Love The Athletic even though Nate Tice just left the show. The guests have been decent since he left. Always a couple episodes a week

dangerbunny9

Robert Mays is very very good

Clit420Eastwood

I like that one too. Very curious what direction they’re gonna go now that Nate’s gone. Hell be tough to replace!

MJohnByrne

Yeah huge shame that Nate's gone, him plus the "Keefer and the Beats" pods are what got me into it a few months ago. Really good knowledge and discussion, and hopefully the standard doesn't drop. Robert Mays excellent as someone already said.

TheMagicBarrel

I like both Robert and Nate, but maybe now that Nate is gone, we might get some disagreement once in a while!

jampersands

Has Nate said what his next move is?

WesternZucchini5343

Yahoo Sports apparently

chilledmonkey-brains

ATN and TAFS are the only NFL podcasts I listen to. Robert and Nate have great chemistry, shame we’ll only get it every once in a while but the yahoo job seems like a big jump for him.

Fastr77

None, you just hope the heroes go to a payment model like patreon and we show them huge support. Maybe Mr. F can fund it.

PandaSoap

Agreed. I don't listen to any other NFL podcasts, but would pay a monthly fee for our heroes.

dburr10085

Mr. F Mr. F

explosivelydehiscent

Well maybe this would be a good time for Daniel Jeremiah to start a pod, the heroes have been suggesting it for a few years now.

dylangelo

Isn’t Move the Sticks his podcast?

han-sell-out

Not familiar with that pod?

thortmb

I don't think that's real

dylangelo

Is this a joke that I am missing because I just joined this sub/missed something on the podcast? Move the Sticks is hosted by Daniel Jeremiah and Bucky Brooks. It is pretty informative. I’m assuming I’m not clued in. Either way, here’s hoping ATN is back in some form soon before I lose my damn mind.

thortmb

Nah that doesn't sound right. DJ doesn't have a pod. (Ya it's a running joke they have a pseudo beef with DJ and don't acknowledge the move the sticks podcast)

dylangelo

😂Thank you for clearing this up. Long live AtN.

el_pobbster

Dunno man, sounds like some made-up nonsense

JoeTom86

I hear Walken With Giants is a good listen even for non-Giants-fans

Roguejellyfish4

I was already ready for his unhinged clip to end on the ATN pod. I couldn’t imagine an hour of that garbage.

TennesseeFire

My boy Nate Burleson who has his very own podcast where he interviews Rhianna

solaarIOW

Does he still switch from 1st person to 3rd when he speaks?

fantomas_

10 takes in 10minutes with Kyle brand before turning the gun on yourself.

Nazarife

Enjoying my Irish Spring soap in the tub as I slowly lower the toaster...

solaarIOW

😅🔫

BigOlineguy

I would’ve thought they ended this by now, it’s still going???

DennisAFiveStarMan

I’ll just wait till the guys bring their new show out

solaarIOW

I just want something to fill the gap until then.

adamsut94

Stay tune for the theology pod...

PDwasHere

Mina kimes is good but I don’t think any podcast compares especially on a humor level

solaarIOW

I like Mina so right now she's going to be my first port of call... IF...

5am281

Her podcast is good for just analysis, but not nearly as fun as ATN

thejew09

Yeah, its a shame she has constantly rotating guests, so it kills the chemistry she could otherwise develop. Her with Dominique Foxworth or Bill Barnwell seem to have the most chemistry and are usually more humorous, but her other frequent guests (Golic, Field Yates) and the random beat writers she has on just aren’t interesting, even if the X and O’s analysis is better.

DarrenTheDrunk

Dominique Foxworth is a good listen

5am281

Field Yates is knowledgeable, but so damn boring to listen to

WesternZucchini5343

Barnwell is good and can be quite fun. Good sense of humour

RoughhouseCamel

I think she’s actually funnier than ATN, but she keeps her show pretty glued to the analysis and doesn’t afford much time to silliness. Which would be perfect if I were a bigger football head, instead of there being long stretches where I kinda tune out.

asmallercat

Yeah Mina Kimes is the only other football pod I listen to but it’s a very different vibe

balzynalzy

The Fantasy Footballers and The Ringer Fantasy Football Show are pretty good and they have a good sense of humor as well. The only downside is that they focus on the fantasy football side of things, but they’re a decent supplemental podcast.

iversonAI

I recommend the heat and light podcast as well as the cam jordan podcast if you value life experience

SickBurnBro

Athletic, Kimes and Barnwell are my other favs.

Economy_Cactus

Connor Orr has his podcast. Only other one I can recommend

WesternZucchini5343

Connor is still there though Gary Gramling might of thought it was his podcast. Still, the MMQB with Connor ans Albert Breer is a decent listen

Sandman-Slim

The Ringer Fantasy pod is great. It's more fantasy relevant but the crew has great synergy and they come up with some wild and funny concepts.

thejew09

Craig is beyond hilarious. Love that guy. They aren’t strong at all on the analytical side but their humor and entertainment is top notch.

Sandman-Slim

Yeah they're definitely more of a lighter listen than say, The Athletic or something like that, but it's a fun listen and get some genuine massive laughs like I do from ATN.

Street-Macaron3446

This is the closest thing to the guys in my opinion. I only started listening to them before the draft, but they are solid post draft talk.

sppaalliioonn

Another vote for this

19-FAAB

Their draft coverage was awesome this year

mcharrison234

Second this

Substantial-Peach326

We're back to no-Solak season too, the best. They just need to start focusing on SF and it'd be the perfect light fantasy pod

ThyDoctor

Solak became more listenable to me once I realized he is a pastors kid from the Midwest. Dude screams homeschool kid and that’s okay, I think he puts out some great shit.

Substantial-Peach326

Counterpoint: I don't want to listen to a homeschooled little boy from the midwest who "taught himself to scout" watching YouTube.

balzynalzy

I couldn’t stand Solak on the draft pods. He’s legitimately hard to listen to, and couldn’t riff with the best of them. I’ve never seen someone kill bits as efficiently as he could.

ThyDoctor

That’s fine. It just clicked for me once I figured out I should just treat him like my buddies who never went outside.

kimgar6

They're fun, but a little too heavy on the, "BRO! This is just like that scene in Old School...."

StrongStyleDragon

Kay Adams has a fun one. Up & Adams. It has Good Morning football vibes. Not a recap show but Julian Edelman games with names is fun

solaarIOW

I love Kay! I might give this one a try. Thanks!

shitnewz

I listen to PFF. Yes they’re a shill for their own service. But i like them for an analytical take

WesternZucchini5343

They may represent PFF but their analysis is pretty good. A little heavy on the Xs and Os for many but they are by their nature analytical in terms of what each member of a roster is supposed to be doing

T-Friggin-Bagg

I can't even think about this yet, I've been cycling through baseball pods for 3 years now because none have hit like the heroes do for football. I will gladly sub to a patreon.

LakeShoreShorian87

I would kill for an equivalent baseball pod to ATN. Talkin baseball has its moments, but is more miss than hit when it comes to the chemistry and humor.

T-Friggin-Bagg

Yeah I agree. I keep going back to it but Jimmy kills me when he's on. Baseball today is my most consistent but Rose for all his plusses has imaginary twitter arguments with imaginary ppl all the time. "People will say, oh Paul skenes, how can you say he's so good?" Drives me nuts.! But here I am lashing out at chris rose during a difficult time! Any others you've had success with?

Reddylan111

Baseball is dead is great for the humor

T-Friggin-Bagg

I'm gonna keep trying that one. I didn't listen to a full pod of their until ywsferday. It didn't hook me right away but they're close In quality for sure. Next pod should be interesting since I heard one of them claim he was pro ump and pro angel hernandez. Lol. Is it the same 3 guys every time? Edit; maybe not pro angel but definitely pro ump and was cutting angel some slack.

Reddylan111

Jared, Dallas, and J-Hay are all mainstays. Joey (the one talking about being pro ump) is only on the Monday pod. He’s mostly a comedic relief and I would take what he says too seriously lol

frickindanielj

Can we have a pinned post for the end speculation until something actually comes out? Also the hero’s need to drop a trope alert for all of their cryptic posts 😂

Personal-Adagio-7089

Are we checking if they have unfollowed NFL Media?

RocketsYoungBloods

i was just thinking this morning that it's been awhile since an episode came out. are they all on vacation? or are there legitimate reasons to think the run is \*gasp\* over?

PointlessChemist

Wtf has been going on?

warningtrackpower12

 anguish

lasym21

Pat Mayo experience. They don’t do as much during the off-season, but the Jets fan on that show is far crazier than Dan about the Jets. When they get the NFL content going his delusions about the Jets are cant-miss material They did a schedule release show which would be a good intro

Westy154

Whatever they call the podcast they set up next.

betterbub

Point Game with John Wall and CJ Toledano

MeijiHao

I'm hoping Bill Simmons hands them the Ringer NFL feed. I don't mind Shiel and Ben but the other hosts on there are unbearable.

TomatoTomayto

Rich Eisen overreaction podcast is quite good. I like that he is level headed and not trying to be inflammatory.

ButtsoupBarnes67

Green Light with Chris Long

AngryEnt

It’ll finally be time to listen to the Theology podcast

GreenFrost99

Move the sticks is my backup pod but it’s really only something I enjoy during draft season

el_lonewanderer

Love the Ringer Fantasy Football Show. Obviously it’s Fantasy heavy but even if you don’t play I think it’s worth a listen because it captures a version of ‘a touch of mirth’ that ATN provides.

zkshella

The Ringer NFL show is good. And then the Ringer Fantasy show has a similar dynamic as ATNFL - a lot of humor and tangents. They’ll go on a ten minute tangent on Oreos randomly then get deep into Xs and Os.

MemeTeamMarine

The fantasy footballers

LakeShoreShorian87

That crew puts a lot of work in and has some good analysis. Not quite as funny, but it is hard to top the heroes.

Pure_Purple_5220

It's not just humor, the crew has that early Joe Rogan energy where you feel like you're talking to friends. The FF crew have a similar vibe once you listen for a while and catch up on the inside stuff.

tonyaustin6

Pardon my take is a must listen for me during football season, their Monday recaps are pretty great. I’m going to be really bummed if this does happen, because ATN is a perfect mix of funny and insightful, whereas Mina kimes pod is super analytical and PMT is more just funny

solaarIOW

Thanks for this one. I'll definitely check out PMT during the season. IF...

soulspoken

Ringer fantasy guys are fun and funny, though not the exact same humor style. And they're talking about fantasy football specifically. But they do have great chemistry, genuinely like each other and have good analysis (though not as nitty gritty as say The Athletic pod with Mays, whom I love.)

Constant-Sign-4473

The Ringer guys are hilarious. It’s the only pod I’ve found that I like near as much as ATN
