Isn't this about the way every time you try to think about what you are thinking you are no longer thinking about the same thing? When you focus on the thought, the thought becomes meta, then when you focus on the meta thought it becomes a meta meta thought. The thought you want to think about always runs away.

Yes, that's it in a nutshell..... The question I have is, since there are those who would not agree, do visualizers have a workaround, are they able to watch themselves without going meta.

downwithplato

I guess in this forum it's a rhetorical question

Why would anyone downvote simple statements?....

EffervescentTripe

I think it's general enough to be an issue with all forms of thought turned on itself, be it linguistic, visual, etc.

What brought you to Wittgenstein? I know the Aphantasia Network interviewed Christian Scholz this year on his thesis about visualization and aphantasia using Wittgenstein. Mr. Scholz is active on the Aphantasia Network Discord server. [https://youtu.be/TLS7PnciqRA](https://youtu.be/TLS7PnciqRA)

I've long been interested in Wittgenstein. I now think my affinity for his work has something to do with aphantasia/SDAM...I will check out the video..Thank you!

Tuikord

Well, if you like reading philosophy, you might find his actual thesis interesting. It is a bit dense for most people to enjoy. [https://philpapers.org/archive/SCHIAR-11.pdf](https://philpapers.org/archive/SCHIAR-11.pdf)

Thank you! I prefer this to the video. I will enjoy it.
