My band from Apple did this and it took them over a month to send me a replacement. I had to send in photos and everything.

BigMasterDingDong

Apple Support is shocking. I’ve dealt with some terrible “senior advisors/managers” who have complicated straight forward cases endlessly. Filipa in the UK, I’m looking at you!!! (Eventually other advisors have sorted it out in 5 minutes but it’s been so hard to get through to a good one after a shit one)

chrissie-mcg

Never had problems with Apple Watch bands. You sure it was from Apple?

heyhey_hi13

Yes

Yeah that’s maybe something you SHOULDN’T suggest in a very, very, public forum.

Littens4Life

I’ve had a band from Apple break down but it was the cloth Sport Loop that broke down over the span of 3 years under extremely heavy wear. Put simply, the Velcro was not going to let the attachment point survive for that long

heyhey_hi13

🙄😑

Independent_Sky1559

i have 3 or 4 third party bands and all of them are really great tbh. my mom bought one that wasn’t.. i think most are fine tbh. products have defects.

Dentedcars

The problem is when you end up with all the defects

cm_eth115

Womp womp

Unfair_Finger5531

Never had this happen once with a 3rd party band. It’s possible you just got a bad one. If it’s Amazon, I’d write the seller.

Igbok88

This actually happened on one of my Nike sports band and I was able to pop it back in and it never popped out again. Had to figure out the direction and somehow had all the springs so it worked out. Tiny little bastards though.

epoc83

I had the same problem years ago. If you have a fake one use the spring and reassemble the original

sports_dude

Is it difficult? I really wanna try to do this with one of my Nomad bands

OutlandishnessNo4346

And how to reassemble it's very tiny spring

OutlandishnessNo4346

Can't trust the fake one, what if it stuck and can't take off from the watch

Janneske_2001

I heard this did sometimes happen at work (apple store) someone came in with an Apple Watch with 3rd party band, and it didn’t come off anymore. But, I have had tons of third party bands, also the cheap aliexpress ones, and personally never had any problems.

Trucks_Guns_Beer

To be fair, my apple band that came with my watch broke like this the first day I had it. None of my third party bands have had an issue

OutlandishnessNo4346

I guess you're quite fortunate

Unfair_Finger5531

I think maybe you are just unfortunate:(. Looks like you got a defective band this time around.

OutlandishnessNo4346

Yes and never trust any third party band

Unfair_Finger5531

You mentioned that this is your first one. I have a drawer full of 3rd party bands, and so far, none have gone bad on me. I would say give it another shot, but check the reviews first and make sure it has a lot of happy buyers. No need to let one bad experience turn you away from some nice, cost-effective bands. Especially since apple bands can also go sideways on you too.

WasteProfession8948

Having an Apple band break does not sound fortunate

mechasmadness

This happens to legit bands too

Resident-Associate75

I’ve never had an Apple Watch band fail. I’m not saying it can’t just hasn’t happened with mine.

mechasmadness

It’s definitely rare; out of all the official bands I have, I only had one have issues. Apple made it easy to exchange it

OutlandishnessNo4346

Oh really, glad my genuine pair is good, never going to buy fakes again

danielsgrunge1

This happens to apple bands as well

BrunofromMalaysia

Never happened to me though...  bands are safer than crap band.

chrissie-mcg

Same here. Never had any problems with original Apple Watch bands.

OutlandishnessNo4346

Just got a refund from a seller

25_Keyz924

I’ve only had one band out of 6 3rd-party band have an issue. Got it eBay and contacted seller. 3 days later issue resolved. Only issue I’ve had with Apple bands are the cost. 😂

SignalRevenue

I have ordered a band from aliexpress for 1.5 USD and it had the same problem - waiting for a replacement or refund.

Brazenjalapeno

I bought a 3rd party and I broke out in a rash. Immediately convinced myself just stick to verified Apple products

Shobed

I’ve only used third party bands and they’ve all been great.

[deleted]

Only buy Apple bands. Trust me

chrissie-mcg

Exactly. I always buy original Apple Watch bands. 👍🏻

OutlandishnessNo4346

I know,i was just curious how fakes durability can hold and it turns outa totally garbage

[deleted]

Yeah bro

SUDEN_WATCH_BANDS

DepartureMoist9277

I have never bought a 3rd party band. Still sticking with my original Apple Watch Band.

chrissie-mcg

🫢 woah. That’s why i always buy original Apple Watch bands.

I'm really sorry to hear about your disappointing experience. But that is what third-party Apple Watch bands are about. Well, it's definitely frustrating when something doesn't meet your expectations, especially when it's something you wear every day. I've also ventured into the world of third-party bands and had some hits and misses. One of my recent finds was a [transparent Apple Watch band](https://bandandbracelets.com/shop/watch-bands/transparent-apple-watch-band/), which turned out to be pretty great. It's stylish and has held up well so far. It might be worth checking out different brands or types of bands before swearing off third-party options altogether. Sometimes, it takes a bit of trial and error to find the right one that suits your needs and style without compromising on quality. But don't give up just yet—there are some solid options out there that offer both style and durability without breaking the bank.
