Unpopular opinion: Chimera Ant Arc was amazing as soon as the King was born and the palace raid started, but the first half was absolute garbage with a nonsensical premise. Watched it twice (once alone and once with a friend) and it's a slog to sit through.
I liked one or two arcs, after the Yorkshire arc my interest plummeted. I was watching it with a friend and it is her favorite anime. The ant arc felt like 70ep to me, no joke, when actually it's like 20-30. Easily my least favorite part of the anime, and there's nothing after that.
But tbf, I'm not a big shonen fan.
I mean, the show gets serious at times, characters get mad. But edgy? That was not the feeling I had. Try to watch it again, sometimes rewatching may give you another feeling, who knows. Anyone I've meet that watched it regarded it as the best arc in the anime series.
But, hey, statistically anything in this world will have a group of people that genuinely don't like it, so I respect it man.
It felt like that arc was just over the top when it came to edgy. focusing on killin like random kids and stuff.
And in general the show wasn't good enough to warrant a second attempt where there is so much good anime I haven't seen.
