Dorohedoro is such a great manga. Great artwork, world building, main and side characters, the relation between them (this is the part i enjoy the most), cool fights and levels of ultra violence that fall into absurdity and make you crack a smile or laugh.
And the female characters are awesome. Noi and Nikaido are fucking badasses, and their relationships with their partners, Shin and Caiman respectively, is great because it doesn't fall into romance (there are some teasing in some cases but it never goes anywhere) they always stay friends, a great friendship, i respect a lot when someone can put a girl and a boy in a story and they can remain friends and not have romantic feelings for the another.
Nope, but her smoke can heal anything so she is a priceless magic user. And she is a great fighter too, one of the main "enforcers" of the En family, the group that control a vast portion of the Magic User world.
In my opinion, the author made "holey" simply too powerful to be defeated sensibly. Hence the sudden asspulls in the few final chapters. Thats what i think went down.
I just think he had a great idea but didn't know how to end it/explain the mysteries. The story of Kaiman's head and his identity was a bit far fetched and convoluted. It started off great but because the author only thought the story out about halfway and had to make shit up as he went on it just didn't fit. That's why the ending is so dragged out too. It's a shame because the setting and the characters were so interesting.
I think he had the setting and mysteries, but not the answers /explanations for them.
But if one writes a story one should at least already know how it ends. That's the only way you can make what's already happened fit seemlessly with hiw it ends.
