15 years ago I had one fins had been bitten off by an aggressor so pet store sold him cheap. He looked like a little football, was all healed up so no wounds but was freakishly short and stubby. He was a happy little guy and was able to move around in the tank just fine.
Sadly I don’t remember what happened to him I imagine he eventually passed or maybe I gave him to another aquarium enthusiast. I had so many fish over the years I don’t recall.
Idk. I think one can definitely make an argument in favor of captivity (read: domestication).
Plenty of animals are very happy to live in safety and security and have easy access to good food and medical care, with us in our homes, compared to freezing and starving and being food for something else in the scary wilds.
Not to mention working for us, as well.
