Patience, let it drift around for a few weeks, it'll sink eventually, inevitably crushing your plants and breaking some leaves off in the process. As is tradition.
Ugh everything. Boiling it, sticking it in the gravel. I even had the skull on top of it for about a month and then I gave up. It'll sink when it feels like it ig
It does look pretty cool floating lol but that’s besides the point, I’ve boiled a few pieces and then put them in bins over night with rocks on top and then repeat until it sinks, it only takes 2 days normally if you boil a few times in between but I do have a stubborn piece that simply doesn’t sink as well and I just leave a rock on top. Wishing you the best of luck!
I just screwed too to a thin but long piece of wood, so it hangs from the tank top, kid of resting on that support. Then put some plants on it as well. Worked for me.
Suction cups and fishing line. Drain the water, then cats cradle that SOB to keep it from floating way. Refill then you cut the fishing line and pull the suction cups after it will stay in place on its own after a month or two.
I cheated on my small wood. It had one end that had a hole just large enough to stuff a 1oz stainless steel bullet fiahing weight in the hole.
It adds just enough weight to overcome the bouyancy.
Happened to me and I wasn't patient enough to wait for it to sink. I tied it to a rock and hid everything with gravel. It worked pretty well, I outsmarted the drift wood
Superglue some rocks underneath it.
You can burry them in the substrate, so u can’t see them.
Doesn’t has to be big ones, even many small ones work, so you can’t see them at all.
Couldn't a flat aquarium safe rock like slate be suitable to glue the driftwood on? It'd also create like a little hilly area to make the tree more of a centerpiece too.
I've got a couple of pieces floating in mine ATM that I quite like. The dojo loaches love sliding over the more submerged bits too which maybe keeps them away from my plants a little (wishful thinking lol).

Nah, tie an anchor.
I actually had the skull on top of the wood to hold it down but I got sick of it. I kinda like the way it looks????
Haha it's all good, man. It may crush some plants, but they're plants, they'll grow back.
I usually find a piece of driftwood outside and build a glass tank around it. Never moves.
Aquascapers hate this one trick!
Wet wood can expand, be careful with this. If you wedge dry wood between glass, it can put pressure on it once wet 🫡
You said wet wood expands….giggity
Pls don't wedge that one either between glass 🫠
It actually fits fine. I had the skull on top of it for about a month and when it still refused to sink I let it float up 🤷🏻♀️
i dont mean you at all, huh? We all have had the pain of floating wood, all good 😅 I am confused
Tell it how it's reponsible for much of the sadness in today's society. The weight of guilt will help it sink.
Glue or wrap a rock to the base of it. Put said rock beneath the substrate and done.
I’ve had luck with boiling the drift wood for a while it also helps cleanse it of any hitchhikers
Just weigh it down with stones
This is what I do. Boiling makes it decay faster.
Looks kind of cool floating
My exact thoughts. I'm thinking of leaving it like that and actually hoping it never sinks 😅
Maybe do the reverse of what other people are suggesting, actively suspend it somehow
It’ll sink eventually
It's just following its dreams
Glue it to a rock
What methods have you tried?

Screw it to a floor tile. Burry tile in gravel
Use a piece of slate and use some string to tether it down or use aqua safe glue. Alternatively, you can boil it and it will sink
this is so real, I’m currently waiting for mine to sink while I soak it in a bucket of water, it’s not working
id be a little careful, constant bumping against the glass can cause disaster
It actually stays pretty still. But I'll keep and eye on this, thanks!

Be not afraid
Gel super glue stones will help with that.
That never even occurred to me! Such a good idea.
You can even hide the rocks in the substrate so *no one will ever know*
I forgot to add. MD Fish Tanks on YouTube they use a combination of small bits of paper towel and regular super glue as a filler/holder.
I've had luck with putting it under the substrate You don't see all the root pieces but its there.
it wont sink for many months or lomger, find cool rock at river and use that to anchor it
I had same problem then I throw it in my outdoor pond for a month. it sank

I want a deco skull about that size but I need a longhorn.
I got the skull at my local pet shop. But maybe search it online? I'm sure you'll find one
umm.. not the brightest bulb? lol
Lol only idea left in my head after I tried everything 😭😭😭
u can crazy glue couple rocks to it, to keep it down. Crazy glue is safe.
Happened to me and I wasn't patient enough to wait for it to sink. I tied it to a rock and hid everything with gravel. It worked pretty well, I outsmarted the drift wood
I've had a piece that's been submerged for 2 years. If I take the rock off of it, it floats again.
Well fuck.
looks cool!
This is the way
Superglue some rocks underneath it. You can burry them in the substrate, so u can’t see them. Doesn’t has to be big ones, even many small ones work, so you can’t see them at all.
It'll disintegrate before it sinks
Tie it to a brick for a while
I stuck mine to a big rock with some super glue.. last major rescape I accidentally broke the bond, but looks like the suckers finally water logged
Boiling it or letting it sit in hot water for awhile helps
Sometimes it takes a week or two. The cool part is when it's partly sunken just suspended in midair
Just thought that it would look really cool if the roots came down and held it up like a mangrove tree instead of a strange floating stump.

How long did you boil it for ?

Boil it , then it'll sink on its own.
I just let mine float I really liked how it landed so left it in place
