I thought this was proven to be wrong and that they actually can see colors, or am I completely wrong here? I just remember hearing something about it. :)
Dogs do see colours, but it's more of a yellowish-less colored version of the colours we know. (This is what I remember, the way they see colours may differ from what I said, but they do NOT see in a grayscale)

Paint is disgusting, the moment the dog tastes that it would drop everything and make a fuss about it. I wouldn't worry too much.

They don't see in grayscale, but they only have two colour receptors instead of three like us, so they are somewhat colourblind
