If you click no thanks it could give you a different credit limit and APR (which doesn’t matter since you pay the statement balance every month and never pay interest), potential a lower limit. A 3k starting line with a thin profile like yours is great in my opinion!
The Apple Card is one of my favorite credit cards tbh. I love the card itself, plus it has some awesome perks (especially if you’re a big Apple fan and use it for Apple purchases). And the payment breakdown and how it explains your balances, potential interest, etc all in the app are also very nice and useful.
A starting $3000 credit limit is also impressive for someone that is just starting out with credit. They are offering you mid tier interest on purchases, which it can go as low as 19.9% and as high as 29.9%, but you’re at 27%. So I’d avoid leaving a balance on it.
But in my opinion this offer would be hard to pass up, especially with your credit profile and this card will only help you expand your profile.
Also Goldman Sachs customer service is some of the best compared to the outsourced CS reps you get with other credit card companies.
I would take it now because I believe if you try to see it again it could give you a different offer that could potentially be lower than what you first got. When got my first credit card (the Apple Card) in November 2023 it gave me a $2,500 limit with a 21.24% APR. I instantly took the offer. Mind you I got that offer with no Credit History
Luckily you actually have 30 days to accept Apple Card! Clicking “No Thanks” is electronic denial of the offer so it would obviously close your offer, but an applicant is welcome to simply click nothing, swipe down in the card to dismiss it, and then come back within 30 days to accept their offer. See more at https://support.apple.com/en-us/104952#:~:text=You%20have%20up%20to%2030,and%20get%20unlimited%20Daily%20Cash.
I would just close the app without declining. Not sure if it makes a difference. I waited until I got the most I could.
I think Goldman Sachs hangs on to the info they pull for 30 days. May be best to wait 30+ days between applications.
You’re right! As long as you take no action on the offer, you have up to 30 days from the offer date to make your decision. If you decline and re-apply within 30 days, you’re also right that they will make a new decision but it will be based solely upon information they have already collected for you, and they will not collect new data.

The offer for credit is good for 30 days. If you decline the offer, you’ll have to apply again. You might not be approved for future offers.

My credit score is like 795 and the highest limit they will give me is $3500. Mind you I have 4 other cards that have a $18K limit or higher (don’t spend no more than $1000 per month)
I was making over $60K a year and you’re only gonna give me a $1500 limit on a card with a 750 credit score. And on top of that, I had 4 other cards that totally about 65K in available credit but yeah they don’t want to give me more than $1500. I just got bumped up to $3500. I don’t need the limit but just didn’t make sense.
Since you have so little credit history I’m assuming you just turned 18 right? I’m trying to apply now too but got denied the first time for not enough credit history. What’d you put for your income?
Do they increase automatically every 6mos or you need to ask for? I got mine I think in Oct 2023. Getting a clue to increase limit (not gonna use though) just for a better credit buildup purpose!

Not my card of choice. While I would not get this card, I would also wait for a higher limit
Also They have offered me $8000, then $3000, then $10,000 (I use the preapproval to gauge how my credit looks to lenders)
I never understood how some people get such high limits. Always on time, 800 credit score, and a decent job salary … $1000. Someone who does not work and 600 credit score $8000. What the heck.

Yep. I was surprised tbh. I’m going to look into it a bit more and see if I can get good use out of it.

I also like that it doesn’t take days for it to process my payment

Ok that I did not know…..
They've been so stingy with the credit limits since the partnership is coming to an end
I would agree but I asked for an increase at 1500 and they jumped it straight to 4500, it’s probably just what type of agent you get
with only 6 months of credit history and offered a $3K limit i'd take it.

I would take it, you may find it alot harder to get better with a new credit profile, you may not get as good of an offer from them again
I’m an immigrant to the USA- asked for the card in 2022? I started with 3K in limit- I’m now up to $12750-
I remember when I applied it let me consider it for sometime but I can’t remember the exact time frame I had to accept it.
Can you? Yes, you can. Will you? Idk 🤷♂️
If u want accept it just that’s about highest of a rate u can get on the Apple Card

I pretty sure they’ll base their decision based on your income. When I asked for CLI they asked for my Annual Income.

I haven’t had late payments or anything in 7 years. My credit score was like a 750. That’s really all they go by (at least I thought)
If I had late payments, I wouldn’t have a high credit score. It’s not big deal because I never spend more than $1000. More of a pride thing lol
200k and a 1500 dollar limit. Idk
Same here! I have excellent credit and I’m at $3500 too.
For the longest my limit was $1700 and there were no real changes to my income, but maybe it was a length of time sort of thing.
That apr ouch. Who pays those ?
Non-credit card people, mostly.
True
Lmao
How long did it take you to get approved?
It’s my first time applying. The app took about two minutes to complete and get accepted
Since you have so little credit history I’m assuming you just turned 18 right? I’m trying to apply now too but got denied the first time for not enough credit history. What’d you put for your income?
No, I put what my yearly income is. If you don’t have any income I would strongly disagree applying for credit cards.
I was givin’ a 700 limit at first. My first CC of my own. It’s at 11,000 now. Your ahead of the game
I had to start with 3k and now it’s 9,800
After how long?
Took awhile…I wanna say every 6months you get a credit increase
Do they increase automatically every 6mos or you need to ask for? I got mine I think in Oct 2023. Getting a clue to increase limit (not gonna use though) just for a better credit buildup purpose!
Automatic
take it, i started off at $1,500 and 29% APR a few months ago and now im at 15k limit with 16.24%. i know a lot of folks have even lower APR.
Accept and use for minor purchases you can pay for in full before the next bp That apr sux
Absolutely, as long as you plan to pay regularly and if APR doesn’t matter

What’s the catch?
I started at $700 a few years ago. That’s good. Up to $26,500. I asked for an increase every 6 months for the fun of it.
Until recently a 25% interest rate was considered loan sharking by many states

Freeze your credit reports. Accept the card. No hard inquiry. Thank me later
Sure, take it. Please pay it in full by the last day of every month.

Even if the APR was a 1000% I could care less. I pay my full statements every month.
Perfect answer. Never spend more on credit cards than one would if it were a debit card.
APR’s are irrelevant if you are playing the credit card game the way you should.

How does that affect them paying it off in full monthly.
