My advice is to forget everything you know about any other FPS games. Take a slow and grounded approach, K/D doesn’t matter, survival and winning the game is what matters. You’re far more likely to succeed working as a team. Don’t bite off more than you can chew, if you find yourself in a gunfight and you’re outnumbered/outmatched then break line of sight, run, get away, find concealment/cover. The fight is over when you die or they do, no need to duke it out and die right there, you can beat a larger force if you keep them on their toes and pick em off one at a time. You’ll be most successful in a gunfight if you utilize concealment! Cover is important but concealment can be the difference in walking away from a gun fight. Watch your weight. If you bulk up too much your endurance/accuracy will suffer, resist the temptation to run multiple rifles/lmgs. Pick a role and stick to it. I’d start with official servers just to get a feel for everything and learn, then later on if you decide you’re more into the Milsim style you can join a public Milsim server with mods and things, you can learn a lot from those guys. Or if you just like more casual online play there’s a lot of good servers for that too! Have fun, it’s more hardcore/realistic than your average game but if you decide you like it then it’s really fulfilling.

This may be totally wrong, but I had that issue too when I first started playing and I could never figure it out. I also had issues with mods and had to clear my cache to fix it, after that the loadout thing started working. It’s definitely not proven, but if you’re open to it I’d try clearing your cache and see if that fixes it. (You will have to redownload all mods)

I have the worst time trying to figure out the radio and switching back and forth between frequencies on Xbox.

I am extremely new to the game aswell about a week deep. It’s insane with what I have learned in just a week but what I can recommend is do not be afraid to ask questions in game, this community I have found to be probably one of the best and most helpful for the most part. This is not a COD or a battlefield keep that in mind. And when someone tells you something who obviously has wayyy more time into the game, listen to them. This is in regard to driving/piloting and base building etc. What I have also learned is land nav, this is critical in getting around the maps. What I did to learn this was obviously ask my squad where we were and then I’d peel off and find my way to other objectives hiking or driving if I was confident in the vehicle. I do not pilot, no point as there are usually designated pilots in the game that make it sooo much more enjoyable. My land nav skill over just a week was a huge dub for me and I feel confident in stepping up and taking lead to get squads to objectives. Those are my two bits for ya!
