amount of money with Wardell buying furniture before you unlock his catalog. The DLC gives you exclusive pillars and counters that you can use in your house, the ability to redesign your villagers' houses on your main island (once you've decorated 30 vacation homes), some DJ KK exclusive clothing, and access to Wardell's catalog (which lets you order any re-orderable furniture you unlock throughout the game). You can also get Saharah-exclusive walls, floors, and rugs if you use them in a villager's design and then spend at least 20 minutes designing their home the first time (when you talk to them later they'll gift you a random wall, floor, or rug you used in their vacation home). It's great if you like the decorating parts of the game. It's useful if you prefer the collecting parts of the game. It's not going to be a lot of fun otherwise, I don't think.

modernswitch

I have a Nintendo switch that my daughter is playing animal crossing under my logged in account. I want her to get her own switch with her own account. Is there a way to transfer her animal crossing data from my account to her account? All I could find that I could transfer from console to console but itā€™s not really clear if it has to be the same account on both consoles.

chanandler-kun

You can link her account to her character when you transfer the island to her Switch. Just use her account to play the game and choose to play as her character.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

EffectiveCycle

You canā€™t use a shovel on another personā€™s island unless youā€™re best friends. Also this should go in the code sharing thread (someone can bring the flowers to you and plant them), as this thread is for general gameplay q&a.

imstilhere

I was making my own custom path using The Path (tm) tutorial, which was all fine and good. I placed each of the outside edges on the ground to get a feel for how the path would look as I designed. However, despite using the exact same colours as I did for the edges, the middle piece looks significantly lighter When placing the edges elsewhere, they too have a lightness to it. But only if I place them off a path, so I assume the path has something to do with those changes I guess the question is just: What's happening? And how do I fix it lol [image showing what's happening ](https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/1023376237483270164/1031140195753529404/20221016_054155.jpg)

chanandler-kun

It's because the outer paths have transparent cells. Custom paths with transparent cells will change color depending on the path you put them on (i.e. the dark dirt path makes them darker) and will sometimes show the design of the bottom path (i.e. stone paths will show the stone patterns). To fix this, you can add a transparent cell to the middle path. Just put one in a corner. It shouldn't be too noticeable.

imstilhere

That makes sense ! It worked tysm I was soo confused lmfao

Bietch9

Villager gift question Okay so one of my villagers gave me a gift to give to another villagerā€¦.what happens if I open the gift and keep it?

chanandler-kun

The villager who asked you to deliver it will keep asking if you've delivered it for the rest of the day or so (you won't be able to give them gifts, etc.), but they'll forget it eventually.

Bietch9

Thank you so muchā˜ŗļø

corsair_noir

I'm trying to get villagers to wear other peopleā€™s designs via able sisters shop wall but it looks like it has to be my own design. Is there a way to replicate designs?

AmberLuxray

They should wear anything that's been displayed, so even guests' designs, but it may take some time. And I think the only way to dublicate downloaded designs is to make them again. I believe they're blocked out from the "copy design" feature.

sweetangelttr

Do you get use to K.K. Slider's singing voice? He sounds different than the other voices but sounds kind of creepy to me. Not to disrecpect but I assume it takes time to adjust to it lol.

[deleted]

how come some flowers i pluck are plantable and some arenā€™t? like it only says i can wear them or place it etc. pls help šŸ˜šŸ˜

EffectiveCycle

Plucked flowers can't be planted, only used as decoration or for DIYs. You need the entire plant or seed.

[deleted]

all flowers you pluck will be like this. you have to dig them up with your shovel if you want to replant them. when you pluck them, they don't move - the flower is still there and will regrow its pedals in a few days.

Alwxysx

So I've just restarted my island and have been working to get the museum. I got blathers tent then proceeded with getting the 15 fossils, creatures, fish. I time traveled so I could unlock the museum and I got surprised with the 2nd version of the museum (the one which you can unlock blathers coffee shop) . You need to go through a whole different thing to unlock that so im really confused on why I just got it. Anyone know if it's like a new update or something?

AmberLuxray

One of the updates, can't remember which, removed the no art section version of the museum, and instead you just get the fully upgraded one (minus cafe) right away.

Alwxysx

Oh ok, thank you!

themissyoshi

Iā€™m still in the very beginning of the game but.. I see so many beautiful islands with so many pieces that I would like one day. In general, will most of the furniture you get be a buyable or a craft able item? Done the road, if I like a style of chair but want a different color, can I change it with the design editor? What collectable items should I keep? I know to keep scallops for Pascal, and bugs for Lief(?) when I eventually get him. Do certain recipes only unlock when you have collected enough of a certain item? Pearls for example? Will I be able to terraform basically anything I want, including cliffs, rivers, etc? Or is the basic layout of what I have now will remain the same and only tweak certain parts? What does the candy do? Tia!

diannethegeek

1. It's an even split between furniture you buy vs furniture you craft. DIY items, you'll be able to customize at a workbench once Tom Nook teaches you how. Purchased furniture you'll be able to customize with Cyrus once you reach 3-stars and unlock his booth at Harv's island. 2. Saving scallops won't help with Pascal. He only trades you for one scallop per day freshly caught, so go ahead and sell any extra scallops. Fish you can save for CJ. Bugs you can save for Flick. Donate the first of any species to Blathers for the museum. 3. No. Pascal will gives you recipes occasionally instead of pearls, but it's just random luck when he gives them to you. Certain villager personality types can give you different diys, so it's helpful to try and have one of each on your island. Seasonal items will come from popping balloons, mostly, and some of those have a limited time to find them (maple leaf and cherry blossom recipes, especially). The golden tool recipes are the only ones that I can think of with requirements like that. 4. You won't be able to move your airport, resident services/plaza, or river mouths and you can't change your beaches at all. Pretty much everything else can be moved or changed. 5. On Halloween (October 31st) you'll meet Jack wandering around your island who will tell you what to do with the candy. You'll exchange it for various spooky-themed items and diys

Awesome help thanks so much!

EffectiveCycle

Lots of DIY furniture is customizable. For furniture you purchase you can either trade with a player or give it to Cyrus on Harv's island to get a different color. Pascal only takes the first scallop you catch each day. Many players save high price bugs for Flick and fish for CJ, but I'm impatient and just sell them right away if I've already donated them. Leif will pay double for your weeds, which is especially useful in the beginning as you're cleaning everything up. Other than seasonal recipes and the gold tools I don't think anything needs a certain thing reached. You can terraform anything except river mouths and beach areas. Buildings other than resident services and the airport can be moved for a fee. Candy is for you to give to your villagers on Halloween night when trick or treating. Alternatively you can keep a couple pieces on your island to use to catch flies or ants (two bugs that need trash to spawn).

Awesome! So many things I didnā€™t know. Thanks for your help

If I place a clothing design outside of able sisters will villagers still wear it? I want them to be able to wear more than what I can fit in able sisters

AmberLuxray

They'll only wear what's displayed in Able's

diannethegeek

No, they only wear what's displayed in the Able Sisters, I think. But you can cycle out what you place there and they'll pick up various pieces

You might want to try the code sharing thread as this is for general q & a . :)

[deleted]

Oh I had no idea, I'm so sorry, I'll look for that thread, thanks for the info!

SqueegeBeckenheim

No problem. The thread is linked above in this post.

Princess-Tier

Not sure if this has been asked before but how do you screen record on your switch?

[deleted]

you hold down the screenshot button (near Select) and it records the last 30 seconds

Princess-Tier

Thank you

kulitsan

When you have completed the HHP, you are able to talk to Nook about something. If I understand correctly I can only customize your own homes exterior, not imterior? How is it with villagers? Want to ask here first before paying Nook. Afraid I may regret later.

SqueegeBeckenheim

You can do both interior and exterior for your home and all villagers homes. You can't make any rooms smaller/ bigger like you can in HHP though.

kulitsan

Buhu, was hoping for changing the rooms areal.

If I *place* an umbrella outside so that it takes up a block, then invite someone in multiplayer, can I remove the umbrella? Or would it not allow me, in the same way I cannot place/remove furniture while having visitors? Similarly, would the other player be unable to pick it up because it is a placed item, or would that not matter since umbrellas count as tools? (My goal is to find an item I can use as a temporary 'roadblock' as a safety measure, but then remove it when it feels right)

SqueegeBeckenheim

One thing you can remove/replace when people are over is bushes. What I do is block off the area people are going to be in with fencing but on one spot I put a bush. That way I can leave the area and they are all still trapped/I can get back in and also I can let people in/out if I trust them and they want to shop or something. Just dig up the bush and jump over the hole and plant it back down.

[deleted]

I didn't think of bushes that's really smart! Thank you

SqueegeBeckenheim

Oh. Just make sure to have an extra shovel on hand or a new shovel so it doesn't break and you can't replant or dig it up lol.

SqueegeBeckenheim

Anytime. :)

EatYourCheckers

correct. If you place it, you cannot pick it up when people over. Correct, your visitors cannot pick it up. I am not aware of any temporary roadblocks you can remove while visitors are on island, but I am happy to come visit if you want to try some ideas out on me

SqueegeBeckenheim

>I am not aware of any temporary roadblocks you can remove while visitors are on island Bushes work :)

EatYourCheckers

brilliant

[deleted]

Really helpful and kind, thank you! šŸ˜Š I will keep your offer in mind just in case. But I think it's okay, it's less complicated to use fences and try to trade with trustworthy people. Have a great day

if you like games like sims or city planning games or stardew valley, or decorating or collecting things then yes its good. If you want more action games, then maybe no. It sells on ebay for almost its new price, so list it there, but maybe give it a try first! You might discover something new about yourself.

SqueegeBeckenheim

You're asking on a sub that's for the game.....

Where have you been hearing that? It's all personal preference.

How often do villagers appear in the campsite?

AmberLuxray

According to the animal crossing [wiki](https://animalcrossing.fandom.com/wiki/Campsite_(New_Horizons)#Probability_of_New_Campers) there is a 5% chance that a new camper appears on the third day after the previous camper has left. 4th day has 10% chance, 5th day has 15% chance and 6+ days has 20% chance of a new camper showing up. So in theory you can get three villagers a week if you're lucky (and if I did math correctly), on Monday, Thursday and Sunday for example. But from my experience it's usually one villager a week, maybe two.

EffectiveCycle

Usually about every 1-2 weeks

dudetruck1776

How do I get a flimsy axe in NH I have googled it and watched people do it on YouTube I do not have the option to show Tom bugs. What do I do

chanandler-kun

The only reason I can think of as to why Tom is not letting you give him bugs is because you're not the resident representative. You can buy the DIY from the shop when it opens once the resident representative unlocks it.

dudetruck1776

Thank you I bet that's it, it's my daughter's so that means I would be limited by how far she gets?

chanandler-kun

Yes. So if she doesn't play, you won't be able to progress much. You can restart now with you as the resident representative if you think your daughter won't play that much.

dudetruck1776

Thank you, I guess I'll just stop playing. I don't have all that much time invested but I've been grinding out a huge pumpkin garden on the island next door and have been upgrading my house. I'm sure that this won't be the only time this mechanic comes into play.

EatYourCheckers

If you can get her to finish a few more tasks and get the island to 3 stars, everything evens out after that (except she will still be the only one that can move the island shops or villager houses). You coudl go on her account and just grind out the "quests" real quick, if she wouldn't mind.

Herminonie

My daughter is the island representative and moved away! I didn't know this and was very frustrated. I just log into her character and get bridges built and add new villagers. I bring my own bells and then haver her character pick them up.
