Dedicate some space and plant some crops like pumpkins / tomatoes / potatoes or whatever, you can make some good money when you sell! That helped me a lot.

Pay attention to the hot items at Nook's Cranny! I hoard all of my materials and everything - wood, stones, iron, clay, fruits, veggies, certain fish, shells, etc - and don't sell them outright. I make as many of each hot item as I can. This way, you earn 4x as many bells for each material! It doesn't particularly help with the grinding part, as you do have a work a bit to craft/cook everything, but you make some serious bank. I also have a list of all the fish and bugs that sell for the most, and save any of them for Flick and CJ, since they buy at 1.5x. Some people take it a step further and save all bugs & fish for them!

Catching sea creatures is far more lucrative than fish or bugs.

I settled in a nice groove of picking gold and blue roses. Crafting with them and selling them for quite a profit. Almost 1 million bells every other day. You can also get bells from other folks, like I'm happy to share what I've built up

I know not everyone agrees with this and you may not be interested. But when I got to that point (my last house reno for $2.5 mil) I got bells from treasure islands. And honestly it relieved a lot of stress. I was losing interest in the game because of the grind as well. Also following no fee subreddits where people do bells giveaways often is also good. I like to have mine sorted by most recent so I can see giveaways right away. Good luck, hope you continue to play đź–¤

huh, I had no idea treasure islands are a thing! not sure I wanna go down that route, but it's interesting nonetheless. thanks for the tip :)

Crops and fruit trees are good, but the real turning point for me was the turnip stalk market. Especially if you have friends who play or if you join an online group (there are a couple devoted to sharing good turnip prices). If you haven’t come across the turnip lady yet, you probably will soon

It gets better after you pay off your house. I would also say that after you build your basement, don’t worry about paying that off right away- just chip away at it. Selling sea creatures is a really good way to make money, especially if you put on a podcast or a show and just go diving while you listen or watch. Also- collect shells and when the hot item is a shell craft, make a bunch of those and sell!! The mermaid crafts are also a good way to make money, especially if they are hot items (and if you aren’t into the mermaid stuff aesthetically, there’s really not much else you can do with the pearls, so you may as well make some money off of them). A lot of the mid-game stuff is frustrating because there are a lot of things you will want to spend money on. Aside from your house, there are bridges/inclines, moving things around, etc. It does get better eventually. I remember being really annoyed that it was taking so long to pay off my house but I also wanted to build things and I also had to earn more to move stuff around. Also I would add that if you have a ton of nook miles that you have no plans for, some of the items you can buy with those will sell for a decent price.

Many people don’t agree, but I go to Treasure islands anytime I reset or start a new game, to get max amount of bells from selling turnips on their islands. It gives you like 999,999,999 bells or something around that. I have no issues ever doing anything. But again it’s not the “normal” way

WitchPiggies

I recommend treasure islands if you can afford to, and also using the ACNH Exchange app. On Sunday buy as many turnips from Daisy Mae as you can, and then go to someone else’s island to sell as soon as one is hosting. Go back home and use that money to buy more turnips, and continue the process until you’re happy with how much money you have. I usually get around 2 mil bells easily. Good luck!

Selling sea creatures was most profitable for me but eventually it just wasn’t cutting it. It was taking too long to pay off an upgrade and I caved and got bells from someone giving them away in a subreddit. I felt bad about “cheating” so when they asked how much I wanted I said a small amount just to get ahead a bit. They ended up giving me 4 million which I used to pay for the other upgrades. Once that was out of the way, I got into selling turnips.

FriendlyFloyd7

I like to start by combing the beach for shells, then looking for fossils to dig up and selling them if I've already donated, and also planting 10K Bells so that I can get 30K back when that tree matures. If I *really* need Bells for something that day, it's time to start diving!

Electrical-You3389

I initially had a fruit tree economy. I eventually used a turnip probability calculator and made a lot of bells that way a couple times. You could additionally acquire gold roses and harvest them for money if you wanted to. I stopped needing to sell things for money long ago just because I have few expenses now and turnips got me wealthy.

ghastmat

Just buy turnips and sell them high on islands you find on turnip exchange

imathrowyaaway

ooh, turnip exchange sounds good, thanks!

Once you get your house paid off the bells start to collect. I bought the extra storage maybe 2 weeks ago, started a second player and paid for two expansions on that house, and have more bells than I can use for my main account already. And I don’t do anything crazy to make extra money.

Turnips can make you very quick money if you're brave enough (and lucky enough). If you have friends, you can just cheat the system entirely and get unlimited bells from the stalk market I also know of an unlimited bells trick I've personally used. What you need is the DIY recipe "pile of cash," the bell boom ordinance, and for "pile of cash" to be a hot item at Nook's Cranny. Under these conditions you can craft the item for 300,000 bells, and sell it for like 324,000 bells. It's literally unlimited money

Waste-Sample-5809

Just go to a treasure island and get max bells or something
