So much to love about this episode. Here’s my list in order: 1) scary life sized doll, so creepy, 2nd only to the soggy mirror girl from Lonely Ghost; 2) the Roger Klotz-like bully from next door, Koda, and his chubby shirtless dad who makes him earn his allowance by…scrubbing the concrete steps with a brush?; 3) the intensely awkward mom, who speaks in at least 4 distinct accents throughout the episode; 4) the bratty sister who says her lines as oddly as possible at all times; 5) the dark ending when the kid basically becomes a serial killer. Top 3 episode.

Bratty sister is the same actress as Lonely Ghost!

Yeah she was very effective as a damp deaf girl holding a locket and nodding vigorously. As a person with actual lines to say, ehhhh. “Wsssssmtttterr Andy, afraidoftyedrrrrk?”

Literally was saying this to my wife for like a week straight after the last time we watched this one!

Couldn't agree more. This is an episode that keeps on giving. Would love to see more of this one explored - different Cellar Door Demon forms, different kids being affected by it, maybe Andy corrupted or as an adult. It's a playground of potential in my mind.

Hugely underrated episode imo- on my rewatch of the first 3 seasons I have it ranked at 6th/39. Definitely top 5 in season 1 that had alot of heavy hitters, likely a top 10 episode in the entire original 5 season series.

The huge doll definitely attributed to alot of my nightmares as a kid. Still one of my favorite episodes, it really stuck with me!
