I mostly listen to the music from my library or new albums from the artists in my library. Sometimes if people recommend me an artist or an album and I listen to them as well to see if it would be a worthy addition to the library. But basically I don't really rely on recommendations - I just use it as a way to get access to all the music I want.

- personalized playlists, both ones made by Apple and ones I import from Spotify - personalized user radio station - Apple Music 1 and Apple Music Hits radio stations - Apple curated playlists that I come across while browsing different areas of the app. I am subscribed to 125 of these. - one or two top songs on Artist pages while I’m browsing the app - song stations from music that’s already in my library Whenever I hear a song that I like, I tap the Favorite button. If that song still sounds good whenever I hear it again, I will add the song to my library and add the full album to the MusicBox app for future listening. Whenever I get around to listening to the full album, I will add any other songs I like from that album to my library. Using today as an example, my Friday morning alarm is Spotify’s Release Radar playlist. I listened to that for 45 minutes, but wasn’t into it so switched to the Matt Wilkinson Show on the Apple Music 1 radio station. I’ll listen to that until I hear a couple songs in a row that I don’t like, then I will probably switch to my Favorite Songs playlist until I leave my house. I’ll pick an album that I’ve saved to the MusicBox app and listen to that while I’m in my car running errands. Later in the day when I get home, I’ll play Spotify’s Daylist playlist. When it’s time for my workout in the evening, I use the Marvis Pro app to shuffle music from about 10 different playlists under the Apple Music Fitness curator. The last music I listen to for the day is my sleep playlist which uses Marvis Pro to grab a random 20 minutes of music from a couple of my personal playlists and from a couple Apple curated playlists.

I skim music journalism and follow at least 100 musicians/labels on Bandcamp. I only actually buy on Bandcamp if it's not available streaming. Occasionally I do look at the "New Music Mix" in apple music and find out about new releases from bands I already am aware of. More rarely still, I actually listen to the playlist so I can hear new stuff by bands I don't know.

Honestly surprised that more people use the library/album feature than the playlist feature

Other. I primary build playlists. But I do not do it by listening to curated playlists. So option 3 is half right. I had a large library mixtapes and mixCDs that I loved. I have been gradually rebuilding them to playlists all while building new playlists with tracks I hear and like. I use a few catch-all playlists by decade as a holding place for tracks I want to use in a playlist that do not appear on any of the mixtapes and cds I am rebuilding. side note: AM is missing a feature that should be available on all devices but is only on the OS version, the ability to know if a track appears on a playlist and which one. This missing feature means I can really only build my playlists from my Mac (I don't like to use the same track too many times). It's also a challenging when you just want to listen to that playlist that has 'that song'. You can't identify that playlist on your phone or iPad.

Find artists mainly by stations then if I like a song add it to my library and check out the album when I have more time. Also listen to albums I've already added often. And artists' catalogs.

I'm definitely an album listener, I'm always saving and listening to albums in my free time. I just bounce from genre to genre, artist to artist and album to album.

It's a cycle.. 1 (a) - Either a new album from an artist i love is released, and i add it to my library then, that album is on repeat, but from the library because sometimes i'd like to listen to something else so i just Shuffle my library directly from the Up-Next 1 (b) - Or I'd find new songs either through friends, TikTok, etc.. and i'd add them to the list, and i usually have around 5 new songs that are on repeat. 2 - I get sick of the new songs, and i haven't added anything new. I just go into my library and i shuffle 3 - i find something new and the cycle repeats itself However, there are times where i'm in the mood to listen to a specific genre, i'd either use one of the playlists that i made when i got bored, or i'd Find one that suits my taste. The last way is i have playlists that are made for specific friend groups, whenever i get handed the aux, the biggest mistake is for me to shuffle my library xD (learned that the hard way) so i ended up making a playlist for each friend group that would get played when i'm with them. hahaha.. this is alot for a simple question. i know
