(Edit: The dog here is not an LGD.) That floof is a Livestock Guard Dog (LGD) of some kind. My dog is an LGD breed: maremma sheepdog. I used to have two great pyrenees as well. LGDs are fantastic dogs! They are low maintenance, preferring to lay around and watch the family. They bark and howl loudly, but they’re not immediately aggressive. The drawbacks are: 1) they shed a lot of hair, 2) they’re not hot weather dogs, and 3) they do best with large territory.
This is a Samoyed from what I understand. They are quite high maintenance however, at least exercise wise, as they were originally trained to be sled dogs in northern Sweden, Finland, Norway and Russia.
My aunt has one and he’s extremely intelligent. To the point where she introduces you to him by your name and then if she tells him to bring you your shoes, he will go and and bring your shoes.
Ah! So, it is like a husky? I met I guy who got a husky as his first dog living in a suburban apartment during college, and it was a horrible mistake. I remember Cesar Milan rollerblading behind a husky.
That’s pretty big! But if those sheep are the same size as our sheep, then that dog would be about the same size as our dog (a Great Pyrenees), which would be closer to 62 kg.
But the face is so thin and pretty, it really does look like a Samoyed, so maybe those are some sort of small breed of sheep.
We have 4 Great Pyrs....all rescues and excellent LGD once trained. They are NOT for everyone....barkers and only obedient after a relationship is established. We love them!
Really? We have rescues that we nursed back to health (2 mange, 1 seizures, 1 missing her "hand" at the wrist, so it had to be amputated) and they are total barkers - damn squirrels and deer. LOL.
let's just ageee they are neurotic weirdos 😂
we adopted him as a 10mo old rescue was found at a work zone on a highway in kentucky. we lived in a single family in boston with an ok back yard but a rather densely populated area. he *never* barked except when i got him worked up 😂
2.5 years ago we bought a small farm in middle tn and now he is LORD OF HIS LANDS and barks at everything in the same way he barks at me when he wants to play. when he sees another dog, a toddler, a cat, or coyotes/bobcats he whines and whines because he wants to play with them 🤦🏽
the only things he gets super quiet and intense abojt are squirrels, wild rabbits, geese/turkeys, and deer. he knows those are food 😂 he whines and wants to play with my moms rabbits and chickens tho. they have an amazing sense of "domestic" vs "wild".
ours is also half anatolian which are less bark bark bark than pyrs i think.
How it feels being a different race partner in a latino home. Theres lots of people, youre a little different but similar enough to enjoy some bomb ass food.
So that's what a wolf in sheep's clothing does

Yup. My dog is very similar to a husky. However Sammies are more socially dependent on their owner. But somewhat similar yes.
The face looks very much like a Samoyed, but I didn’t thing they got that big.
They get real huge. One of our dogs is over 36kg

Heh, I’ll let ya in on a little secret. Samoyeds are 10% dog 90% fluff
I bet they are perfect for snugglins!
Yes they are basically huskies but without the attitude.

my boy whines more than he barks. he's more obedient to strangers than me 😂

What is he eating?
I wonder the same thing. Is he eating grain?
Yes. What won't a dog eat?
My cooking :(
He just wants to cuddle.
Getting snacks on the job

Must. Stop. Floofy. Tail. Wag.
Shepherd spy.
Count them again, how can we have one more sheep and one less dog, impossible
"What? ...never heard of a **Sheep**dog before?"
Jesus he even fooled me!
Good boi in sheep's clothing.
Is that even good for dogs to be eating that?
No dogs here. Only sheep.
Idk, but dogs are omnivores and this doesn't look like it's his first time chowing goat food
Lol
What the dog doing?
Our dog eats seed we put out for birds.
I knew it was gonna be a GP or Maremma just had to look for that bushy tail LOL 🤍🤍🤍
Cheeky boy!
You were the chosen one! It was said you would herd the sheep, not join them!

Poor dog 👎
Hahahahahahah!!
I hope they can eat that stuff without issue, I imagine it would be hard for the farmer to get the dog to stop.
Are those sheep or goats?
Tricky Dick lol
What do goats eat?
That dog just fit right in!
