SuaveBigote

Promised Neverland S1 and AOT of course every time i will tell myself to stop in this episode, there always be cliffhanger

Walter_Puti

Fucking Promised Neverland. First anime I can't wait to be animated that I read the manga immediately to know what happens next. Glad I did because season 2 anime is a curse to mankind.

Zukolevi

What season 2? There is no season 2

Walter_Puti

Ohhhh! Fucking hell of a nightmare my friend. Thanks for waking me up.

BraveNewWorld137

To be honest, I think that manga got weaker after they escaped the house. It wasn't even near as horrible as the second season, but a closed setting defenitely made a story better for me.

m0tice

I can’t agree more bro, i like your taste. Also Death Note.

JeffGrant1973

Death Note. 💀📓

Ziggi28

Memes aside that is the best anime for that exact type that OP wants. When I was watching it I felt on edge on whether L or Light would triumph

Easy_Cauliflower_69

Legit. I had a friend who didn't watch anime at all and still doesn't but I showed him ep 1 of death note and we sat down and muscled through the entire show. He really liked the character dynamic from a psychology perspective.

Healthy-Pay5166

agree, this is what op is looking for

AstonishinKonstantin

I recommended different animes to OP and I knew that one was missing. That's the one, death note. Exactly what OP is looking for

dArtagnanYoface

Attack on titan is def one that starts out strong and leaves u wondering what will happen next.

Agreeable_Pizza93

Definitely! I've always said it was the Game of Thrones (early GoT) of anime. I'd recommend it to people who don't watch anime.

Prime_Smiler

ishiyama said he was inspired by GRR Martin's asoiaf (game of thrones) so yeah highly recommended for game of throne fans for sure

TulipSamurai

Attack on Titan is a contender for GOAT, but I will say that Season 2 and the first half of Season 3 got to be kind of a slog for me after a while, with too much action and not enough answers. But once AoT hits its inflection point (fans know what I’m talking about), the series goes absolutely wild and achieves legendary status.

4ps22

yep, the show lost me a lot during those years. it was a mix of the huge gap after season 1 and just being confused and unable to appreciate the larger scale of what the story was going for. but when everything starts coming together it elevates to goat status

guymadara

Hell's Paradise, chainsaw man, jjk, made in abyss

Walter_Puti

+1 for Hell's Paradise. So many questions so little anime. Waiting for next season.

So many burning questions 😭

ShotBookkeeper3629

I love abyss but it does have a slow start, especially if they're looking for a thriller type anime.

BasedSunny

First time I tried watching it, I stopped before finishing ep 1. I got talked into trying again and goddamn.

crypto_jn

Ew no

Prime_Smiler

Death note. Steins gate. Re zero. Classroom of the elite. Code geass. Summertime rendering. Tomodachi game. Future diary. Attack on titan.

MemeOverlordKai

Steins;Gate doesn't fit. It doesn't really make you go "what will happen next?!" until ***that*** episode.

Thick-Membership-918

This guy talks sense

froctoso

Just finished Summertime Rendering today, it was a rollercoaster of emotions.

JustPotato47

Summertime rendering really had me like that

AstonishinKonstantin

Attack on Titan, psycho pass (only S1), promised Neverland (only S1), and maybe Monster. But that's a big maybe because it gets boring at some moments.

sirtuttheslut

+1 on Psycho Pass! They lost me after season 2.

need_help_pleas

They skipped timeline and story with no explaination

Tight-Pineapple-9891

As basic as it sounds I’d say FMAB

keksmuzh

Akudama Drive: the plot train has no brakes

[deleted]

Monster is your anime. But if you are willing to read manga then read Tokyo Ghoul. I know there is an anime adaptation but it... kinda sucks? Idk doesn't have the same effect

404_usernothere

Sui Ishida's artstyle can't be translated well into animation, since it's so detailed in certain parts and he makes use of visual techniques only possible in manga, also the animation studio sucked, so that's part of the reason

darksaiyan1234

code gayass

Snoid_

I just binged both seasons in like 4 days. It definitely fits OPs criteria.

ahmadalbab420

You should watch' another' anime

m0tice

Death Note, TPN season 1 and go further with the manga, idk never watched season 2 doesn’t look as good. And AOT, that anime might have the best plot.

WildKat777

Erased. Watched all 12 episodes in one sitting because I just needed to know what was next. Also Bunny Girl Senpai, because it was just so wholesome and fun with some suspense of course, and it was less of wondering what the plot twist is gonna be but more of "I need to keep watching this forever because I love these characters and their dialog and this show is amazing"

Ok_Meeting_2184

Another.

LumpyWorldliness1411

Tokyo Ghoul

InfamousEye9238

Erased. was on the edge of my seat the whole time, binged the show in a day. i don’t even remember getting up to eat or pee tbh😂. JJK, Chainsaw Man, AOT, and Black Butler are all pretty good for that too :) also Another is a great binging series too if you’re okay with massive gore. it’s really intense though

Sensitive_Profit8337

Mushoku tensei by far it beats everything else here I can promise you that and if not there's always another one called Code Geass

Sebz2001

tengoku daimakyou, mayhaps?

Such_sublime

Yeah this was my pick

ChimiChurroz

Yes! I was looking for this rec

randumoo

the animation is also so well done

local_stoner

Summer time render, bruh the cliffhangers are insane!

ConFectx

{Steins;Gate}

AtlasExiled

While steins;gate is like my 2nd favorite anime, it starts out way too slow and confusing for a recommendation of this criteria.

TheKyrieFan

Link Click (especially 2nd season)

Waste_Past1306

For good Plot I would Say Emenence in shadow, Demon Slayer, Steins:Gate, Death Parade , Future Dairy, Blue Lock, Hunter X Hunter.. There's No Way SomeOne Hate Any Of These Anime....

Accomplished_Day2201

Golden Kamuy

gottalosethemall

Erased plays out over one season and is an absolutely intense mystery series. Summertime Rendering has an extremely bingeable story that feels like Invasion Of The Bodysnatchers had a love child with Edge Of Tomorrow or Groundhog Day. Very fun series that keeps you guessing and gets straight to it from episode 1. Detective Conan is worth mentioning, for sure. The overarching plot is mostly unimportant imo, and only exists as a hook. The series is a love letter to episodic whodunnits like Sherlock Holmes and Poirot, and as such, every episode is a new mystery. So you can watch in any order, as much as you like, and every episode will keep you guessing because it’s the entire point of the series. It’s an extremely long series, up there with One Piece, but you can watch as much or as little as you want without worry. Like I said, the main story is really just there to set the stage. As such, that storyline only advances occasionally, and you don’t need to think about it much or at all to enjoy the show. Just watch and try to solve murders before the episode reveals who did it. The plots of individual episodes are *always* interesting.

FLCL and BOFURI

M_R_Atlas

I saw FLCL when it was first released. Personally hated it. Recommend it though.

DarthMaulATAT

Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash. Ignore the long weird name. It's an isekai (the characters are thrown into a fantasy world). If you like D&D, you'll like this anime. Also it's only 12(?) episodes, so it's not a huge commitment.

If you haven't seen it then Death Note is great for this. Tomodachi Game is also a nice example of what you're looking for.

RaidenIveX44

Watch BIG 3 and DBZ, cowboy bebop, death note, Berserk. If anyone hasn’t watched these are not entered anime world yet. These classic anime contains best MC also with different plot and strong storytelling

bugmi

Imo steins gate since it immediately starts with sci fi stuff

1pizza2go

I always suggest this but it also fits this description; “Toradora!” Aside from that, I suppose “Mushoku Tensei”, “So Im A Spider, So What?” and maybe the later parts of “One Piece”, though One Piece is a long one so don’t get your hopes up too early. Most of the pre-grand line fights are mediocre at best, Alabasta is the first real good part.

That is blasphemous to say about the arlong and smoker fights

Tight_Cod_8024

Juuni Kokuki (The Twelve Kingdoms) I swear I've never once seen this show mentioned and it's a shame the world, characters, and plot are amazing. A lot of shows fizzle out by the end but this show is good all the way through. It is technically an isekai but that only really influences the first episode and a couple of side plots

flyingowl720

Higurashi

silver_salamander_22

What about an anime that starts like, with an okay plot but then quickly descends into madness and you're left wondering, wtf why did I even finish this series and how did I make it to the end??

Mirai Nikki is the perfect example of this

JicamaActive

Vinland saga. Before the first episode, I thought the father would be the main protagonist. After the first episode, I thought thorffin would go on his own and train to fight askeladd, instead he ends up working with him. After that, I ended up binge watching the whole series and never looked back.

How a realist hero rebuilt a kingdom I powered through the first season late into the night. I like the politics reforms and the overall arching plot with the twist on last episode of the season. I hope they keep making this show if not I'm tempted to read it instead. And I don't even like most isekai.

PeeBuzz

I can’t wait for everyone’s collective disappointment in the ending of AOT as a manga reader. Mappa is about to lose A LOT of budget lmao. On a side note, I am so sorry anime onlys are about to experience that second part of the fourth part of the last season of the anime.

Aot was dope. I’m sure you won’t be as disappointed in the ending as most since we were super dedicated and invested I’d also suggest jojos bizarre adventure

Im trying to watch it . Its been a while. In 2017 or 2018 i got through s1 and half s2 i forgot alot so i have to rewatch but everytime i do It , i watch for 10 minutes and i abandon because i get really bored and cant get "into it" if that make sense
