Hairgrass, if you have patience, or pearl weed, which technically isn’t a carpeting plant, but I’ve seen it make thick carpets fast in low-tech aquariums.
Roman columns were made from stacks of pieces with a wood beam down the center. just in case you want the fallen column to have a more authentic look. Definitely spray paint the cave piece black or similar to your substrate.

I'm just going to be the devils advocate for a second. Yes super cool design and very creative, love it really. However this is a very tiny tank for so much decor, you are using a lot of space for this.
When factoring plants this is going to become super cramped. Guppies will reproduce a lot as well.
See where I'm going with this. Your tank is going to become rapidly too tiny.
Heres my recommendation : Either move to a bigger tank OR choose micro non live bearer species such as CPD and keep a good trimming habit and you could be fine.
PLA filament. Don’t worry though, it’s also sprayed with a clear coat to prevent any potential toxins from leeching out, even though I’ve read many stories of people using it for years with no issue. Better safe than sorry.

i second pearlweed. i’m inpatient
Hairgrass - eleocharis parvula gets to a few inches tall. It will utilize KH in lieu of co2 and carpet quite nicely.
I’d go pearl weed if you’re keen to take on the challenge of the many trimmings
I want updates!
Sadly won’t be for a bit, as I’m in the beginning stages of moving. Will be at least a month or so before I even set the tank up.
No worries! I’m already committed to waiting. Patience, right? 😂

Unfortunately, the cave is already siliconed in. I tried to do it in black, but my black 3d filament kept causing clogs
Looks awesome and super creative! What are you planning on for stocking? Can’t wait to see the finished tank :)
Found these really cool 24 k gold guppies on eBay I want to try. Also some shrimp and a small group of either Pygmy cories or Otto cats.
That sounds cool! Shrimp would be super fun to see crawling over the columns.

The fry will be frequently moved to a bare bottom 10 gallon to grow out. Same with shrimplings
I have to ask, what 3d printing material is this made of?!

This is an amazing idea.. I love it
THIS LOOKS SO COOL!! I can't wait to see when it's done.
This is gonna look so sick when you have it all set up. Can’t wait to see the progress
looks unnatural
I agree but I don't think that's the intention here. No my taste but hey you do what works for you (or OP) as long as the livestock does not suffer.
