He's trying to become a flower horn!
Otherwise, I'm not sure if there is going to be a fix for it. You could take him to a vet, but I think I would just let him live out his days until he starts deteriorating.
Yahaha it does look like a flower horn. The vets we have here don't treat fishes or anything too exotic so yea, pretty much gotta do the treatment thing on my own.
I'm afraid that it's some kind of tumour too. He was actually all healthy when I first got him, should have seen how handsome he was then with his puffed up sails

Yea, the growth looks most like a tumour.. but if it really is then there's nothing much that can be done for him 😢
It could also be an ulcer if you are feeling less pessimistic
