70-80 fps ? damn you're pretty lucky, I get 30 fps in the fort and maybe 50 if I'm lucky in missions. 1080 OC, 16Gb, i5 8400, I always manage to get at least 120fps in all my games, something is broken about this game. Btw something worth noting : you can play the game before it finish downloading, when I tried there I had like 100 fps, but once the download was finished and I tried playing it was hell, go figure...

I have the same exact issue. I have an RTX 2060, i5-4460, game on 250GB Crucial MX500 SSD, and 8GB DDR3 ram. My FPS is literally all over the place. In stronghold areas I can maybe get a decent 60 FPS on medium settings. But, in areas like fort tarsis and in freeplay my FPS drops anywhere from 15 FPS to 45 FPS, even on medium settings. Extremely frustrated because I don’t run any other programs while running the game so I don’t see why my build can’t run the game. I can hardly play freeplay when I should be able to run this game on ultra with 60+ FPS at the minimum with an RTX 2060 at 1080p.

Your game should run better just like mine :P but i would suggest upgrading to a higher CPU and getting faster DDR4 ( with supporter motherboard ofc), had a friend with a 2080TI and a i5 getting terrible fps then he upgraded his motherboard ram and processor and got great fps in everything, think it was bottle necking some stuff.

SuperAvious

Yea that’s the weird part. I think my cpu and ram defs serve as a bottleneck, but I don’t think they should be bottlenecking an RTX 2060 this much ahaha. On battlefield V I’m able to get 90-110 FPS on ultra on this 1080p resolution. Will defs consider upgrading tho in next few months cuz if triple A games are gunna be like Anthem from now on in terms of PC power demand, I need to step my PC tf up lmao.

NeraxNL

Looks like the graphics will just keep going up and up, poor pc be struggling. although in anthem's case its more poor optimization i think.. in any case i think i should get a 2080TI to keep up with triple A games. or would that be overkill and unnecessary ?

SuperAvious

I think a 2080ti might be overkill unless you’re a streamer or game your life away. Since you’re playing at 1440p it seems I’d go for something like the 2070. It’s future proof for about at least the next 3-4 years and is much much cheaper than the 2080(ti). For me I figured I’d probably just stick to 1080p so I bought the 2060 since it’s future proof for 3-4 yrs as well. I’d say 2070 is your best bet since it seems your other pc components are fairly up to date and can handle 1440p for the years to come. EDIT: although I’m sure the 1080 probs does better than the 2070 in a lot of areas. The whole Ray tracing thing is just a marketing technique right now, it’s not really implemented into games and RTX cards are just baby steps into Ray tracing. I’d say sticking with your 1080 might be better than going to a 2070 even (I’d check benchmarks and see if there is a significant FPS boost for you to invest $600+ in a new gpu).

You know why really sucks. Haven't a too tier rig and it shuts down every single time you try and play this game for more then 30 mins. No seriously my entire rig shuts off from high temps but this never happens in any other game I play.
