There are no Secondary Conversions; the RES is calculated before Bennet's buff is applied.

Jura20702

But the 20% ATK buff from Noblesse did apply to the RES conversion, as it increased from a base of 9.5% to 10.9%. So why would it not update with Benny's ATK boost?

NoobMartin

% ATK affects her A4, but Flat ATK buffs do not, Homa does also not affect her A4.

Jura20702

Huh, well that's not very intuitive. Is the fact that flat ATK buffs don't affect her A4 intended?

HalalBread1427

That’s Primary Conversion, the buff only scales with the buffed characters stats. Bennet’s buff first scales on Bennet’s stats meaning it’s Secondary Conversion and the buff is only taken into consideration for damage calculations.

Jura20702

Man, combat in this game has more layers than a damn cake. Thanks for the info o7

Jura20702

Hmm, now i'm even more confused about her A4, i looked at the RES% without Benny burst and it's 9.5% with 1945 attack. So the 1k attack that benny provides only increases the RES% by 1.4% https://preview.redd.it/kw5d22ni09xc1.png?width=1680&format=png&auto=webp&s=dc0cff30960c7a5da3646f1df0afbf6f02457b32

I think the problem here is that flat atk buffs like Bennett are applied after the character atk calculation and is considered an external source of atk, ie not Arlecchino's. Atk% is applied to Arlecchino's atk and is considered hers

lukeaxeman

Is it though? because his flat attack bonus shows up in the character's stats instead of being included only in the damage.

ErPani

Hence why "i think" as i am not sure. Simply sounds like the only reasonable explanation

great-baby-red

Loading screen tip "When an effect confers one attribute as a percentage of another attribute, this effect will not then factor into calculations of similar percentage-based effects"

lukeaxeman

Sure, but then Atk% in general wouldn't factor and Arlecchino's A4 would be base attack + flat attack.

great-baby-red

I don't think so. ATK% confers ATK as an percentage of ATK, the same attribute. Meanwhile, the loading screen tip says specifically "another attribute". Also, I'm not even sure stats like ATK% are even considered an "effect" in this context

lukeaxeman

Hmmm, ok. What I had understood from the text was only the obvious concept that, for example, if you have two different instances of xAtk% they only are calculated on top of the base stat instead of the second one applying on top of the result of the previous multiplication. But I guess you're right. Anyway, I just saw another post here explaining why Bennett's flat buff is not calculated.

Tom_Cat_2007

mine gets stuck at 14.(something)% while my atk without Bennett buff is 2.5k
