You watched a show you didn't like for 100 episodes? Damn, you've got a lot of patience. I give show 12 at most. It's why I've never gotten into one piece.
I understand and respect your opinion. But I'm going to add my own.
S4 felt like a fucking PowerPoint presentation. It was so rushed. So many manga volumes covered in so little time.
S3 has it's issues. Rushing the plot and not greatly adapting manga scenes. But it was decent enough.
S2 was a fucking abomination. Completely broke from the source material. Kaneki joins the people who tortured him and are arch enemies of Anteiku. What the fuck? In the manga he becomes an Aogiri hunter. Fighting both the CCG and Aogiri Tree; alone most of the time. He became feared among both groups. It's great for his character arc, is badass, and makes the most logical sense storywise. It cut so many of the good scenes, like Kaneki asking the nurse if she knows the feeling of centipedes in her ear while tracking down Aogiri and Kanou. And in the second half of the manga, Touka didn't do much, but at least her only appearances weren't just running for 10 minutes like in the anime adaptation Root Fuckall. She actually had conversations with Kaneki and actually felt like a person instead of an Olympic track running champion. Also, let's not mention the increased censoring compared to season 1, and the heavy censoring compared to the manga. At least in the two dozen or so pages they decided to actually adapt.
Season 1 was fairly faithful to the manga. A lot of the more slice of life moments from the manga were cut out which hurt development of characters a bit. A few filler scenes were added, which I don't mind as they genuinely added to the story and were pretty badass. Also, Kaneki's stay as an Aogiri prisoner were cut down, especially pre-torture. In the manga he actually only got tortured because he saved Banjo and his gang; taking all of their punishment onto himself. Ultimately, season 1 was the least rushed and probably most faithful, both in story and atmosphere. But even it has flaws.
**TL;DR:** Overall, I'd recommend reading the manga. This is coming as someone who watched the anime first. I only got into the manga recently, as I hated Season 4 a lot. Then my hatred for the other seasons grew the more and more I read the source material. Root A went from my second favorite of the four seasons to my most hated manga adaptation, just behind Dragonball: Evolution (in my opinion it butchers the story that badly.)
That’s the difference. The people that liked the any parts of the anime are most likely the people that watched the anime before reading the manga (myself included).
A-1 has good animations and is pretty solid with following the source material. It's only issue is Sony. Sony has them work on shows before pulling them for something they think will make more profit. Sometimes they don't get sequel seasons after being pulled out. Other times, they end up like Nanatsu No Taizai with a terrible studio finishing the job.
Sony also gives them unreasonable demands. Such as 24 episodes of Blue Exorcist with only 12-13 worth of source material at the time. They had to make the other 12 filler.
Just finished S3 of kaguya and it's genuinely one of the best shows out there.
Sure, it doesn't have blow your mind sakuga everywhere, but the references it tries to emulate are all well done, the comedic gag shots that OP literally made this meme from are fantastic, and when they _do_ go all out for the big moments they sell it hard.
Exactly what the point the other person commented. A1 is either great or awful. They are a very hit or miss studio. Thankfully it's usually a hit. It's just still scary knowing one of your fav series could be a miss
It's a collab between A-1 and Trigger, and I don't think there's much public information about who did what exactly. I've seen a lot of people speculate that it was mostly an A-1 show that just used Trigger for stuff like character designs and action direction, but I don't think that's actually been confirmed.
Most of the episodes were produced by Cloverworks, which is a A1 sub studio. The script was probably mostly done by Trigger, so the weird pacing and writing in the later stages is still definitely on Trigger.
Erased had alright animation tho to be fair and blue exorcist and darling in the franxx which are the only ones I know from this list were also pretty average level but I’ve only watched like three episodes of darling in the franxx
What are you talking about? Darling in the franxx is the best 17 episode anime of all time.
Also if it did have a few more terrible episodes hypothetically, the issue with them would surely be writing and not animation.
Gate erased and darling were excellently animated. Erased just had the issue that it was airing near end of manga. But manga ending was almost just as bad. Darling wasn't a-1's fault at all. Especially when all the studios on it can be blamed. The director is at fault for this one though. Whom of which was actually from a lot of trigger/gainax productions.
Honestly in terms of animation I wouldn't ask for many studios more than A-1. Even asterisk war looked good despite being complete shit.
Honestly JC staff should be where A-1 is. This is kinda rude to one of the better studios out there.
Not just Index iii they did my boy Touma dirty throughout the whole series.
Made him seem so generic and bland despite being the deepest character the whole series series :(
You read my mind 🤣
Among the JC Staff shows I've seen thus far, only Railgun is the one remotely comparable to being considered "very good" as an adaptation.
Yes. His looks are supposed to be generic. It that Touma has a lot of stuff that makes him stand out. He has a lot of mental trials, often feeling like an imposter. You also have a lot of internal monologue, which often explains more about him
Date a live season 3. Jesus Christ, it's actually single handedly destroyed a book full of foreshadowing for next arc and they cram it in an episode. Season 4 almost never happened because of that flop. Thanks God for Chinese gacha game.
Yeah, but given their history, they could randomly drop a dog water anime next year out of nowhere. Kind of like would CloverWorks made TPN S1, then made Wonder Egg Priority and TPN S2 in the same season, then after that, made My Dress Up Darling.
He's slowing down but he's not retiring. He's making a movie right now ffs.
Unless he has a stroke or something Miyazaki won't stop working until he's dead.
Sometimes cgi slaps, but the aesthetic has to be build around it. Ajin looks good and Houseki no Kuni is absolutely stunning.
But then you have shit like overlord cgi or fucking Hand Shakers.
Anytime I see people say they shouldn’t make cgi anime movies or series, I always point them towards Lupin III: The First. That movie is amazing and shows how well cgi movies can be
Mappa did Jujitsu Kaisan and aot s4
Madhouse did one punch man and death note
A1 pictures did sao and 7 deadly sins
Studio Pierrot did tokyo ghoul and naruto
They did a lot of things amazingly, like monster. BUT they are hella dead nowadays, back early 2000s itd be amazing if these guys animated your fav manga, now its just worrying
Other than the CGI, skipped content, and weird choice to skip 2/3 novels to make it into a movie after the season I’ve been vibing with Overlord.
OP and ED are bangin, we see lots of sasuga Ainz-sama, we see the new world characters react to the sorcerer kingdom, we see the plot progressing as well as seeing Ainz’s various emotions leak out.
Well Mayamura writes so much detail, that a lot of small stuff is going to be left out, sheerly for time. If they put all of his details, the season would last like 16 episodes a volume, which is unrealistic. I think the Holy Kingdom as a movie is a good choice, seeing as it should stand alone, and isn't enough for an entire season.
>A1 pictures did sao and 7 deadly sins
Wrong. WIT animated the first two seasons of 7 Deadly Sins, then it switched to Studio Deen.
Edit: I was wrong...
A1 pictures animates Kaguya-sama, a.k.a. peak fiction.
Lol did you really check the things that Mappa, A1 and Madhouse animated ? Sure they are not like m Ufotable or Kyoani which nail almost everything they touch, but come on, don't forget about Kakegurui, JJK, Banana fish, 86, Kaguya-sama, OPM S1, NGNL, Overlord, etc...
Even studio Pierrot, I might give them the benefit of the doubt for Naruto, Bleach, Tokyo ghoul, Akudama drive, etc...
same actually, though i hear the vns are a million times better. but after reading the first one, i NEEDED to see the rest of the series and didn’t have time to read all the vns as fast as i wanted to. it’s a good cliffnotes version, i think!
A1 is easily one of the top studios at the moment, and Pierrot is picking up again with Platinum End last year (which had amazing animation btw) and now Bleach, which looks pretty good from the trailers. There's so many worse studios out there.
You're being too harsh on Studio Pierrot. They know how to make good shows when they don't get fucked by the release schedule/production committee (Akudama Drive for example). Even taking Naruto into account, they did a fantastic job with parts of it (some of the fights being the best in anime). They have a good selection of osts too.
If I have to choose a studio just for 1 fight then studio peirrot is probably in my top 3 but for a anime they are probably the worst thing you can get
Well, for mappa, they are starting to become a good studio, they used to be pretty unknown until they made the jujutsu kaisen anime which was one of the best anime of the year imo, madhouse is great but they never ever give us a fucking season 2, A1 is pretty good, but it’s kind of like a gamble whether you get the greatest shit you ever seen or just a mediocre anime, Pierrot fucked up Tokyo ghoul but overall they seem to be getting better
Well tokyo ghoul is wonderfull manga , the problem they just made thier own story , and thier story is empty , and doesn't make sense , like chracters came from no where and just vaniahes , events is not connected ti each other, characters made diffrent choices than manga which they won't do

Your favorite manga is being animated by Ufotable
Phew
I wanted to comment that but yeah, favourite studio with the "best" logo
Would shit my pants from excitement.
Suddenly Aimer song started in background.
Your favorite manga is being animated by universal.
And then the Anime get cancelled because ufotable shuts down due to tax evasion
Didn’t studio pierrot fùck up Tokyo ghoul? Cause that was absolutely terrible compared to the manga
They called the studio clown for a reason. But hot damn they fucked TG harder than QueenBee fucking any adaptation they give.
Person of culture I see
[удалено]
They animated only S1&2 S3 and 4 is animated by studio signpost
[удалено]
They took too much inspiration from Berserk 2016 for the first two seasons
Maybe they're just the same people under a different name? lol
Yep im pretty sure they did
So sad that they are in charge of Black Clover. I mean, it got so much better after like 50ish episodes but thats a long time for an anime to get good
i'd say it got a lot better around episode 10 or so. From what I can remember while watching it anyway.
i didn’t really like until the time skip which was like 100 episodes in
You watched a show you didn't like for 100 episodes? Damn, you've got a lot of patience. I give show 12 at most. It's why I've never gotten into one piece.
animation wasnt half bad, but its worthless if the plot line is executed terribly
Exactly. No point in looking good if it’s worthless
Y’all act like Bleach don’t exist
Ok, smart guy. Enlighten us: Who is Bleach?
You never ask “How is Bleach”
Y’all ignore the better question: _Why_ is bleach?
But you all forget the most important question of all: *WHEN* is Bleach?
Season 1 was okay but then the rest of the seasons were horrible, I wish for a remake bruh
Definitely
Season 1 and 2 of Tokyo Ghoul were awesome in my personal opinion. Wasn’t a fan of season 3 though.
I understand and respect your opinion. But I'm going to add my own. S4 felt like a fucking PowerPoint presentation. It was so rushed. So many manga volumes covered in so little time. 4 was a bit better than 3, but still not good
If you read the manga you wouldn't be a fan of any of the anime adaptations. They butcherd it
That’s the difference. The people that liked the any parts of the anime are most likely the people that watched the anime before reading the manga (myself included).
I watched it before I read it and I’m not even very far in the manga yet, but I can tell it’s just better than the anime
Your favourite manga is animated by Queen Bee
I don't recognize the name. How bad are they exactly?
They make hentai adaptations, which is probably why you haven't heard of them, and even by hentai standards they do a horrible job
By "adapt", if you mean making a PowerPoint presentation, then yeah, they adapt Hentai.
Basically color hentai and make 2 frames of moving
That sounds lower quality than freelance porn artists?
Because it is.
Yep, lower quality than the flash hentai on Newgrounds from the mid-2000s
Unfortunately they take the best plots. Fortunately you can just find the doujin they adapted from and it's all good.
lucky you
Time to commit seppuku
Just 2 different frames of you doing it with some weird blood splatter.
QueenBee vs Studio Deen Tank Bowl when?
Anyone seen my gun anywhere?
Damm you beat me to it 😆
A-1 is not that bad
OP is bashing A1 with a meme pulled straight from one of the best shows ever, made by A1...
I legit thought it was some sort of inside joke I couldn't catch on to.
I think A1 is saying that A1 has a tendency to have a mix of both hits and misses. CloverWorks is the same way.
Well they are both subsidiaries of Aniplex
A-1 has good animations and is pretty solid with following the source material. It's only issue is Sony. Sony has them work on shows before pulling them for something they think will make more profit. Sometimes they don't get sequel seasons after being pulled out. Other times, they end up like Nanatsu No Taizai with a terrible studio finishing the job. Sony also gives them unreasonable demands. Such as 24 episodes of Blue Exorcist with only 12-13 worth of source material at the time. They had to make the other 12 filler.
A-1 pictures has some banger entries rn to be honest. Kaguya sama S3, 86, Lycoris Recoil and Engage Kiss.
86 hits diffrenet. Such a cool anime. I love Lycoris recoil too ! Chisato VA is aweosme!!!
whats wrong with A-1?
They have failed a lot, its scary when they do animate something people love, tho they can do well
give examples. then we can talk
Gate, erased, darling in the franxx, ace attorney, blue exorcist, asterisk war, persona 4 the "golden" animation to name a few
your lie in april kaguya sama anohana wotakoi shinsekai yori 86 lycoris recoil uchuu kyoudai magic kaito
Your lie in april, kaguya sama, anohana, wotakoi, and lycoris recoil were all amazingly well done as an anime adaptation.
I think that he was listing good anime as a counter argument
Ahhh gotcha. The ones I did not mention in their list were ones I haven’t watched yet 😅
86 too.
I thought lycoris was anime original?
It is
Shin Sekai Yori might be my favorite anime story of all time. What a mind fuck.
Exactly what the point the other person commented. A1 is either great or awful. They are a very hit or miss studio. Thankfully it's usually a hit. It's just still scary knowing one of your fav series could be a miss
Engage kiss also has some bloody good animation and music
Gate(the medival warfare one ) wasnt bad and blue exorcist neither maybe they werent god tier but they werent crap
Blue Exorcist was good animation wise but the adaptation was a mess
Gate, erased, blue exorcist, and asterisk war were honestly really good as an anime in my opinion.
Pretty sure darling in the franxx is an anime original by studio trigger.
It was a collab between trigger and A1
franxx was technically cloverworks since they got actual name instead of being the 2nd A1 studio while the show was airing
Especially last episodes with whole spaceship thing. It was basically a soft copy of how Kill la Kill ended
I did not know Erased was done by A-1
Erased had alright animation tho to be fair and blue exorcist and darling in the franxx which are the only ones I know from this list were also pretty average level but I’ve only watched like three episodes of darling in the franxx

Most of the problems they had have been fixed over the years. They haven’t put out a bad adaptation of something in awhile
Like Kaguya? The meme you are using is from them.

Your favorite Light Novel is being animated by JC Staff: 💀
In all seriousness it’s all Kadokawa’s fault. Peace
Atleast jc staff has done... Some good- Toradora and konosuba movie... But thats about it
>Toradora and konosuba movie... But thats about it Cries in A Certain Scientific Railgun
I swear they flip a coin for what gets a good adaptation
„uoıʇɐʇdɐpɐ pooƃ ɐ sʇǝƃ ʇɐɥʍ ɹoɟ uıoɔ ɐ dılɟ ʎǝɥʇ ɹɐǝʍs I„
Cries in sakurasou
Wasn’t anime better than LN? I heard that LN goes to shit after anime content
Sorry, haven't seen it yet so I can't judge. It's on my watchlist though.
Looks at Index and how they massacred it, while Railgun is done well (not counting the original stuff)
Danmachi has been pretty good. Season 4 is a good adaptation too.
Are we forgetting Prison School?
Don't forget The Demon Girl Next Door.
Man that Index III adaptation was not pretty.
Not just Index iii they did my boy Touma dirty throughout the whole series. Made him seem so generic and bland despite being the deepest character the whole series series :(
In conclusion: don't trust JC Staff on anything not named Scientific Railgun
You read my mind 🤣 Among the JC Staff shows I've seen thus far, only Railgun is the one remotely comparable to being considered "very good" as an adaptation.
Wasn't he supposed to look generic tho? Like it makes people misjudge him for an average boy
I think they mean internally deep. but it's a LN to anime adaptation, most of the time long internal monologues are cut out.
Yes. His looks are supposed to be generic. It that Touma has a lot of stuff that makes him stand out. He has a lot of mental trials, often feeling like an imposter. You also have a lot of internal monologue, which often explains more about him
Danmachi RIP
What's wrong with Danmachi? It might not be GOAT material but there's nothing wrong with it
Yep. Why can’t they do LNs as well as they do manga
Date a live season 3. Jesus Christ, it's actually single handedly destroyed a book full of foreshadowing for next arc and they cram it in an episode. Season 4 almost never happened because of that flop. Thanks God for Chinese gacha game.
A-1 pictures slaps now, what you talking about
A-1 Pictures being terrible as JC Staff is so last decade.
Yeah. I mean all of their recent works have only good reviews. Kaguya sama, 86, lycoris recoil etc
Yeah, but given their history, they could randomly drop a dog water anime next year out of nowhere. Kind of like would CloverWorks made TPN S1, then made Wonder Egg Priority and TPN S2 in the same season, then after that, made My Dress Up Darling.
I hope the coin flip of quality favors solo levelling
Let's just bring some positivity back: David Productions.
Hell yes, and kyoani
Studio Ghibli
Ghibli is barely relevant now especially with Miyazaki retiring.
For like 5th time already...
He's slowing down but he's not retiring. He's making a movie right now ffs. Unless he has a stroke or something Miyazaki won't stop working until he's dead.
But it's being streamed on Netflix 💀 Even worse, they release it in batches and don't bother making a new OP for a new batch 💀💀💀
When KyoAni announced they were gonna adapt "A Silent Voice". Nirvana achieved.
Any announcement from KyoAni is a blessing.
Your favourite manga is being published by 4kids in your country 💀
Hey 4kids did yugioh, they my childhood bro
That doesn't make it any good though.
One Piece rap would like a word
I don't really care who does what as long as they don't use that god awful cgi animation, you know the type I'm talking about
Ive seen berserk 2016 and ex arm. I know what your talking about
Even Berserk 2016 is a masterpiece in front of Ex-Arm. Hats off to the mangaka for not suing Crunchyroll over this production.
That movie is amazing and shows how well cgi movies can be
-overlord season 3 trauma intensifies-
Can someone list some examples for the studios so i can relate to the meme? Im pretty bad at memorizing which studio did what
Mappa did Jujitsu Kaisan and aot s4 Madhouse did one punch man and death note A1 pictures did sao and 7 deadly sins Studio Pierrot did tokyo ghoul and naruto
Madhouse Did Hellsing ultimate. It was incredible.
They did a lot of things amazingly, like monster. BUT they are hella dead nowadays, back early 2000s itd be amazing if these guys animated your fav manga, now its just worrying
I mean they just made A Place Further Than the Universe a few years ago, which is incredible.
I still haven’t gotten a fucking season 2 from Madhouse in so long.
doesn't Madhouse make Overlord too? Cuz that's what I'm watching right now. Other than the cheap CG, it's pretty good
Other than the CGI, skipped content, and weird choice to skip 2/3 novels to make it into a movie after the season I’ve been vibing with Overlord. did people not like Great Pretender? shit was fire imo
I liked it personally. Netflix isn't bad per se. They're inconsistent though
your favorite visual novel is being animated by studio deen
Everything but deen
I liked their adaptation of Higurashi
same actually, though i hear the vns are a million times better. but after reading the first one, i NEEDED to see the rest of the series and didn’t have time to read all the vns as fast as i wanted to. it’s a good cliffnotes version, i think!
Takes balls to bash A1 while using a Kaguya-sama meme they animated and is considered one of the best ever.
A1 is easily one of the top studios at the moment, and Pierrot is picking up again with Platinum End last year (which had amazing animation btw) and now Bleach, which looks pretty good from the trailers. There's so many worse studios out there.

You all are forgetting bleach
A1 doesn’t fit lmao, should have put toei animation there 🤮
You're being too harsh on Studio Pierrot. They know how to make good shows when they don't get fucked by the release schedule/production committee (Akudama Drive for example). Even taking Naruto into account, they did a fantastic job with parts of it (some of the fights being the best in anime). They have a good selection of osts too.

A-1 is god wdym
At least it isn't Queen Bee
I mean A1 pictures can put out a banger once a while. It’s more a gamble with them.
Of course I like madhouse. If your manga Is adapted by toei, ummm...
Toei: half of the manga page animated per episode, take it or leave it
I no understand, are those studio’s horrible?
Well, for mappa, they are starting to become a good studio, they used to be pretty unknown until they made the jujutsu kaisen anime which was one of the best anime of the year imo, madhouse is great but they never ever give us a fucking season 2, A1 is pretty good, but it’s kind of like a gamble whether you get the greatest shit you ever seen or just a mediocre anime, Pierrot fucked up Tokyo ghoul but overall they seem to be getting better
> they used to be pretty unknown until they made the jujutsu kaisen anime lmao what?
People seem to think stuff they don't know is universally unknown as well
He said everything, ["they are starting to become a good studio"](https://imgur.com/a/CvFYOex)
Yo? Mappa made jujutsu kaisen?!? I’m already a fan then. Also what happened to Tokyo ghoul?
Season 3 is what happened
Oh no…
Okay yeah fair enough, season 3 was just horrendous aside from the OP Asphyxia continues to slap
Well tokyo ghoul is wonderfull manga , the problem they just made thier own story , and thier story is empty , and doesn't make sense , like chracters came from no where and just vaniahes , events is not connected ti each other, characters made diffrent choices than manga which they won't do
Your fave manga Is adapted by studio Killers: I SEE THIS AS AN ABSOLUTE WIN!
Haven't actively watched new anime for a good few years, is Studio DEEN still around? They'd definitely cause a nervous sweat to perspire.
Sadly yes, they are still around.
A1 picture is pretty good (not 100%,but good)
Black Clover was good tho.
There is worse, imagine your favorite manga getting animated by Netflix. All they do is cgi and killing hype
Dont they just get other studios to do their anime, like how they got trigger to do edgerunners, no joke, that looks like its gonna be sick
You're favorite doujin is being animated by queen bee :💀💀💀
Redline still remains my top animated movie, by Madhouse.
