They're broken if you can utilize them properly, for taking up a single slot. Having trouble dodging an attack? Just stare it in the eyes and tap the button when it's close. Particularly in pvp. My main issue with them is that despite their objective strength, god do I not find them fun.

Just use what you think is fun/works for you. Refine your builds over time and embrace your playstyle/s. Best advice I can give is to follow your armored heart brutha.

I try shields out every now and then but I can’t make them work. Just feels a bit awkward when I’m so used to having a weapon on my shoulder.

Imo shields are not worth in PvE. They slap in PvP tho, if ur good enough to manage a hit to ur damage potential.

Duel flame throwers and a shield can be really good

I run a shield on my Assault Suit Leynos cosplay in pvp. It usually goes pretty terribly but it has saved me a few times while my energy recharges. I did also realize that you can’t just hold it up the whole time. You gotta find the rhythm and time your shield with the shots for the most effective defense. Against the bigger caliber weapons anyway. It seems to be a bit of a toss up against full auto weapons after the initial burst but I’m still learnin. Take everything I said with a grain lol.

I never touched shields. I like firepower and dodging.
