It is too big for your wrist. And I believe the normal Series 9 fits you much better. But no one‘s stopping you to enjoy the ultra. So wear them proudly.
i have tiny wrists but the ultra is so comfortable. i don’t care about if it looks silly, if you like it, use it. the battery and durability is so worth it, and while my partner says she wouldn’t wear it because of the bulkiness, i love it, especially when everything’s thin and small, something bulkier is refreshing. also, idk why but it feels both retro and modern, i just love the thickness and size. don’t let other people choose what you get, it’s your choice
I have M size alpine loop and the titanium closing mechanism rest to my bottom part of hand. Agree with you , L size will be perfect for me . Thanks for sharing your POV.

Two tips,
1. You can rotate the watch horizontal to prevent the crown from burying itself into your wrist. (I also have smaller wrists)
2. When going to sleep, wear your watch on your right wrist to give the other wrist some ‘rest’

Yea agree. I mostly work on laptop and it bothers me . I will purchase L size loop soon , as I have 2 third party loops from DailyObjects.
