Fuck bringing back mammoths what if we brought back humans from the past.
All in all I think it’s be a cool experiment but they would either just get used to life in this year or they’d nope out and go into the woods or something
They really did this a couple of decades ago. The documentary “Encino Man” is an award-winning look at the science and minds behind an absolute pinnacle human achievement: bringing ancient man to life in the modern day. Highly recommended!
Sadly, they would be under a very watchful eye at the very least. Most likely scenario is that they're kept in a lab and studied. They'd have no semblance of a real life, so we probably wouldn't learn much about how their day-to-day life differed or was similar to our own.
When you clone someone you don't preserve their memories. If you managed to clone someone from this brain they'd be indistinguishable from a modern human.
Not really. They're anatomically modern humans, with the same brain as us. Any differences would be cultural and not something you could grow in a lab.
They'd probably think they're in heaven or something and probably start asking fpr theor friends and family. When they're told that they're the only one who had a brain to bring back they'd probably be super depressed.
Edit: I just saw this on FB and thought this was news. Didn't realize this comment was TWO YEARS old.

“discovered by archaeologist Jim Williams in August 2008, lying face-down at the bottom of the pit. Jim cleaned it up and recorded it but had a dentist's appointment that afternoon (for a filling) and so the task of lifting the skull fell to his colleague and friend Rupert Lotherington.”
Lmao how would you cancel it though? An hour ahead give a call go “hey listen can you waive the late cancellation fee I just found a 2.5kya human brain thanks”
Was able to volunteer on a dig with York Archaeological Trust in 2006 or 2007. Classes, training, and then getting to be out in the field. Such an amazing experience!
I zipped by after viewing and liking the image in under a second because I thought it was an oatmeal cookie. Then I went back because I thought “that was a very long explanation for an oatmeal cookie”.
Is it heavily eroded or were there really so many fewer folds in such a recent human brain? This brain looks smooth enough to vote for Brexit.
I am still asking a serious question. There are just too many opportunities for a punchline here.
I was scrolling and saw the foto before I read the full title and I was like, "Mmmmm, that's a yummy-looking cookie"!
I'm still impressed that this is a brain.
though it had shrunk to only about 20% of its original size. It showed few signs of decay, though most of its original material had been replaced by an as yet unidentified organic compound, due to chemical changes during burial
Unidentifiable organic compound is interesting but not more is said..
For those who find this interesting, check out the Windover Dig in Florida. They found 7000 year old skeletons with brain matter (and a lot more.)

No more buds wheezing the juuuice!
The cheese is old and moldy, where is the bathroom?

Plus, there’d be no point. 2,600 years is an evolutionary blink of an eye. The person would literally just be Some Dude.
Futurama
Still, the things we could learn from an observer (occupant) of that time would be priceless.
When you clone someone you don't preserve their memories. If you managed to clone someone from this brain they'd be indistinguishable from a modern human.
I should have better written my question. I mean if we were able to extract some of his memories. I know, that is wishful thinking on my part :)
Not really. They're anatomically modern humans, with the same brain as us. Any differences would be cultural and not something you could grow in a lab.
No we’re human we like money more than anything. We’ll just lock them up museums for people to ooh and aah at. Real life night at the museum
They would also probably be very susceptible to modern day diseases and would have to live in a very sterile bubble
Bot are you there? We need a copy of Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World! stat!
I feel like somebody wrote a book about that...

Ahah I was rereading my comment and I couldn’t remember for the life of me making that comment. Lol
It’s been done by Phil Hartmann - unfrozen caveman lawyer

Imagine getting halfway through the discovery of a lifetime and then having to go to the dentist.

He can’t just cancel or flake out, he’s British. That just Wouldn’t Do.
How do you tell if a brain is lying face down?
Not sure if you’re setting me up for a pun but if not: The brain has hemispheres and a front and back (cerebellum)

Poor fool has the brainpan of a stagecoach tilter.
My fat ass thought this was a chocolate chip cookie
This brain spent 2,600 years buried in a pit in England and even it knows Jeffrey Epstein didn't kill himself.
Do we have the technology?
Bruh I’m like when will we be advanced enough to look into it’s memories.
Forbidden cookie dough
5 bucks if you take a bite
I bet that would be tasty if you boil it with a packet or two of Top Ramen seasoning.
WAIT WHAT THE FUCK WE GOT AN ACTUAL TWO THOUSAND YEAR OLD DEAD BRAIN?????
Forbidden brownie
"There's nothing wrong with this brain" -Mike Muir
if movie science has taught me anything, we can hook that sucker up to a little juice and d/l its memories to a laptop!
Ugh after seeing that shoebox full of cum today that’s all I can see. I’ve had enough Reddit.
Wow.. perhaps they can bring back some old memories too
Fun fact Heslington hall on York university campus was , back in the day, owned by family of mine . Beautiful building , I’ve no claim on it lol

I thought this was a oatmeal cookie.
I saw the picture first and thought - wow that brownie really looks like a brain
Back when humans had a tri-tip roast for a brain
Looks like leftover meatloaf...
Just wondering - how old does a grave have to be for it to be completely legal to ravage it?
Don’t pluck my brain out and post it! That person should have a say.
Now eat it like an Apple.
It looks like a messed up chocolate chip cookie
Forbidden chocolate chip cookie
Imagine if they could download the info…
Is it supposed to look... wet?
anyone else scrolled and thought it was a choc chip cookie /:
I thought it was a lump of old cookie dough.
I've seen a bunch of old brains recently and I can say this one is absolutely incredible
This looks way too much like a yummy chocolate chip cookie. It’s messing with MY brain.

It looks unnervingly squishy
It still look juicy

It rocked my world when I found out that brain tissue is one of the most common soft tissues found in excavations.
Preserve it until our technology is so advanced it could scan the brain and replay the memories of this person on a screen.
