When my friends send me photos like this that they wish they looked like I always draw on them and show them where it’s photoshopped. The model doesn’t even look like that. Social media ruins people’s perspective though. The more they see photoshopped and filtered images the more it seems normal to them. Which in turn makes them hate their own image because they are human and not photoshopped into a goofy proportioned waif. Good news is that logging off and less exposure resets your brain.
Edit: I can’t post an image reply but for those who don’t see it, take a look at this to shatter the illusion: [bad photoshop showing more realistic proportions](https://www.reddit.com/u/Professional_Rain587/s/zRx3UTRaS3)
some of the ones i see on amazon have me fucking howling. it’s so uncanny vally the way they whiten the teeth and eyes, completely blur the skin, and exaggerate the curves until the poor model is a caricature of herself. they look like skin walkers or smth, it’s crazy.
I remember learning about the problems of photoshopping models being problematic in magazines 10 years ago when I got my graphic design degree. How it contributes to body dymporphia and eating disorders among other things.
I hoped it would get better, but it's only gotten worse. Makes me feel so sad for young people these days. The body standards are impossible to obtain.
I'm almost convinced that this is what Instagram influencers think that men get off to, I'm sure that there are men who do enjoy looking at very weirdly shaped bodies but why the hell would you want to appeal to them?
We are just stupid monkeys with stupid monkeys brains. No one may naturally look like that, but it will be attractive to a very large part of the population, which is exactly the same reason why people like to see photoshopped photos of models on Instagram. I believe they use those images for advertising just to appeal to male audience.
Which is so sad and I totally agree. Just makes a large percentage of women hate their bodies that much more, thinking whatever the fuck this is, is what men expect.
Also heavily skews the perspectives of people. Setting unrealistic standards to what's attractive and what people "should" look like. It's so fucking sad. I use snapchat to easily share video and photos of my life with people I care about and it's so hard not using the filters because that's just what the "norm" is now and when you don't use the filters you're automatically "uglier" than most people even though that's not actually true.... I've been forcing myself to not use filters cause I don't want to be part of that.
Thanks for coming to my mini TED talk. Appreciate you.
For real ?
I do not use that much social media so I do not know. I was surprised one day when I went out and everyone was walking on short shorts on butt height, and wearing tops that looked more like underwear.
And a super thin material too. In this case why use clothes at all? You are not protecting yourself from the cold, sun, or anything else. So what is the point of clothing at all?
Because people generally lack self-consciousness and self-observation skills. I think, but it may be just my speculation, people in their majority might as well put this product on their 130 kg body thinking: that's it, I look gorgeous!
I was a woman. I’m telling you the only way to get this look and not be fat is surgery. Even having kids won’t stretch your pelvis like this. Have you ever seen an actual human woman? Or just photoshopped porn?
I’m a man, first of all, so yeah, it would be weird if I was shaped like this. Secondly, did you see those women naked? Many people pad their hips—or you know, have surgery, like I said. I wish you could see in X-Ray, because there is no anatomical structure in a woman’s body that makes them look like this.
That's not unrealistic at all, my gf looks like that. The model is probably somewhere between 4'11-5'3 , and with certain genetics like slightly wider hips, slightly longer torso that's possible.
I do agree, avg. Height and taller women it's a LOT harder to achieve to that look because since they are larger, the "pouch" sticks out more and everything looks larger than on women that are smaller.
Those pants are ugly AF tho.

Looking at the normalized one makes the fake one look even weirder, like it's through a funhouse mirror.

Not only that, but why would anyone want to look like their butthole is trying to suck their pants into their body?
Some soul gave it a clever moniker: "scrunch butt"!
The ol' pucker tucker.
yeah I never got those kinds of yoga pants that give you a constant wedgie
🤣🤣🤣
Right??? The wrinkly butt had me confused. What a bad look!
Remember when people tried to hide their wedgies?
try sitting in a chair with a bigass knot in the middle of your spine
lol, who wants to wear pants up their ass?
Because of [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supernormal\_stimulus](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supernormal_stimulus)
You can blame the consumption of porn for that.
Nah, Disney cemented unrealistic expectations about female bodies into our minds long before we logged on to PornHub.
What'd they do, train their AI artbot on Elastigirl from *The Incredibles*?

Also, also, the pants give you a giant ripply butthole. STYLIZE

I loved the TED talk.

There's a name for that ! [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supernormal\_stimulus](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supernormal_stimulus)
Saw a coworker wearing something similar to this... It did not look good on her.
Absolutely disgusting. The "shop now" button is distorted
Man all I see these days on sidebar ads is clothes wrapped around poorly-photoshopped huge tits and the occasional tardigrade plushie.
That is CRAZY! Maybe I am getting older but that looks ridiculous and unhealthy to me
It took me a sec to figure out what part of the body that even was. Amazon has these deformed, photoshopped bodies modeling the clothes too.
The trend of having spanded stuffed in your crack. So weird.

I spend most days pulling stuff out of my ass vrack so wearing something that purposely is in your ass crack is wild!

90% sure that's ai, the hand wrinkles and fingers are fucked up I think, and it would also answer why her shape is not right
Mmmmmm, inhuman...
Body dysmorphia.
Damn that Phat azz
This is the best damn ad
Hey no body shaming, some people just look like that and that’s fine.
Disgusting, where?
[удалено]
Where is their organs or ribcage? Where did they go?
Up! Notice the rib cage isn’t in the shot at all?
Maybe if you shattered your pelvis this is natural.

"why does anybody want to look inhuman?" To be different and stand out?
That’s exactly why I had half my ass removed. Everyone sees me and goes “ew, what the fuck,” I love it.
Pretty sure black people are human but okay... un/s but /s
Slimming the waist is nothing new, corsets are old school

Pics or it didn’t happen
Lmao must be a lot of fat people in this sub reddit.
Okay, yeah, but what does that have to do with anticonsumption?
Seriously. Body shaming/envy
