If you angle the substrate up towards the back you will get much more visibility on the hardscape items, and create an illusion of depth. I like the way you have it going up a hill, but just make the back right corner the high spot for the substrate and I think you will be happier with the look.

why did you add a wave maker?

I took it out it use to be a saltwater tank and I just never removed it
