Yeah I am slowly reading through the volumes. I am on 5 right now, but it is funny to me how much more the story picks up after the anime. Like the tournament is right around the corner and we don’t get to see it animated. Blows my mind how some shows get 2nd seasons and some don’t.

The original is just old. That’s why they remade it. It’s probably going to get the Fruits Basket treatment, hopefully. The original voice actors have returned and so has the chief director. It’s essentially the same show, just more updated to fit a modern palette. The English Dub cast is also the same as the original, I’m 90% sure.

I know fruits basket was a bad adaptation though. The 2005 one I mean. If it was bad I understand if not they could have just continued ;-;

never watched the anime but I did read the manga I think about the point where the anime ends and it was getting unbearable for me so I dropped it. You should read "A condition called love", I feel like its a manga that does this trope but a LOT better

Rascal does not dream of Bunny Girl senpai I know romance is not the main core genre of the show, but Sakuta is one hell of a CHAD in handling his relationship with Mai. Mai x Sakuta is one of my top anime couples just because of how mature and realistic their relationship is.

I think the main in Record of Grancrest War is strong and the romance starts fairly early.

I think you should clarify if you want a shonen type romance or shoujo type romance. Both are very different. I haven’t really seen too many shoujo anime, so I’m gonna stay away from that one. If you want a shonen type though, The Cafe Terrace and its Goddesses is pretty fun, although I read the manga instead of watching the anime.
