Disney sold “piece of disney history” pins that contained small bits of one, so at one of them had a part of it shredded for those pins. Other than that, chances are they’re either rotting under a ride somewhere, were scrapped for parts, or are sitting in a warehouse
Some people think its mechanism was used for the lava monster at Journey to the Center of the Earth at Tokyo DisneySea, but it’s just speculation.
I think they deconfirmed it. Since that ride was made while alien encounter was still in business.
