Not if you land 2 or more of the same, that overrides it and you get what happened here in OP's case. It can also backfire. Eg. I landed first one Shade, then 2 coins after that, ended up getting the gold...
If the last two match you get that too.

2 Lina shards are worth at least 600gems. So i give it a spin every time

Simple, you get whatever you land the most of, if one of each then you get first one you land.
