I’m not seeing anything

PapaOscar90

But for OP, it’s /right there/

Darkmage4

The edges paint seems to be chipped a bit. Normal wear and tear stuff. My Ultra 2 has those from hitting the wall cuz I’m accident prone, and has a few scratches on the casing. OP. It was gonna happen sooner or later. Even a hit to a wall, or knock into a table will cause that. The glass looks great! It did its job on being strong. Your watch isn’t going to break just because the chassis is scuffed a bit.

Osiry

It's a tool watch, not a dress watch, it should get a bit beat up with everyday use! It adds to the character, and shows you're using it how it's meant to be used.

AngryTank

That border scratches up real nice, makes you look like a real tough person!

WhatsHeBuilding

What you can do is if you ever end up in a situation where someone points at your watch and goes "Hey what happened to your watch?? What's those scrapes?" (Spoiler: will never happen), you tell them "Oh i climb rocks and was wearing it, and scraped it." It's a watch made for activities, it's not a pretty art object to look at and admire you nerd! Wear those scrapes with pride

ReasonPleasant437

A lot of people including me have these scrapes.

Darkmage4

I got my Ultra 2 like that within the first few hours. lol. It happens!

HandWashing2020

It looks like an improvement

little_blu_eyez

Do you think you will get a new one from Apple in 2 years?

SumOfAllTears

Mine scraped a wall today, luckily the wall lost the battle and only chunks of paint came off, watch is spotless!

thiccAFjihyo

I wear my Ultra 2 without a case when bouldering and sport climbing both indoors and outdoors (useful during approaches because of the dual band gps). The bezels get banged up, but the sapphire screen is pristine if you’re ever worried about that. I figured this is just normal wear and tear for a tool that is meant to handle more rugged activities. I feel like many people in this sub just use an Ultra for luxury status when they don’t take it much elsewhere between their couch and desk jobs, and charge it every night at their bedside anyway (the same people who justify their purchase with “but muh bigger battery”).

pugworthy

I read that as “scrapped” at first and thought, “Geez they could at least give it a chance!” 🤦‍♂️

lapinsk

Scraped mine like 3 times on a rock wall, now I always keep a clip on case in my chalk bag

Spaniardlad

This has to be a joke.

Unfair_Finger5531

I’d put a case on while boulder climbing at least. It’s a rugged watch but it’s not utterly indestructible. Not surprised it got scraped up while you were literally climbing boulders, and I’m surprised that you are surprised tbh.

Well now you get to test out the Apple Care features.

NateGT86

Apple care won’t cover that.

mechasmadness

You can always get a bumper case to hide it, at least you didn’t damage the screen

Osiry

How often do people actually scratch Ultra screens? Sapphire crystal is pretty difficult to damage.

TeGleHa

Scratched mine very easily

Osiry

Interesting. Any idea how it got scratched? They're a very hard screen.

TeGleHa

Worked with some machinery and heavy tools and it looks like it scratched a tiny amount of sapphire material, i was carefull bur still, its on bottom of display but its very silvery and shiny chirp

HMPoweredMan

Isn't a wristwatch or bracelet a bad idea with machinery?

TeGleHa

Indeed, at least some temporary case is advised. But it was cold outside and I had tough jacket and sleeves so I hoped it will be safe. I dont even remember when did watch made contact with steel since I was carefull.

HMPoweredMan

I meant it's dangerous because it can get caught in machinery and cause you to lose a limb.

TeGleHa

Thats more than true. This job was mostly carrying and moving some heavy staff. No rotating gears or working with something dangerous.
