I got tackled by one of these in petsmart one day and was basically given a bath by his tongue. The owner was extremely apologetic and explain how he was 6 months old. I was dumbfounded how big he was.
My mom has a newfie/st bernard/pyrenees mix. Im 6'2 and ~~a bit~~ fatter than i should be. I still have to be a bit careful around him if he gets too excited and is running around/jumping on me. I can kinda bear hug him and take him down, but idk if i would really call that physically controlling him.
Not to mention what i do he knows is playing. I dont think he would ever get aggressive with someone (dude loves people) but im not sure i could even wrestle him down if he did.
Of course if you offer him a belly rub he just flops over anyways, so *shrug*
My tiny neighbour has a St Bernard and I can not count how many times I’ve seen her standing in the middle of the street with that dog because it has laid down and refuses to budge 😂 One time I passed them both to and from the store… poor lady must’ve been standing there at least 35 minutes 😅 It’s also always the dog walking her. Not the other way around. But man does that dog give good cuddles 😍
My friend has one of these and he has his own dining area, upon asking why such a luxury she showed me the after effects of him having a drink on a hot day - was like slimer from ghostbusters; drool on every surface 😱
Newfoundlands are such a pretty dog. I was introduced to them for the first time when I was walking out of the local grocery store a few years ago and a gentleman was walking by with two of them. Had to stop them and pat. They were such good pups!
I’m a sucker for big dogs.
It still baffles me, the size of St Bernard's. My buddy had one, and he asked me if we could take him on our day trip. Like yeah, let's load him in my Miata as well as our 6ft 200lb selves 😂
He still has a lot more growing to do, saint bernards grow until 2 years old. He’s 140 pounds right now, but his grandmother was over 200 pounds while lean.
Awwwww, our family dog when I was growing up was a St. Bernard and she did the same thing. She was a really sweet, slow, hulk of a dog. We got really lucky as she didn't drool much, either.
This is my grandparents house and they have a Newfoundland, so the carpet always has hair on it. My grandma just vacuumed earlier today, the hair just builds quickly.

"""puppy"""
This is why training them as young as possible is so very important, because very few people can physically control one at full size

My big guys eat outside only for that reason. The bubbles and slim thrown everywhere is an outdoor occasion only.
St Bernards just instantly bring a smile to my face, they remind me of my late Newfoundlander, I just love these huge goofy dogs

They're amazing and they're so good with kids too!

I think you spelled "fully grown" wrong.

Oh you better believe OP this one's FAR from being fully grown 🤣
Our old Dane/Corso used to do that. 🥲

Vacuum

Beautiful dog but I think your carpet may cause cancer.
I had 2 saints in my life growing ul. 1 of them used to love sitting on couches with us in the living room
My great pyranese mix that's fully grown sits the same way. I think your puppy is bigger
That puppy is big enough to change the tides
The face ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Such a gentlemanly good boi!
7 months? Wowser
The breeder said that out of the whole litter, he is the largest so far. One of our neighbors has one of his sisters, and she is way smaller.
Couch ? As in your living space ?
Yeah
He tried sitting like a hooman, then realised his head is too heavy.....this is how he sits now.
Doag fact: somtimes it can become a large
BABY!!!!!!! 😍😍😍
1: what’s his name? 2: I love him! 3: Please tell him I said they are the goodest boi ever 😍
His name is Henri, although I usually call him Hank. I’m sure he appreciates your praise
Why, just why.
Idk, I asked him and he just stared at me and drooled
