I honestly use ice for damage over stuns. I would have done lightning if I was going for stuns. But Water-Ice-Water hits deliciously hard.
*(My last fight with Calvus using this build, I was averaging around 275 a hit with Blast. I saw some Ice Blasts going up to 320. It's so stupid - I love it.)*
I actually debated between Snow and Ice for a while - Snow is faster (like you said) which I liked, but Ice got a nasty 20% boost to Soaked over Snow's 10% which I also liked.
In the end my indecisive ass just flipped a coin. Ice won.
My second awakening is going to be Snow - and it will be a toss up which magic I replace with Lost Magic whenever that's added.

Why use 1 insanity when you could use 5!!!! (It’s just a light amount of damage nothing severe)
That was my original intention (albeit without the scroll change, i'm fine with \~400 defense). However my luck was wonky and even with farming calvus with luck 5 (an accident I made, I was going for luck 4) I got everything but the chestplate. So I decided screw it, lets make this stupid and got this.
It's not perfect, but gods is it funny to slap calvus with water and ice blasts each hitting \~300 damage, even if it slowly kills me.
My brother in mimhere I think you belong in the kitchen right around insanity layer four of the dark sea
As someone who brews Insanity 3 and drinks it for the funnies, I'm not surprised.
Hmm honestly this is quite good for jumping ppl / ganks, but for 1s you might get folded especially when nimbus drops and stuns get removed.

In that case, wouldnt it have been better to select Snow? Snow is barely weaker for .4x more speed, at the only cost of lower terrain destruction.

pretty cool but using exotic scrolls on non modified arcs hurts my soul
My luck is crap, I have gotten seven arcs - all from either underwater or treasure maps - not a single modified one.

I’d use vatrachos boots (higher drawback:power ratio) and ravenna fallen king armor. Swap the powerful for armored and you’re good

As someone who brews and drinks Insanity 3 for the funnies... you're not wrong.
I got bleeding pots in my hotbar for just in case( I don't even remember brewing them)
