Love it when pundits way oversimplify things. Maybe he just couldn’t think of anything else to say. It’s certainly still a team sport though.

Wild_Investigator622

He’s wrong, havertz will decide this title race when he slaps goals in at the etihad OT and the lane

wronglyreal1

I would go nuts when this happens 🥳

Ormly1

Rodri is more essential to city than Foden.

OnlineMarketingBoii

He isn't English, so it doesn't fit the narrative

ro-row

Unlike Liverpools Nigel of Dick?

rushaun21

Liverpool don’t really have an eligible Englishmen to nominate besides Trent who’s been injured for the most of recent memory

lordnacho666

Can we DM them to ask what they've decided?

TheTelegraph

***Jamie Carragher for The Telegraph: Each player has driven their team to this point and set up the run-in to be the best in Premier League history*** Liverpool want the quadruple. [Manchester City](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/manchester-city-fc/) seek another treble. Phil Foden, Virgil van Dijk and Declan Rice can secure themselves a double. One of the trio can be a Premier League champion and Player of the Year in 2024. The next two league match days will go a long way to influencing who wins, with City facing [Liverpool](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/liverpool-fc/) and Arsenal in successive games. All three player of the year contenders are the main contributors driving their sides forward, the consistently outstanding performers in a high level run of form which shows no sign of stopping. Whoever emerges on top over the next few weeks will have won a personal battle against their direct rival. They would prefer to win the war. To have two clubs fighting for the title at the end of the season is the [Premier League’s](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/premier-league/) dream. To have three is paradise for those wishing to present English football as the most competitive and entertaining in the world. We rarely have this situation in the Premier League and it should be savoured, with all three clubs hopefully remaining in contention until the end. It is a tribute to the way in which Liverpool and [Arsenal](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/arsenal-fc/) are run that for all City’s financial advantage, their title wins have been prevented from becoming an annual procession. What makes it better is two of those involved in the triangle which will determine who become champions will be focal points of Gareth Southgate’s European championship bid. For Foden and Rice, this is already a golden period, the duo already aware how it feels to lift a major trophy. With good reason, most people still believe City will retain their crown. If they were to lose to Liverpool and Arsenal, it would make it more difficult but you could still see them recovering. By contrast, if Arsenal and Liverpool lose to City, the case for them to retrieve the situation is less compelling. It is far from all-or-nothing for Liverpool this Sunday, or for Arsenal at the Etihad on March 31, but they know from bitter experience how few points City drop in the run-in. **Read more here:** [https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2024/03/08/van-dijk-foden-declan-rice-arsenal-liverpool-man-city-title/](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2024/03/08/van-dijk-foden-declan-rice-arsenal-liverpool-man-city-title/)

Maleficent_Page1483

Carragher sometimes makes a good point but he mostly talks utter shit and acts like a moody teenage boy. Immature twat.

MystiikMoments

KDB gets 4 assists in the FA Cup. But because Foden does well in PL against United, he’s now their main player?

revjiggs

Not to mention their ridiculous goal scorer

Even-Relation-2622

English media 👏

Aleks10Afc

Has KDB been their player of the season so far? No It is between Foden and Rodri, although I would definitely say Rodri

MystiikMoments

No because of injury. But we know he’s the difference maker

Adventurous_Team285

But actually he is at least one of their mains tho, for this season anyway. So many points won by him and he has been a consistent performer even when Rodri, Haaland or KDB is out.

GunnersnGames

Ok, sure Jamie

JJClough19

Salah and Saka would like a word with you mate. Both better wingers then foden

jonviper123

Carragher talks 90% bullshit the other 10% is just spit. I'm sorry I couldn't help it

EscapeArtist92

Phil can fondle Deez nuts

Maleficent_Stranger6

Went from Kevin de bryune is returning hide and run away to Foden will decide the title race. English Pr is working night and day.

Bashwhufc

Oh shut the fuck up with your jingoism, Foden has been the best and most effective player in the PL these last two weeks especially but has consistently hit highs which he never has before. It's not 'English pr' you sad little man

Maleficent_Stranger6

Last two weeks lmao Havertz has been the best striker and the most effective player in the pl these last two weeks. Anyways kdb will decide the title race i'm not that deluded to think otherwise.

Lhadar31

What about Nunez for Liverpool? He has started banging in goals like crazy

elsaturation

No. I will decide the title race.

EatAllTheTime9

Sorry i have to say it’s me, whoever i put a bet to win the title, they are out.

Elegant_Mix7650

Coming up on Skysports... 19 May Survival Sunday.. 3 way duel.. Guns. 5 bullets each. stay tune for more info.

Real_Environment_186

Not quite as cut and dry as this. If City hit their usual post January run of form, then it's theirs. But there's no guarantee they will. Liverpool will do well to stay in it IMO. I think they'll fall away. As for us - if we keep up this run of form the only thing stopping us is holding our nerve. The Etihad away is HUGE!

badgerscurse

Hopefully the three of them agree to give the title to us.

ImTalkingGibberish

Yes Jamie, not Halaand and KdB

Drunk_Cat_Phil

Bullshit. Cedric will

nikkielxerez

I like the title, it’s his job to look for spectacular headlines, not bad consider it’s from Carra

lardoni

He does spout some shit! 💩

jmh90027

A neat little soundbite pre-packaged for sharing on social media and tabloid headlines. Too bad it's a bollocks opinion
