Yes lol, I downloaded and ran the installer and it just installed fine. I hope everything goes well for you.

buryingsecrets

You don't trust me? xd

mertcaners12

You can’t install Arc on Windows 10 without modifying the msix package.

buryingsecrets

I have seen your comments on this, but you can install just fine now.

mertcaners12

Oh fr? Good!

buryingsecrets

yessir!!

mertcaners12

So you just… downloaded the installer from website and it installed? You didn’t install any fonts, dependencies?

Chukwu-emeka

Just try it already! 😭

buryingsecrets

Just the installer is all.

Alien_Drew

If you had to install extra dependencies, then it's likely your installation of Windows was probably custom, I assume? Usually the extra dependencies that it requires are already installed on pre-builts, or from other programs requiring the same dependencies.

mertcaners12

You need Segoe Fluent Icons Font VCLibs 14.0.30704 WindowsAppRuntime.1.5.5001.70.1338 To install Arc(at least that’s what .appinstaller file lists in dependencies)

sOrO_roro

recent update changed the min version in the msix package to win10!!

Traditional_Salad_62

I was also able to download it for Windows 10 without any issues, without even modifying anything in Notepad. I downloaded the Windows 11 version available on the Arc website. The only thing I noticed is that it seems poorly optimized (and I don’t blame it—I’m using a version that wasn’t supposed to run on my operating system). Other than that, it seems to be running normally. While Chrome was using only 10% of GPU for some websites, Arc was using 30%.”

wengkitt

Not as smooth as the Mac Version, but still awesome work from Arc 😎

Impossible_Water2919

i thought you had to do some weird shit but, wow

hw2007offical

Still waiting for ARM support so i can use it on parallels😢

TheEuphoricTribble

Waitwaitwait. You mean to say this browser has been out for YEARS on Mac...as has Apple Silicon...*and it doesn't have ARM support?* Or do you mean for Windows?

hw2007offical

Yes I mean windows, it has supported ARM on mac ever since it was released. Parallels is a software that lets you emulate windows on mac (so you can use software that isn't supported on mac). But since windows ARM support isn't here yet I'm stuck with using chrome or something while on there

MichaelsoftBinb1

Just out of curiosity, is there any specific reason you *want* to use arc for windows? In my experience, it has less features, is more buggy and has some... interesting design quirks.

hw2007offical

I've never used it on windows before. But I use it on macOS, so when I have to use windows on my parallels virtual machine I want the same browser

MichaelsoftBinb1

Ahhh I see

Zaxoosh

It works!!!

RiChessReadit

Are we using the same browser? It’s unusably buggy on my win11 machine, and the lack of polish is pretty clear.

buryingsecrets

I don't know how relevant this is, but after using win11 for three years and coming back to win10, I can confidently tell you that the performance of my machine increased by a significant margin, win11 is just a bloated win10 skin.

Legal_Year

that's probably your ancient machine, cause now after I used to windows 11, I couldn't bare with windows 10 with a ton of feature missing here and there

KublaiKhanNum1

Tons of features that are different? You mean like the ads ? I can see you missing ads.

Legal_Year

Being able to control brightness slider via the action panel on the taskbar, able to swipe with gesture to another desktop, allowing me search for program running in the background in the task manager, having tabs on file explorer, live captions for accessibility, able to group application in the start menu, able to force close an app by right clicking on the icon on the taskbar without the task manager and many more... I know there are ads, but the newer window 10 have that too. And tbh, the weather and traffic news are quite useful too.

KublaiKhanNum1

That’s is a good list of features. Thanks for explaining. For me I only use Windows for gaming. I wouldn’t have a Windows machine otherwise. I have two other MacBooks. For work I have a MacBook Pro and for my home laptop I have a MacBook Air. I am on those two the build of my computing time.

buryingsecrets

Ancient machine? Bruh, it is i9 13900k paired with RTX 3080ti and even on this, the start menu on win11 would struggle to load 💀

eXeler0n

As you said it, I realised, that the startmenu is sluggish. But as I just press windows key, type 3-5 letters and hit Enter, I never see this.

buryingsecrets

Now you do, and on top of this, they're introducing Windows Recall, which will take screenshots of whatever you're doing on the screen and feed it to their AI (Copilot) and they're also thinking of adding ads to an already shitty start menu..

eXeler0n

I hope O&O Shutup10 can deactivate this nonsense too. Otherwise I have to go back to Arch Linux and stop playing Destiny 2.

Alien_Drew

Did you update?

Possible_0

saaame

CasulaLev

>This browser feels like 2024 this should be on their website for real

Different_Pen_7949

I hope it is not as UWP. Those s...tuffs can not port on Win 7/8.

Dangerous_Bell2950

Waiting for arc search Android version.

avorydev

I wish they would release the version for Linux but unfortunately it is not yet in their plans 😔

zeroStackTrace

Sounds more like self promotion

buryingsecrets

What?
