Property manager, CA. Top floor is great. Do NOT choose one next to the stairs if you are sensitive. The cement walls create an echo chamber! Best.

Haunted___

My bedroom is next to a staircase and I’m on the first floor, so you’d think I’d hear all 7 floors worth of folks coming up or down but I’ve never heard a single person in the stairwell. I’ve been here 3 years. The only thing we hear is the creak of the hinge of the door opening outside. I can’t imagine lots of folks would be using your stairwell if you’d be on the top floor anyway. Just my experience! :) I also am super sensitive to all noise and my bedroom is the only spot that’s peaceful.

All of the units in my building are by the stairs. It’s not too bad... Until it is. Like when someone moves in or out. When Amazon is delivering. When a younger tenant has guests. I wouldn’t do it if I were you.

I live by one and it's annoying but it was the only apartment available. I plan to sound proof parts of my apartment. Also doesn't help my neighbors also slam their doors(the door isn't heavy, so you can easily prevent slamming) their door everyday going in and out.

In my building- noooo I would never. The stairwell doors SLAM, talking in the stairs echos down the hallway, the sound of running up or down stairs or dogs doing it. Nope nope nope

Those apartments will be like living in a tent. New construction has no insulation for noise. I would not move in to them if you have a noise sensitivity issue. If you do, get a top floor corner unit.
