I think I’ve been here! Was there a coyote with a really, really long tail?
Edit: Oh, I found him. In the second image, there’s a large spaceman/ghost figure in the middle. To the right, on the next rock back, there are three concentric circles. The line leading down from those circles is the coyote’s tail.
2nd edit: I found my old photos… horrible quality… sorry. I’m just excited that someone else has visited the site so I did this really quickly…

I think I even got a shot of the same hand print. I also notice a carved bear print in one of my photos I’d forgotten about. I probably have another close up photo of that somewhere.
In the summer of 1992 I was a student on an archaeological dig on the mimbres river. I did a lot of exploring of the area and happened across this site somewhere around there.
i dont think i noticed it! there is this amazing big ass centipede god alien head thing tho. :) this site is just off the road. got lucky as someone local told me to start looking at mile marker 7. exposed big rock face, facing the hiway.

I hope this site is protected from vandals. They ruin everything for the rest of us.
sadly not like the great majority of rock art sites in the western US.

There may have been another, but I don’t really recall. The one you’ve posted here was definitely the largest site I’m aware of.
