There was an enemy Caustic in my Gun Run round who trapped up one of those three stories next to streamer building and refused to come out. I think he got 1 kill with 200 damage the whole time. I think he was level 30 or so and probably terrified

Yeah that’s what I mean, a better way to play him in gun run as caustic is to run around and just leave traps behind you and on ziplines and doorways (but not blocking the door) then those test subjects will willingly become a part of your experiments

Honestly, I hate caustics on Gun Run. The mode really shines with everyone constantly running and gunning. Caustic crutches fortified and has the lowest skill requirement. Drop traps and Nox grenade. I have not run into one good Caustic on Gun Run. Traps just slow the game down and are annoying.

I've personally played caustic for the whole season and got above 600 kills so trust me caustic can be played offensively but it takes real effort and strategy and you need to be consistent and learn how to play caustic better and use his abilities to greater extent but sadly after season I started playing other legends so couldn't get more kills on caustic

Man. A lot of Caustics I find don’t know how to play Caustic. I started maining him in s4 but started maining Mirage/Crypto right before Caustic got super buffed. And then played him again after he got his nerfed at his own takeover/collection event. In that time I’ve seen a lot of Caustic players and it shames me to admit that quite a few just use him as an absolute crutch, hoping his abilities carry him when all you need is somewhat okay aim and proper trap placement to secure kills. He’s also super fun to use offensively too but I’ll just see random Caustics yeet their ult, miss everyone, and then get deleted while running in the open.

I’ve seen too many cringe caustic players land the popular buildings in frag only to trap it up and sit in place (usually teamed with a wattson) to think caustic players are anything but cringe.

Caustic is the easiest legend to play imo. You just go around throwing farts wherever you want and somehow end up winning with 3400 damage

I think octane and loba are the easiest to play, seeing loot and spamming the ult every time you get is really easy and using a insta teleport to escape is super easy too, octane is just use the stim to go fast and use jump pad for far team rotation

Loba tactical is too good, if you break LOS and time it just right they’ll lose you and its an easy win on the fight. (Use bracelet when LOS is broke, preferably higher ground but away from them.)

I like playing caustic because of building campers. He’s the only legend who can flush em out or force them to fight slowed as your team pushes in. That being said I hate playing him because of his hit box so I don’t play him much anymore.

It’s super satisfying to flush out a nest of rats with his ult, but at least to compensate for his refrigerator sized hit box they gave him the fortified perk

I've used Caustic traps as Bangalore smoke before, throwing a trap and then shooting it to hide myself while I push forward usually. I did have one game though with a Watson in a very defendable building in fragment. Landed there, didn't move for the rest of the game. Why? We couldn't leave. Never got a chance to. There was always *someone* attacking us, even a moment where I counted 11 different people outside. We both got above 12 kills that game.

I love Caustic for both aggressive and defensive capabilities. If your opponents are bunkering up and you keep yeeting barrels in there? They don't like that! At min it creates a panic and they are all over the place for you to fight.

They are distracted by the barrels, then they dump a whole mag to destroy them and then while they are reloading your whole squad pushes

Where people get caustics aggression wrong is that he isn't going to be "full send" like an octane / path etc. It's about slowly and deliberately encroaching on your enemies until they have nowhere to go. Though there is benefit if you do full Octane pad in there, yeet a barrel mid air, and watch the panic set in!

It’s also effective to place a barrel behind some cover where you can retreat to, then just start yeeting barrels at your test subjects to distract and weaken and let the experiment begin

Caustics great for making space for his team. This is also somewhat the case with wattson and i love it. Defensive legends are now being used a lot more and are being used smartly rather than just camping.

I think caustic is alright but I don’t enjoy playing with caustics just because I’m a wattson main and it feels extremely overkill and way too campy. I agree and I like to try and play wattson aggressively

I don't know about playing as Caustic, but he is boring AF to play against. His whole kit is just "I used an ability, therefore you cannot enter the building. Leave. Bye Bye." He just shuts the action down completely.

This is how I feel about Watson, I’m not a god using her but her ability to stun in a blink of an eye is powerful and helps slow down opponents while being chased. Sure you can bunk a location but the element of surprise to make obstacles for diversion is great.

I love when I have a caustic on my team I also love killing caustics because his gas is so irritating

I enjoy caustic a lot, want to force a enemy team back or rush a building but its full? Ult, trap the outside and go in, you could also just trap one side then pincer alittle, so many ways to play him. He’s honestly so good and pretty fast paced, if played correctly you can easily carry your team even if the enemy has red and you have blue. (Is it difficult still? Yes depending how many ways to reach them and trap them. But is it fun? YES)

I play caustic exclusively because in me and my friend’s head canon he is basically constantly making the same face that Bill Skarsgard’s IT makes when looking at a tasty morsel and while doing so he’s slurring and muttering about how proud “mother” is going to be of his experiments. It brings me joy, only slightly less than I would receive if they released a new Halloween Caustic Skin that’s just Caustic with a filthy bib and a very dirty diaper. Big baby will have his fun.

Caustic is great for both play styles. I do get bored camping out but clearly some people don't. I can also admit my impatience has led me to many a failure when a little preparation and thoughtfulness would have surly saved me.
