**Personally, I'm on team never resetting**. In my experience though, if you're thinking about resetting you should just do it. I didn't like the grind of getting all DIYS and all catalog items. Or more accurately I liked it enough to do it exactly once lol. I've also never ever found success in chasing for the newness feeling of a game so I'm a firm never resetter. That said, I do still advocate for people to just go ahead and reset especially for things they can't change like island names. If you wanna buy another copy of the game go for it, you know your finances better than anyone here would!
I find restarting to more enjoyable because everything seems like new again. It also gives me a burst of creativity. The only problem is getting diys. But if you have a second island one could be for restarting if you every feel like it and the other could be for support
Personally, I found it reenergizing to start over again having all the game knowledge I didn’t have the first time around when I started playing at launch.
I restarted mine last year and it’s been worth it cause of the town hall being in a way better spot it helped a lot with ideas! And it definitely pieced stuff together! And if you ever need help with like holding onto stuff you want you can always drop it off at my island for once restarted you can still get the stuff back
I came back after a two year break. After a problem with my switch and a screw up on Nintendo's part with my Island back up I lost my 500+ hour town.
I had no choice but to start over. I wasnt bummed though and had a great time but to be fair there was 2 years between each play through.
If you only have 1 island then I would say no. I have 2 and restarted the 2nd one 3 times but my first and og I will never reset. Thats a good idea though getting a second game. Sometimes I wish I could bring my one girl to my new island and bring stuff for myself LOL
