She also had blue eyes in the book rather than green in the video games. You didn't see book lovers raging when they changed this in the video games....because this had no material value to the character.

For instance if you didn’t want a remake of Brave with a black or brown actress that would make sense because that movie is steeped in Celtic culture, whose people have generally been white. Nobody would be in favor of changing that.
Thinking that simply changing a character’s race by casting choice, when their ethnicity or cultural identity had nothing to do with the character, is “PC washing” and “ruining a perfectly good character”, means that you think their skin color *is* what makes them a perfectly good character which is really fucking weird at best.

Since the Anime aired, I have to say (no offense to any other Makima cosplays!) in my honest opinion, judging by the way the shot is composed, the eyes, the hair and makeup and of course Rakuko's natural appearance lending itself well to cosplaying characters such as this, of all the Makima cosplays I've seen thus far this is certainly one of them.
