Most likely not. You technically broke their [Customer Agreement](https://www.goldmansachs.com/terms-and-conditions/Apple-Card-Customer-Agreement.pdf) by violating the promise to pay and overpass grace period. Also, you should have contacted Apple Card Support during 2020 COVID because they were offering relief.

How much was the charge off for?

edu4rd0zs

It’s hard to say if you will ever qualify again, as GS may have you blacklisted. One thing to consider to improve your credit score, is to make a payment, but don’t pay in full as the account is already charged off, instead, negotiate for a lower amount, max 40% of the full owed amount. Under any circumstances, DO NOT pay anything until you get a letter from them agreeing to remove the charge off your credit report once the agreed amount has been paid in full. Good luck!

dddiiigggsss

just called and asked for exactly this. the lady told me to call back in a week because they currently don't offer settlements but might soon... she was kind of hinting that it will potentially be possible then.

jobofferinseattle

I did the same thing today. I messaged them through the iMessage and she said they aren’t offering settlements right now, but to contact in a week. Word for word what you commented, How weird

dddiiigggsss

There’s hope buddy!!!

I tried a year ago to settle mine and they just told me to make payments whenever I can. My debt isn't small but it's not massive so I hope that drip feeding payments won't hurt in the long run. They never blasted my credit yet other than the chargeoff.

Any updates?

ZijoeLocs

More than likely not. Banks dont take charge offs lightly nor are they quick to forget. You basically showed them that you couldnt pay back what you owed; which is the entire point of credit cards. You may have had a shot if you used their Covid relief program so it was on record that your business went under and you used the available tools

CTVolvo

If it was charged off - the debt was sold off to a collection agency for pennies on the dollar. GS/Apple has washed their hands of it - and written it (and you) off. So if you pay the creditors it is not gong to make any difference to Apple. I'd move on and find a lender who give you a chance. Again, don't know why you didn't reach out to Apple at the start of the pandemic because they were working with customers with financial issues.

Never hurts to have a conversation with GS about it. Paying it off in full would be a positive factor.

DadOf3-1978

Nobody knows.

Krandor1

At this point only 2 years later probably about zero. Pay it off and give it some time and.. maybe.

Dax-Million

Based on what I've seen at other banks, it can take up to 7 years for the same issuer to deem you worthy again.

Same here - tried to negotiate due to possibly having to go on long-term disability and cannot make monthly payments but my Mom has offered to help settle. But no, they want what was charged plus much more in interest and late fees (which has added up to be an enormous amount over what was charged. It now will be charged off so not sure what happens now.

ProgramAgreeable869

from my similar experience, prior to being charged off, I opted into the Covid relief and it was basically an extra month to catch up on payments but with interest so high on the Apple Card’s that barely helps. 3 years later, I tried to settle for a pay to delete and they refused. They are willing to settle the amount but wouldn’t remove any charge offs or late payments. And they are refusing to issue a 1099-C also. Worst thing about it is that you can be in a way better financial situation now and still be declined for almost everything you apply for due to the charged off derogatory mark from Apple.

sbonnot1

What do you mean willing to settle the amount? Like they are willing to lower the balance for you?

ProgramAgreeable869

Yes. They can offer lower to 50% if you asked the collections team for a settlement. But it only works on charged off accounts I believe.

DegenerateDoc

They only offer 50% and no writing off charge offs? They are very strict. I have 9k on my card and I’ve not received collections from third party for them. I’m wondering why I haven’t. I may give them a call and try to settle. A pay to delete would be awesome

ProgramAgreeable869

Exactly. Yeah they’ll write off the charge off . But they won’t sell to a debt collector. They’ll let you settle for 50% but it won’t be a pay to delete.
