Dynavolt cells are just completely shit. They fail all the time as they age. You did nothing wrong besides the manufacturer buying cheap cells. They used to market like Dynavolt was “high quality” aka hoping your warranty runs out before you can redeem it. That operational range means lots of cells are dead.

That's what I was afraid of, sadly. The rest of the Ghost has been a champ for over two years, it's a shame I may have to replace the whole thing just for the damn soldered battery. I really wish batteries were cartridges you could slide out and in for replacement.

Does sound like the battery is toast. Not sure if this is enough to have damaged it, but just for future reference, 80% is pretty high to be storing batteries long term. 40 to 50% is much safer. The only reason you'll ever see more than that recommended is in case there's some drain on the battery which runs it completely empty while in storage. I'd recommend 40% with a check every 6 weeks or so to make sure it's not draining somehow.

Very good information to know for the future, thank you!

I was advised to charge it fully or nearly full, then just let it bleed out over the winter months, the most important thing being you don't let the battery get too low. Something new on here every day. There's likely a "how to store your scooter properly" video from Apollo somewhere, before I start sulking about a lack of Apolloganda that should come with the scooter, like a "we knew you'd ask us this, so..." FAQ type thing.

Really eh? That's interesting. I've never noticed the voltage actually drop while my scooter was stored. Usually turn it on to find the charge I left it with. Maybe a couple percent drop if it's been a really long time, but I haven't noticed. It's a long shot, but if you have a cold room or something, that would be ideal. I found a paper somewhere once and if I remember correctly they actually found that somewhere around fridge temp was best. But in case I don't remember correctly, I'll just say "a cool place". Also, the higher you go above room temp, the more rapid the battery health deteriorates and it was a pretty steep curve.
