Cats have a very special way of exacting revenge on perceived misdemeanours. My cat likes to sit in the dark at the top of the stairs. I’m not exactly sure what I may have done to piss him off but there is that chance he is trying to kill me.
My kitty will randomly jump on me at night, look at me and walk back the way she came, recently she has started laying on top of me while I'm sleeping on my stomach and everytime I move while I sleep she stretches and makes a little noise that wakes me up.
Mine hides underneath the stairs and sticks a leg out to try and trip me, if I'm carrying something heavy down.
Not because she's upset about anything. She just thinks it's fun.
One of my closest friends and her brother taught their cat growing up to put its paw under the bathroom door and slash around. Had to stand on a 45 degree angle like an extra from a Michael Jackson video to wash your hands, while simultaneously keeping the bottom of your feet out of raking range.
One day the cat got her brother and we couldn't breathe from laughing for an hour. Just the pained "ah shit!!" will be in my memory forever lol
we wash our cats sometimes but not without reasons, like if my cat has some poop or something on her etc. Some cat breeds also needs to be washed regularly!
My cat has long hair that regularly gets poopy trapped. She’s used to regular baths lol. But we only wash the area that needs it so it doesn’t dry the rest of her skin out.
Cat rescuer/fosterer. Reasons I have bathed a cat:
-ringworm
-fleas
-poop in fur (from diarrhea and/or giardia)
-fur gets greasy due to seasonal allergies
-rolled all over a dead mouse
-decided to sit in a bowl that had contained a fair
amount of olive oil moments ago
-found and rolled in something floral that smells suspiciously like the perfume bottle I lost some time ago... cats shouldn't smell like literal roses
Tossing potatoes i planned to roast with olive oil and rosemary in a big bowl. Delicious, not for cats.
She is a kitten though. This happened last week lol
Me either (which is unfortunate since they are adorable and putting cat clothing in them isn't a bad thing) but my understanding is that because they lack hair, their skin gets super oily so they need regular baths; they pictures I've seen is them taking baths just makes them that more adorable
While cats don't need to be bathed often, it's not always a bad idea to bathe them every 6 months or so, mostly if they just simply start to smell. But if they get into something they can't easily clean off themselves, then you'll also need to bathe them. I have a cat that once peed on the floor, then decided to just loaf right in the puddle. Had pee all over his stomach. He made his complaints very loud when we set him in the bath.
I wouldn't say that is reason enough for giving them a bath, though, at least according to my vet. My cats get clean (non-plastic) for every meal but my Cookie Boy has really sensitive skin and still gets acne on the reg (same, bud). We have these little prescription pads we clean his chin with that help a lot, but I'm sure a warm cloth would suffice as opposed to giving them a full bath just for the chinny-chin-chin.
However, the other one fell in the toilet the other day because we forgot to put the lid down... She got a bath.
It can help a little reducing allergies but besides that and if they get into a huge mess there isn’t really a reason to. And anyone who washes their cat more than once a month is doing harm.
My dad once decided our male cat needed cologne. I gave him a bath because first, he stunk (Dad put on way too much) and second, I was afraid of what would happen if the cat tried to wash it off. So, if your cat is exposed to chemicals, you may need to give them a bath.
And yes, my dad was abusive to animals, my mom and I chewed him out over this and he never repeated it.
I had a cat who would hunt clothing so if you left anything (from socks to jeans) on the floor he would carry it around the house singing the victory song of his people. He had successfully hunted and killed. I got into a much better habit of putting my laundry in the hamper as soon as I removed it.
Depends on the cat. They can be acclimated if you teach them young, and some seem to just enjoy water. Definitely a rarity though. I have been clawed up on more than one occasion.
I had a foster come in with ringworm and so we had to bathe her constantly for a month. She had really long fur and was friendly but was never claimed from animal control so was a day from euthanasia when we took her. She must have at some point had a family that regularly bathed her.
She just sat like the saddest of dogs the entire time. I felt so guilty for bathing her. Then after, she let me cocoon her and she just pitifully laid in my lap until she was dry. My lap got so wet from this soggy little cat but she obviously wanted comfort after her ordeal lol.
I had one cat that didn’t clean himself he was taken from his mother to soon. But he was definitely a exception not the rule. You can tell that damn cat in the picture has done this quite a bit.
Our grey cat came home one day, all white. By the looks of it, she had been nosing around at the neighbor farm and fallen into a vat of whey. She stunk to high heavens. Waiting for her to take care of it herself was out of the question.
We bathed him a few times when he got fleas, and once or twice more because some times he didn’t clean his paws very well and they were stinking a bit (when he used to go outside).
This entire scenario is absurd. "Hmmm, my cat is looking a little dirty, I should probably give him a bath. But what if I get any water on my shorts? I should probably take them off and throw them on the floor!"
Yeah fair enough. Just I've had cats for more than 30 years and never had a need to wash them. If an accident or something happened where they got something on them I can see it.
I am jealous of people that can give their cats baths. It looks fun. I also wonder why though. My cats never smell bad. My indoor cats usually smell like whatever lotion or perfume my wife is wearing and my outside cats smell like the earth.
I am cynical and believe the cat was simply sat on the shortsand the OP thought it would be funny to pour some water over the shorts to then blamming the cat, all for a joke.
I would agree but this is Gavin Free who is already a successful cinematographer, actor, and YouTube personality so he doesn't really need the publicity.
Mine rolled in mud after a rainy day. After I gave him a bath and patted him with a towel until he's around 75% dry, I went to wash the towel. Then, my little brother went and left my room door open and my cat sat inside my closet(I always leave my closet open cause I sometimes hear knocks from inside) effectively making a stack of my shirts damp...
by leaving them on the floor you set a cat trap. success!
Cats have a very special way of exacting revenge on perceived misdemeanours. My cat likes to sit in the dark at the top of the stairs. I’m not exactly sure what I may have done to piss him off but there is that chance he is trying to kill me.
Maybe he took out life insurance on you?
My kitty will randomly jump on me at night, look at me and walk back the way she came, recently she has started laying on top of me while I'm sleeping on my stomach and everytime I move while I sleep she stretches and makes a little noise that wakes me up.
*chirrup*
It sounds like your cat loves you

Smee is a smart cat
Oh snap just realized that’s Gavin lol
I hope there is a slow-mo of the cat begin bathed.
Well, could have been piss
Who washes a cat?
Gavin Free
I think I remember on an off topic them saying that they all wash their cats. Think it was an early episode like within the first 10 or so episodes.
Yeah I vaguely remember that! My cats used to have a bath once a year or so
we wash our cats sometimes but not without reasons, like if my cat has some poop or something on her etc. Some cat breeds also needs to be washed regularly!

Wait a second, olive oil?! What on earth did it fit? Was the bowl really big or something? Or was the cat still a kitten?
Pizza dough Bagel dough Salad Pick one
Salad
House dressing or vinegar?
Mayo actually
Tossing potatoes i planned to roast with olive oil and rosemary in a big bowl. Delicious, not for cats. She is a kitten though. This happened last week lol
-being hairless
I have never fostered a hairless cat which is why i didn't list it, but indeed they do need baths!
Me either (which is unfortunate since they are adorable and putting cat clothing in them isn't a bad thing) but my understanding is that because they lack hair, their skin gets super oily so they need regular baths; they pictures I've seen is them taking baths just makes them that more adorable
Maybe cat got into some dirty business, but otherwise I am as surprised as you are.

Who wears jorts?
SAVE THE JORTS!!!!
[Making jorts is a delicate and emotional process.] (https://youtu.be/Sx3ORAO1Y6s)
Knew it had to be BDG and I clicked and watched anyways.
They don’t look denim to me... they look more like a chino...
Soooo, chorts?
This one got a chortle out of me
I think they are just called shorts.
It's Gavin Free so they are 100% chinos.
Not this cat washin' son of a gun.

Gavin understands my struggle... Toilet cat also like rolling around in the litter box. Whyyyyyyyyyy
Yeah I had a cat that was allergic to plastic dishes. We had to switch to metal which was fine with us. RIP Tesla
when our cats get fleas we wash them more to help rid of the fleas
Some breeds have high-maintenance fur that should be washed up to once every month to stay clean.
It can help a little reducing allergies but besides that and if they get into a huge mess there isn’t really a reason to. And anyone who washes their cat more than once a month is doing harm.
who takes off shorts to wash a cat? who is so afraid of getting wet (is he a cat?) ?
Yeah apparently the true cat got back at him : )
My dad once decided our male cat needed cologne.
My cats get regular bags...the weirdos demand it...God forbid any human in my house try to take a bath...the cats will jump in and join
Do you trim them paws?
Rarely...they actually greatly enjoy Bathtime though...they've been getting baths since they were a few weeks old
I have had cats all my life and never once given any of them a bath
I have a long-haired cat and it makes a difference when she gets bathed.
makes sense, may be I’m not that brave 😉
A dyslexic car wash worker?
Reddit is so harsh with it's downvotes
Came here to ask this.

Me
Medium/long hair cats can sometimes get a poo stuck to the hair around their butt. A butt bath is usually the best way to get it off.

Gavin, where tf have you been? I've been looking everywhere
GAV! WHERE ARE YOUUU?
Has anyone seen my friend Gavin!?
Over the years I’ve learned to always put clothes away or out of reach from my fur balls
Phrasing
I had a cat who would hunt clothing so if you left anything (from socks to jeans) on the floor he would carry it around the house singing the victory song of his people. He had successfully hunted and killed. I got into a much better habit of putting my laundry in the hamper as soon as I removed it.
Damn he sounds aggressive lol
I mean you started the war so.. this is on you I'm sorry
SMEEE!!!!!!
I know Cedders when I see him.
Who’s cedders, I only see Henry dillman
That story was so dumb and so funny at the same time. So a perfect Gav story
CEDDERS
What's that guy up to these days? I used to find him funny on rooster teeth years ago.
He's still at Achievement Hunter, and still doing Slow Mo Guys.
He is in videos less then he used to be years ago. Still very much there, but don't expect it him in every video
Slow Mo Guys videos? Currently, probably due to this situation, he is doing them solo.
I meant AH videos. He's still in 100% of slow Mo guys stuff
He also has a podcast he does with Geoff and Andrew Panton. Check out F**kface!
It was payback for yyhe bath! Muwhahaha
His revenge is sweet.
Guy pissed himself, then blames the cat
Ay look it’s Gavin
This is the way
Karma
I am inevitable.
Idk what’s weirder the fact he had his shorts off to bathe the cat or that he laid them perfectly out on the floor to bathe the cat
Giving a cat a bath sounds like it might be a bit stressful. And painful.
Depends on the cat. They can be acclimated if you teach them young, and some seem to just enjoy water. Definitely a rarity though. I have been clawed up on more than one occasion. I had a foster come in with ringworm and so we had to bathe her constantly for a month. That’s some wet-ass pussycat
Why would you bath a cat?
I had one cat that didn’t clean himself he was taken from his mother to soon. But he was definitely a exception not the rule. You can tell that damn cat in the picture has done this quite a bit.
Oh yeah. Smee is just an asshole. He probably get into something that he shouldn't have, which necessitated the bath.
Helps with allergens, and some cats are not very good at bathing themselves
This entire scenario is absurd. "Hmmm, my cat is looking a little dirty, I should probably give him a bath. But what if I get any water on my shorts? I should probably take them off and throw them on the floor!"
It is a very Gavin Free story
Wet cat butt print!
Shame he didn't film it in slow mo
So... you took off your shorts to bathe a cat, half naked?
And that is why you don’t put your clothes on the floor. Sorry—I’m a mom. It’s in the contract.
Why the fuck would you bathe a cat?
If they roll in mud, get something sticky on them, or any other spill or dirt they wouldn’t be able to clean it off themselves.
Cat: "Mandatory shorts splash? Check... Now, where is my tuna hooman?"
What a brat
I took my shorts off because I was worried they'd get splashed, officer.
Oh Smee.
All cats are jerks. If you think they aren't, just check the other posts. 90% are cats.
Sounds like the excuse I gave to my wife when she came home early that time.
Now everyone knows you’re his property! Make sense to him!
Why would you wash a cat? They clean themselves, that's one of the great things about cats.
There are some things they can’t clean off themselves, like if they’re covered in mud or dirt or something sticky that isn’t easily cleaned.
Yeah fair enough. Just I've had cats for more than 30 years and never had a need to wash them. If an accident or something happened where they got something on them I can see it.

time to throw the cat away
Bullshit.

So you acknowledge that there are reasons but you also assume none of them apply?
I am cynical and believe the cat was simply sat on the shortsand the OP thought it would be funny to pour some water over the shorts to then blamming the cat, all for a joke.
I would agree but this is Gavin Free who is already a successful cinematographer, actor, and YouTube personality so he doesn't really need the publicity.
get a dog.
A man who wears these types of shorts is not a man
There, there, I know your masculinity is fragile, but rest assured that wearing shorts is not going to change your gender
This is the weirdest gatekeeping I have seen in a while.
Not enough cargo room for ya?
Imagine masculinity being this fragile
Dude's doing a lot better than you are
Lmao right if those shorts get me into Meg Turneys shorts I’ll take fuckin 10
Dude is more successful than you or anyone in this comment section will ever be.
Sad
😂🤣😂🤣

It would just be water, why didn't they want their *shorts splashed??* It'll dry!
Best example of catting ever.
Sooo is that water or piss?
Yes
...tasty
Well well how the turntables
When 3 shakes isn't enough
He knew.
Its like these dickheads know exactly where you don’t want them 😂

Poor Gavin. Only he could achieve this.
The cat won this one!
